Circuit City GOW2 Follow-up (Anyone get their 1600 Point Cards?)

Has anyone who was promised a 1600 point card from CC during the GOW2 launch actually got one? I've been checking periodically at the CC I purchased it from and still NOTHING, and it's been almost two weeks. They don't seem to have any indication on when they are getting them either.

Any CAGs have any luck?
 
Kinda surprised , it isn't like the cards were some special item. They should still be stocking them on a regular basis unless the company can't afford to pay for the little stuff like that anymore. Wouldn't be too shocked if they were just sitting on the box in the back room
 
So whats the deal with this, you guys didnt get any cards? When I bought my copy the lady who sold me the game told me that they got a huge shipment of cards to cover the launch...
 
I went in a couple of days later and they gave me the card. They didn't know how to ring it through the register, so the employee made a copy of my receipt and left a note on it for a manager.
 
I ordered mine over the phone. Got the card two days before gears and gears the day after it came out(saturday). I didn't have too much trouble with mine :)
 
my CC had enough cards... just not enough copies of the game... sold out by Noon Saturday, luckily the toys r us is across the street, so i settled for the $15 gift card from them
 
I went twice, and no dice. The last time I went, I pointed out that they had stock of them on-line, and their policy is (if they have stock of something on-line and not instore) they'll ship it to you for free. Instead, they just took the $19.99 off my purchase (so I actually got GoW2 for $40!)
 
I checked with the store I bought it from, and they still have nothing. They told me I could get the card at any store as long as they have it. So I went to another store yesterday who was showing them "in stock" online and they only have enough for their orders and told me I had to go to the store I originally bought it at.

The thing that pisses me off is the store with the cards special ordered them for every customer that day and called them when they came in but the store I bought them didn't. I'm going to check Tuesday and if there still isn't anything I'm going to be really upset. I really was hoping to have the card for SSFIITHDR.
 
My CC didn't have them, but told me they would get them in stock later in the day. The guy rang me up, and I was pretty surprised when the total came to $57 for the LE after tax. They actually charge you for each item separately, so when I picked up the points card, they were going to charge another $17. I said fuck that points card, didn't go back later in the day, and got the LE for $57 after tax.

Is my CC the only one that did that? Wouldn't you guys rather have a cheaper LE?

Normally they do it to prevent you from buying the item and returning it for full value, to get the free item for free.

I'm surprised you paid $57 for it after tax, since I would have thought it would have been $50 + tax, so I guess they must have discounted the 1600 points card to get it to the $69.99 price before tax. What was the price on the receipt for GOW2 LE?
 
I know this off-topic because this thread is about CC but I still havent received my copy of the LE from Best Buy that shipped out on 11/05. It must have got lost in the mail or something because it did ship and I have a DC# for it and the status just shows it sitting at the Post Office routing center since 11/07. I did get the free Centaur Tank about a week after but that shipped all by itself. I have been in contact with Best Buy's Customer Service about 5-6 times about this and they are looking into it but they say they cant give me a refund because the item did ship from thir warehouse, so its no longer thir problem. Any advice on what I can do would be a great help, I used my bank's Visa Debit Card to order it way back on 10/06 when the deal was first posted so I dont know if I am eligable for any kind of protection from the bank itself.

Got my card in the mail a week after I bought the game. Came faster than u thought and I'm just glad it came after hearing how people never got theirs.

Since it's obvious you're getting no where with Best Buy, I would call your bank, there should be an 800 number on the back of your card. Explain to them what happened, and file a dispute. I've had something similar happen to me in the past, and filed a compliant with my bank, and everything turned out fine.

I lost/threw away the receipt. I remember him saying I would owe $17 when I came back to pick up the card. I'm assuming they charged tax on the $70 then took off the card?

However it ended up working out, I was happy.

Either way, you're happy.
 
I still haven't got mine, I call everyday and annoy them by asking though.

I still haven't opened my copy as I will return it if I don't get it by this upcoming Friday.
 
I got mine in the mail 3 days after getting the game. Went to CC when they opened on Friday. The cashier told me they didn't have any ms points cards and asked if I wanted it mailed or would I like to pick it up. I said mail it and he was fiddling around the computer and said I would get an email confirmation, but never did. The following Monday, I got it in the mail.
 
I ordered online, the package was sent, and mysteriously returned. The say the Fedex guy couldn't find my apartment, the same dude, that delivers stuff to me once or twice a week, now of course, the deal is unavailable. So heated.
 
no luck here either....i went twice already since the release date and they still havent received any cards. its been 2 weeks now which is pretty ridiculous for them to get a special order in.... so if its not in by this friday which will be a total of 3 weeks im gonna ask the manager for store credit.
 
No luck here either. They said they'd call but they haven't. I went in a couple times and asked but they said they didn't have any. I'm going to go in tomorrow and ask for a $20 refund if they don't have them in stock.
 
Finally got mine yesterday. I checked the status on CC.com and it finally showed in-stock at the store I bought it from. They basically refunded $20+tax from the GOW2 purchase and put it towards the card. The 1600 point cards now show "in-stock" (they had been backordered since before GOW2's launch) on the website so I'd imagine most CC's should be getting the cards very soon.
