Went to Wal-Mart B&M to pick one up, saw two huge kiosks for Narnia, one in the front of the store, one near the electronics dept. Neither of which had the 2-Disc version. They're pushing the lame 1-Disc + Book for $19.96 as shown in their ad.

I managed to find an endcap of electronics (the new release endcap, I presumed) and finally found it. The single-disc was still $14ish (as shown in the ad), but the 2-disc was only $17.88!

BTW, I also stopped into Sams Club first, figuring they would have a good deal: $27.96 and $19.xx for the single-disc :hot:

Hope no one picked it up at Best Buy for $26.99 yet :oldman:

Did you happen to price-scan it while you were there?

I added "YMMV?" to the title just in case, but it was a regular sale tag, as opposed to the red-hot we-beat-the-local-competition-into-bankruptcy type tags.
 
someone probly price matched with some ad in your area and thats why the price was so low... Im gonna hold off and rent/watch this again when its returned to the campus video store. Thats one good thing... I can rent games/movies at college with my parents money :)

It was $27.xx at my Walmart when I scaned it at the price thing. Walked across the parking lot to Circuit City and bought the 2 disc for $24.99
 
You know, there are rumors that there will be an extended cut of the CoN. It'll be released close to King Kong extended cut near Christmas. I'm waiting for that version.

Are you serious? I hated when the company doing that .........argh.... i'll return my 2-Disc tomorrow and wait for CON extended cut version. Same as King Dong Extended cut version :(
 
I ordered it last week from Tower along w/ the KK 2-disk set. Came out to about $40 total, free shipping.

I haven't heard anything about a re-release of CoN, but I know about the KK rumors. The thing is, if Peter Jackson does the same as he did w/ the LotR sets (which is likely), then none of the special features will be duplicated on the re-release. And those post-production diaries are worth the price of admission alone imo - and I don't even normally watch the extra stuff. :)

Same here, except the single disc was still $17.
 
My brother has the 2 disc edition, and I watched the extras. It was very dissappointing. I'm saving my hard earned cash for the cheaper edition.
 
Dang tell me that Extended Cut news is true. That was my main problem with Narnia, the second the got to the "camp" it went way to fast for them to bond, making the Aslan scene seem unfulling. I love to see more characterazation at that point.
 
I'll just end up borrowing my mothers 2 disc copy. If I thought about getting it, I'd wait till the extended cut. I mean, c'mon, you know thats what they're gonna do. I wish it were common knowledge that that studios double dip with extra stuff with dvds, as its common practice nowadays to do so...
 
Not sure how much Narnia 2-disc is at Tower Records now. It was $22.99 last week and you could use a $5 coupon to bring it down to $17.99. The coupon can be had after a brief survey at towerrecords.com/survey.

I find it rather hilarious that they saw a need to release an EXTENDED version of King Kong. I mean DAMN, that movie felt long. When I told my family about the extended version, they thought I was joking.
