Hey, I just got back from Circuity City in Trumbull, Conneticut. I snagged a copy of La Pucelle Tactics for $10 (they might have one or two left, but I doubt it).
My question is thus: It was marked $50, but in the bargain section, so I brought it up for a price check. It rang up $1.99. The dude said he can't sell it for less than $10, which I realize now is a lie as they had jampacks for $5, but whatever. I bought it for $10. Is there any way I could handle the situation where I could've gotten the actual price? I'm not too good at haggeling, I guess.

All you can do is call a manager. Most states require that they charge no more than the listed price, but I don't think the same thing applies to whatever price rings up on a register.

bring it back in when a different worker is there and have them pricematch it since it's only 1.99 now. ;) if they give you back 110% of the difference, you'll end up paying 1.20 and tax for the game, lol! get them back for lying to you hehe. if that doesn't work, talk to a manager b/c that wasn't right of the employee to do that to you.

I would get someone to price it, then go to a different person in the front and they never seem to care.

It was probably suppose to be priced at 19.99, but if you feel determined take it back and complain.
If that happened in CA, there is a law that says you have to get it at the price it rings up.
please provide a link on for this.

I would have said something like, "It's scanning at $2 and I think you should honor that." Or "You aren't going to honor the price in your system? Let me talk to a manager please."

If they really gave me the run around I probably would have just cut bait and paid the $10, but you should have put up at least a bit of a fight IMO. Or if I was worried a manager would decide the computer is broken or something and they'd have to sell it for the $50 sticker price I might just do the $10 and run out of there. But if you are polite a store generally won't dick you over like that. I'm always polite, but I do stick up for what I feel are my rights as a consumer.

You could always right a letter (on actual paper - not e-mail) to CC explaining your dissatisfaction and maybe they'll do something for you, but maybe not.

I also like doraemonkerpal's suggestion to do a price adustment and get 110% back. If the guy again is like 'Woah $2 no way!' Say something like, yeah my friend told me that's the new clearance price here, pretty sweet huh?

I appreciate all your suggestions. $10 is a good deal, and I'm glad I could even find a copy. I think this has taught me, though, that I don't need to just cave. Thanks for the help!

PM me your ticket # from the receipt (upper right-hand corner) and I'll price adjust it for you. If you paid by credit/debit card it will go back to your account. If you paid by cash or check I'll leave it as a temporary store credit and you can take the receipt to customer service at your CC and they should refund the difference to you.

This pisses me off hearing stories about other CC stores not selling games at the $1.99 price point. Corporate downloaded these prices weeks ago and if it was a mistake they would have fixed it by now.

As an open comment to all CAGs, if you have the same problem, buy the game, PM me the ticket # and I'll do what I can to fix it.
