Chibi-Robo Park Patrol (DS): $19.92 at Wal-Mart (most certainly YMMV)

Saw Chibi-Robo Park Patrol marked as a rollback to $19.92 (pretty sure I'm recalling those last two digits correctly) at the Wal-Mart at Grossmont Center in San Diego tonight. Double checked at another Wal-Mart on my way home, and it was definitely YMMV. There were several other DS games at the same price. Can't recall all of them, but I think I might make a trip there tomorrow, so I'll pay closer attention if anyone is interested (SimCity DS stands out in my memory).

I am so conflicted on whether or not to pick this up. I loved the GC game, and 20 bucks certainly isn't a bad price, but I just have the feeling that if I hold out I'll be able to pick it up on a truer clearance further down the line. I simply cannot imagine that Chibi-Robo is really a slam dunk with Wal-Mart's core audience. Thoughts?

(On a total side note, I hope all you other San Diego CAGs are safe and sound tonight.)

I wouldn't count on getting it at a clearance price if it's Walmart exclusive and your local Walmart doesn't clearance games often. It will likely either stay at that price or sell out without being clearanced.

Not sure if it's common knowledge or something deserving it's own thread, but Toys R Us has Final Fantasy III for $20. Could have been YMMV at the cherry hill store in NJ though. I was surprised to see that game marked at $20 since most places have it for $40. Even Amazon Marketplace has it for $25. I picked that up without hesitating.

You may luck out you may not. Walmart is the one star I wouldn't take chances with. Pick it up. I would at 20 because I'm fairly certain EBs will never have it cheaper than 17.99.

This is precisely the debate raging in my brain. This Wal-Mart rarely seems to clearance games (at least at reasonable prices), but does regularly clearance accessories (just picked up the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows for 10 bucks). In fact, I think this might be the closest thing to a clearance on games I have ever seen this Wal-Mart run.

Anyone know Wal-Mart's policy on matching their own prices? I can't seem to find the info on their website. I'm thinking I'll probably grab it tomorrow, but I might leave it sealed for a little while. Thanks for all the help so far!

The Wal-Marts around me sold this game out really quickly. If you liked the first one, this is a solid follow up.

This is a must-buy for $20, though I'll even buy it for $30. I love Chibi-Robo.

For the last week, I've been debating whether to just order it from their Web site and eat the $2 shipping or actually go to the store. I was honestly leaning toward ordering it because I HATE Wal-Mart and honestly loathe the idea of stepping inside that place. I'd rather pay the extra $2. But for the off-chance at getting the game for $20, I'll swing by the store during my lunch break today.

The game must be selling okay. It was sold out on the Web site last week, though it's back in stock now.

Wal*Mart matches local competitors only. Another Wal*Mart is not a competitor.
