Check your emails for the MONSTER HUNTER beta test invitation

Wait a second, so you just have to be registered as a member of Playstation Underground? I know I am, all I did was register on the website a while ago, so then I'm eligible, I just have to be picked?

I got my e-mail this morning and I immediately applied. I haven't heard many details about Monster Hunter, but it's an MMORPG, right?

got mine....applied....said i was accepted....does this mean that i will be getting a beta version? or will sony just "consider" my application?

ive never beta tested before...

Yes, you are in.

If you have registered already at Playstation.com, make sure you have beta testing checked off in your profile. Its probably too late for this one, but maybe next time.

WTF?! I had beta testing check-marked on my profile, but I didn't get one of these emails. Could it be that I just check-marked that I had a network adapter today?

Yup.
AFAIK, all the Sony public beta tests have been online games.

I got mine a day ago, updated my profile last night.

And it isnt somuch an MMO as it is a multiplayer strategy game, Wish I'd takent he time to study it more at E3.

OMFG!!! I MISSED ANOTHER BETA TEST!!!!!! DAMMIT!!!!!

I guess I missed out on this one. Well at least I got in on EQOA, Socom II and Final Fantasy XI...I guess they thought that was enough of me heh heh. It would have been interesting though. Since most of this is secretive and all, and you click on the "Yes I won't tell anyone about it" sort of thing, will it be ok for CAG beta testers to let others no of game in development and how they test out. Can't be a true review since the product is unfinished at the moment, but just thought it'd be interesting

thanks for clearing that up cheapy...do we get to keep the copies of monster hunter or do we send them back to sony? i remember reading that ffxi beta testers had to send their copies along with the hard drive back to sony.....

To sign up, make an account on www.playstation.com , check the beta box and make sure you register with the same email you used to register your network adapter so it will say that your network adapter is registered with them.

You don't need to send back the discs, but they won't work after the test. The FFXI testers only had to send back the HDD.

To beta test on GC you have to be a "Sage" on Nintendo's official forums. I've heard they only tested Custom Robo so far. I would try to become a Sage, but I already visit too many forums, so I doubt I'll try. Plus those forums are filled with a lot of little annoying kids, lol.

I've been an Underground member for years now, with my profile updated forever...beta testing checked and network adaptor registered a year and a half ago or something. No email for Monster Hunter. :( No matter how much I do, I haven't gotten into any beta tests from being registered with Sony (Auto Modellista, FFXI, SOCOM II, SF: Omega Strain were ones I missed out on). Oh well, there's always next time.

They don't send invites to everyone. I never got emails for the Syphon Filter or Auto Modellista betas but did get them for EQOA, EQOA:Frontiers, FFXI, SOCOM II, RE:Outbreak and Monster Hunter.

No, you get to keep the beta discs. In the FFXI beta, the only thing we had to send back was the hard drive. The beta discs and manuals were ours to keep. Absolutely useless after the beta, but pretty neat to hold on to for collecting purposes.

uh... actually you were supposed to send EVERYTHING back, according to the documentation I'd received. I've been invited to just about every beta so far, the only ones I didnt take part in where the ones that were Broadband only.

But anyway, just got my confirmation email today, I'm totally IN. They said to expect the package by the 15th.

damn i have been on the game advisory panel for a while now - never once have I been invited into a BETA...and MONSTER HUNTER woulda been a d ream come true :(

yea... GAP is pissin me off... i joined, i dont get anything out of it.. i never get chosen for betas, pretty much so pointless for me to join.

apparently instead of getting different beta testers everytime, they pick pretty much so the same damn people.

Well your documentation was wrong or your read it wrong. They only said to send back the hard drive kit. This was also clarified in the emails they sent out at the end of the beta. It was Sony who wanted their drives back. Squenix didn't want the software back as they'd just throw it out.

I've only been in the Gamer Advisory Panel since December or so and I've been in the Syphon Filter: Omega Strain beta and now the Monster Hunter beta. I dunno why GAP isn't choosing you guys. Do you have broadband?

I missed out on RE: Outbreak because I didn't read my e-mail fast enough. I did get in on Monster Hunter which will be my third beta after Socom 2 and EQOA. Beta periods are reallly short though. This one is about 14 days. I remember not even getting to try Socom 2 because it was only open for about 7-10 days after I got it and something came up that took me out of town during that time.
anyone get their betas yet?
No, they've been pushed back a week. While we were originally supposed to get them by today (the 15th) they are now saying that we should have them by the 23rd. As a result, they've extended the testing period to July 9th.
Geez I've been so caught up in life stuff I havent even had a chance to put the disk in my system! RRG!
Same here.. I just remembered I had it like 30 minutes ago.
