Dear Xbox LIVE Gold Member:

We launched Deal of the Week program on Feb 23rd, 2009 as an added benefit to your Gold membership and we are very excited to see the overwhelming response we have received from our loyal users such as you.

As a result of the increased transactions we know that you experienced an intermittent Xbox LIVE issue, which resulted in you being charged full price of 1200 points for the ‘Braid’ deal instead of the discounted price of 800 points. We sincerely wish to apologize for the
technical glitch and would like to take this moment to thank you for your patience and understanding as our team worked around the clock to fix this problem.

We will not only be crediting back the 400 points that were overcharged, but also be crediting an extra 100 points as a token of our appreciation and as a thank you for your loyalty during this period. You will see a credit of 500 points in your account in the coming weeks.

With unlimited online gaming, instant streaming of Netflix movies*, early access to game demos and now the exclusive discounts of Deal of the Week, we hope you continue to enjoy your Gold membership!

Sincerely,

Xbox LIVE Team

*Netflix sold separately

I bought Braid during the deal but didn't get this either. I honestly don't recall being overcharged though. They can't just be sending out to everyone who bought the game that week.

Same. I wasn't really paying attention when I bought Braid, either, so I have no idea if I was overcharged.

It would seem, however, that it's irrelevant, since it appears they're just going to give everyone that bought Braid the 500 points. I mean, the wording of the e-mail is fairly straightforward.

Awesome.

Meaning, many of us will have gotten Braid for 300 points. Kick ass! :bouncy:
I didn't think I was overcharged but I didn't really pay attention. I did get the mail though.
Same here. Well I look forward to having 500 MS Points deposited in my account.

How very nice of them. I could have sworn that I paid 800 but whatever. Give me points. XBLA and DLC doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

For some reason I can't find the email receipt for it. And I don't delete emails. Might've gotten lost when hotmail went down for a couple hours a week ago.

I don't believe they email you for the DLC you purchase... they only email you when you redeem codes and whatnot.

I calculated my current points vs. total put in vs. points spent (I have no life) and I did pay 800 for it. With that said; WIN! I

I bought Braid, got the e-mail, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't over charged. Will be interesting to see if I have a bonus 500 points show up in my account though.

Is there a way to check your microsoft points transactions? I don't think I even got the points even though I got an e-mail, but I could be wrong, and I'm pretty sure I only spent 800 points on Braid.

You can check your entire account purchase history, including point redemptions on http://live.xbox.com

It'll show you what you've purchased, but not the price point you've purchased it at... unless I'm mistaken or can't find that option.

It should show all point transfers. I can see how much I paid for content...or at least could the last time I checked last week when they sent out these emails. I haven't seen any "correction" hit my account though.

My extra points showed up today. Only 20 points from Banjo-Tooie :( shouldn't have bought that SFIV DLC pack >_< but It'll help me get the next Fable 2 DLC pack.

Yep me too.. last night I had 4500... Just logged in and now I have 5000! That will help me big time when Broken Steel comes out!

Yup... it would appear that the points are showing up. I went from 340 to 840 this morning. I'm curious to see whether anyone who *didn't* get the e-mail receives them.

It's certainly strange... thinking back on it, I'm almost certain I didn't get overcharged, since I generally only buy enough points to get what I want at the time.

Regardless, even if i was, these might as well be free, since I hadn't noticed either way. Heh.

Ah yeah I had 700 this morning and 1200 now sweet! Sadly I'm now tempted to get Castle Crashers but I'll continue to wait for a deal >_<

By the way I went to marketplace.xbox.com and looked at my "purchase history" but it actually shows everything including trailers and free content (no prices), but I recently changed my live name and that did not show up, kind of odd. I'm almost positive I only spent 800 on Braid though, unless it showed up as 800 points being deducted and it actually removed 1200.

I don't know if this has anything to to do with the Braid thing but I got 400 points from the Oblivion DLC fiasco on April Fool's Day. I downloaded all the DLC except the expansion packs (already had them on the GOTY disc) and the horse armor because I didn't have enough points. When I went to download 3 of them, they came up with errors. I didn't mind since I purchased them and I could download them again in the future. I checked my points account last week and had an extra 400 points out of the blue. I didn't ask any questions and just downloaded the horse armor lol. I also re-downloaded the other DLC that didn't work and got it to install too. Just a heads up!
Got mine too. Nice.

Looked at my purchase history but it doesn't show the amount paid for Braid.
Like I said... go to billing.microsoft.com
billing.microsoft.com should show the price of what you bought a game at
Yeah, it'd be nice, but I don't think Sony shows you either. I know for a fact that Nintendo shows you, but it doesn't go farther than the console.
