Cheerleader doesnt cheer. Sues. Loses.

The cheerleader doesn't owe for not cheering the rapist. The cheerleader owes for suing the school and losing. Big difference.

The same ways lawyers do that shit.

People complain about frivolous lawsuits all the time.

Plaintiff is punished with $45,000 fine for filing a frivolous lawsuit.

People complain about fine.

?

Alright, alright she was raped but then why didn't she bring a civil claim against the guy who raped her? Seems to me he's a lot more responsible for her injuries than the school was. Then again, I'd imagine she probably wanted millions of dollars from the school in her lawsuit but conveniently her requested damages seem to be left out the article.

It would make sense if shes was trying get her position back but asking for money is questionable. Wonder if it was her or her parents idea.

Numbers left out, must have been millions of dollars. Don't know what thing in sky is, must contain aliens from another galaxy.

Another way to frame the issue in this case is to ask yourself whether you would support the punitive fine for the frivolous lawsuit if the reason she didn't cheer for the player was because the player was openly gay.

Obviously no one would oppose her being levied with a punitive fine in that case. The court system can't make those kind of distinctions though. Either you have punitive fines for frivolous lawsuits or you don't. If your goal in having punitive fines is to deter frivolous litigation you can't start looking at the plaintiff's whole life story to determine whether or not they deserve the punitive fine.
