True. I found my copy in IL. Actually most of the Kmart clearance games I've found have been in teh Chicago area. Maybe I should move there...:whistle2:k
 
Mario Tennis for $8.96, plus a 25% discount if that 'Cool Deals' thing works on clearance games again this time? I'm totally down for paying $6.72 for this game!
 
It was a mistake during last year's clearance. It was supposed to be on sale for $19.99 that week but they marked it down to $8.96 and then raised it back to $29.99
 
this may sound like a stupid question, but since CC is having clearances every month, does this mean that they won't have that one big sale in the middle of the summer (I remember last year when I got like 15 games, including the Halo Triple Pack, for 8.96 a piece)

I'm hoping for the 25% off as well but I am not expecting it since it appeared to be a glitch that it worked on clearance games last time.

The big answer is...no. :cry:

I went up there with a stack of clearanced games (since my CC actually had them separated out for once) and had the guy scan all of them, and all of them came up at the regular price. I had games that were clearanced at three different price points ($8.96, $12.96, and $16.96), but it didn't work for any of them. The only one I wound up buying was Mario Tennis, since $9 is still a good deal.

But yeah, on that note, they had a lot more games clearanced than I thought they would. Not sure about the other systems, but for the DS they had at quite a few games that I never knew were on clearance. Maybe they were part of an older clearance I didn't know about, but they seemed like newer games so I'm not sure. Anyway, the games I remember seeing were Eragon, Flushed Away, and that Uno game (not Uno 52, but that other one), though there were a couple of others as well.
 
I managed to pick up Battalion Wars (GC) for $12.96. Got the last one at the Maplewood, MN CC. Finally a good enough price to try it out. Unfortunately I was looking for Final Fantasy IV and Mario Tennis: Power Tour which they didn't have.

Strange thing on this was I hit CC today and brought up two clearance games and two cool price games for price checks and none of them came up with a 25% off price on the price check. I really wasn't looking to buy any of the cool price games, but I wanted to check anyway. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck on either front yet???

The "Cool Deals" sales are always a problem. There are all kinds of games that have that sticker on them that don't come up with the discount when this sale happens. Just be sure to have the ad with you. If the discount isn't reflected in the price just show them the ad and have them adjust it. The ad does say "all Cool Deals games 25% off" so if it has that sticker on it then they should do it.

Batallion Wars is only 9.99 at Sears now.


I snagged a mario tennis. Wierd thing was I finally found a C:poR and it rang up as full price and not the 16.96 price from the April/May thread, sucks.
 
I bought Disgaea 2 today, rang up $16.96 so no "Cool Deals" 25% off for me. I also bought a 2.96 Space Channel 5 with a "Cool Deals" sticker on it and that DIDN'T ring up 25% off either. Has anyone bought any game that rang up 25% off?

Probably because Space Channel 5 is no longer a cools deals game and is a clearance game but maybe they could manually add the discount if you asked.

It's not the discount on $3 that I'm worried about. I was just wondering if the 25% off was in the system yet. I'm hoping for the glitch that happened last time where everything under $20 was 25% off. That's why I'm wondering if anyone had actually bought a "Cool Deals" game and had it ring up with the 25% off.
 
Circuit City.com shows the games that are cool deal games are 25% off online (a bunch are $7.49 instead of $9.99) so I would think it is in the system.

That's what I meant. It went from Cool Deals to Clearance, and since those Cool Deals games are usually great for just sitting there (The good stuff like Hixton doesn't differentiate itself well from the crap.), then odds are good (Unless you're unlucky like integralsmatic) that your store has Hixton. All three of the ones in my area still have some as of a while ago. If they actually pull these and tag them properly, they might move though, but, still, as a Cool Deals game, they're probably shuffled all over the game's section so they should be somewhere either in the bin or next to the "Pirates Legend of the Black Buccaneer"s etc etc.

I've seen it happen a few times. Those "Cool Deals" assortments come in different waves over long time periods, so its not unusual for different UPC stickers to be used. Sometimes they just dont get them all in the sale system, but if the sticker is on the game theyll always manually adjust it for you if asked.

Local CC's still have JC(360) for $39.99. It must be a mistake or YMMV situation. Plus, the website still shows it @ the $39.99 price.
