Just picked one up with Revelaitions. It makes the game control well, but this thing is super clunky. No cart or stylus access, and (obviously) no room for my power grip (external battery).

Honestly, it makes the gameplay better, but it turns my 3DS into an original gameboy sized brick.

Anyone else get one?
RE:R online friend codes?

has anyone figured out a way to make it so that the CPP does not fall asleep when you close the lid? It gets annoying to have to re-enable the controls everytime I sleep the 3DS

So these things are nowhere to be found at gamestops around my area now. I had to resort to ordering one direct from the nintendo store and pay $5 shipping. Oh wells.... I am holding out on playing my resident evil and metal gear until I get this. Resident evil is freaking right on, I am about 30 mins into it and dying to play.

Anyways, anyone else have a hard time finding this?

Yeah my local GS is taking orders but they won't have them until 2nd or 3rd week of march :/. I ordered from NOA, too.

Nintendo basically short released it for some reason. I was told when I got mine when RE:R came out that they wouldn't get anymore until late March, which is coincidentally when KI:U is scheduled to come out.

CPP's alright, but it does make feel like I'm playing off-center.

I guess I don't really understand the marketing strategy.

Restricting sales to Gamestop or Nintendo direct? What's the angle there, besides some sort of exclusivity kickback from Gamestop?

I get the feeling Nintendo is internally undecided how much they want to commit to this item. It's very existence carries a certain amount of embarrassment in the admission of a design flaw. It also brings the eternal speculation of a new 3DS model with the function built-in and much better integrated, which can damage sales of the current model. (A version of the Osborne Effect.)

Remember the Broadband Adapter for the GameCube? I don't think I've ever seen one for sale new. It would have been less annoying if Nintendo simply said, "Not this generation," than releasing a product in tiny numbers with lousy support.

I bought one for sale New. It was the best Game Cube accessory I've ever bought.

If a new 3DS model was ever introduced it would most likely come out worldwide very shortly after its' announcement (perhaps a couple of weeks). But I doubt that'll ever happen. I think the next 3DS will be Matte, fix the scratching design flaw (probably making the bottom screen widescreen) and make the system a tiny bit bigger. It will also be called the 3DS Pro and the new CPP will be called the Circle Pad Pro XL.
