Cheerleading Coach Finds Prayer Not a Team Sport

Seems pretty cut and dried to me. She was trying to make the kids under her participate in religious activities and harrassed a girl who complained about it. She should know better than to do it at a state school.

I read that in this months' Seventeen.
When the Jewish girl told the coach she was Jewish, and asked if that would matter, the coach said something like "I love all my girls. I just feel more spiritually connected with the Christian ones." And of course dropping her from first string football, to like third string wrestling cheerleader or something, just a little while after she won a trophy for cheering, and informed the coach she was Jewish.
Very disturbing article.

I think it's interesting that Fox News has this story listed as "Firing of Christian Cheerleading Coach Upheld" making it sound like the coach was fired because she was a Christian. Fair and balanced...

I subscribed to it for free, from one of the links possibly even on this site.
There's certainly a lot of 'ohmygaw!' type stuff in it, but there's also one or two really serious articles in it each month.
This same issue had a F**#ED-UP story about a single/divorced mother...whose teenage daughter [16 I think]...got pregnant. Sad, but it happens. That's not the story.
The mother/grandmother...INDUCED LABOR on her daughter at her home like two months early. The daughter lost a lot of blood and was sick in bed for a couple days. When she got better, she wanted to see her son. Grandma said he died, but she's on trial for murder. Throughout the entire pregnancy Grandma was trying to KILL the baby/force a miscarriage so that DFACS wouldn't take *her* daughter away. Brutal story.
