Chronicles of Riddick for Orig. XBox 9.99 @ Amazon.com

ahh....its a hard decision

a 3 year-old "classic" that i've yet to play for $10 or just wait for the re-release on ps3/360 for ~$60

friggin awesome game. . .too bad it's not BC for 360, though. I was actually thinking about cracking it out and playing it again. . .

better FPS adventure than Halo, in my opinion. better story than the movies too.

Price hasn't been officially announced.

I'll take a break from my usual cynicism and hope that the publishers arent that stupid. Its gonna be the same game with improved graphics and a handful of extras. $40 is a good price, they'd have some real balls to charge $60. Then again... Shadowrun...

If anyone has an original xbox and hasnt played this game yet, BUY IT! Its a great game.

Why? Because some retail outlet has a placeholder price in their system? No thanks. I'll wait for something a little more concrete.

GoGamer also has the X-Box version for $10, but they've got the superior PC version for $25. Not sure if anyone has it cheaper, since it's probably out of print.

Are any orignal Xbox titles still in print? I thought Xanide was the last game to ever get a print.

[quote name='eaglebeak']If your looking for the PC version, Gamestop has it for 19.99 in downloadable form.

That's tied up with whatever store they use though. If that service goes away or you lose the internet connection, you'd lose the game. I'd much rather pay an extra $5 (or shop around to see if you can find a real copy for $20). I think I payed about $20ish for mine a couple of years ago.

Since I'm getting a 360 in a couple of days I will bite on this, and maybe add one of the following: Doom 3, Far Cry, or Half Life 2, any suggestions?

Riddick is *NOT* compatible with the 360, as was mentioned.

Also, all those games are much, much better on PC, unless yours is ancient (similar price too, maybe a bit more in some cases).

they're all good but i'd rank them:

1) Far Cry (the original)
2) HL2
3) Doom 3

note: i played these on PC so not sure what they're like on 360

because it will sell regardless of price.

and how many 360 games launched under 59.99? it wouldnt be impsossible to think theyd sell it for 49.99, but theres no way its going to msrp for lower than that.

and if it does end up MSRP'ing for lower than that I will gladly eat crow :p

Far Cry is a different game entirely that added some super powers, but has more restrictive environments. Half Life 2 and Doom 3 are ports of the PC versions, and considering the hardware they're running on, appear to be really remarkable ports, but obviously unless you have a stone age PC it doesn't make any sense to get the X-Box versions. (Half Life 2's Direct X 7 mode even blows away the X-Box version).
