CAGiversary!

After much anticipation I present...the CC 50% off sale! Let me preface the list with a few comments. This is 50% off the regular price--49.99 will be 24.99, 29.99 will be 14.99 and so on. The price that shows when the game is scanned will be the 50% off price. Essentially, the included games should range in price from $4.99-$24.99. Each individual title's price was not on the list and I'm not about to scan every game to find out. :)
Second, I was not able to confirm this directly since the price changes will be downloaded over Saturday night; however, this list is printed directly from CC internal website. I have no reason to believe any of these titles are wrong. This does not prevent CC corporate from changing these prices or titles at any point during the week. OK, I'm sure everyone is sick of me covering my back so let's have some fun...

EDIT: This sale is actually UP TO 50% off. The 50% is not guaranteed. Some will be 50%, some won't. I'll list prices for games as they come in. I apologize for getting anyone too excited.

EDIT: I've changed the format slightly. I'm listing all games alphabetically w/console listed after when necessary. I just don't have time to type multiple titles multiple times. You understand, right?

EDIT 2/6 3:35P EST: Well, it seems there has been a lot of hype and not much substance so far. This list is legit as the scans on page 9 will show; however, CC corporate is not known for downloading prices on time. There may be more price drops Tuesday morning since, if not all prices were downloaded correctly, corporate won't realize it until Monday then download them Monday night. There is also speculation that the sale will increased as late as 2/20-21 for the President's Day sale. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find out anything else until Monday at the earliest. I am going to go ahead and post prices that are listed on the thread by fellow CAGs. I can't confirm these so I'm counting on other CAGs for accuracy. Essentially, lower your expectations some but don't give up yet.

Thank you very much to twiztidjester for answering the many questions that came in while I was posting this topic. I appreciate your offer to help w/the list. I just wish I would have noticed it before. :(

Also to demonmanTNA for providing a scan of the list since I'm scannerless. X-Division rules! TNA on PPV Sunday, 2/13!

There are different value classifications for the generic stamped games. It looks like pretty much all of the value groups are included in the sale. These might not make a lot of sense (even if you work at CC) but check them anyway.

Well, I think this is it. Let me know if I left anything off or made any bad spelling errors. I will try to post prices as they come in. Happy hunting, everybody! :D

Well, to be fair, the ad does say "Over 50 titles" and "Store selection may vary" so they're pretty covered.
I did find the last Twin Snakes for $20, so it wasn't a total bust for me.
I think it's $7 at Target.

Did see Thief for $15 and Breakdown for $9 but passed on both...figured if I'm powering up the Xbox, i'm going to be playing Halo2 so why bother...

Plus Phantom Dust and Splinter Cell:CT are out soon.

Holy Moly!! Last night I went to sleep a little early to prepare for this sale and this thread was only on page 4 or so. So what has happened in the last 19 pages or so. I really don't feel like reading all o fthem and am kind of in a rush so maybe somebody could just recap in a couple lines please?
im pretty sure the sale is meant to start next week.. maybe the prices arn't in the system yet? seems like CC learned about loading prices early from the $5 sale..
This looks like it might be the case, but I wonder why they would advertise that a bunch of titles were 50% off in their ad if they aren't actually selling a lot of them at 50% off.

It's a bust mostly.

FFXI is $37
Taika Drum Master is $35

Some titles here and there, but everything still regularly priced.
I really don't feel like reading all o fthem and am kind of in a rush so maybe somebody could just recap in a couple lines please?
Uhm...it's a trap?

Seriously though...the only deals I saw was Thief for $15 and Breakdown for $9.

Deal's a bust for the most part, unless you want FFXI or Taiko Drum for PS2. Maybe the real sale is next weekend.

That's about it, heh.

Went to my CC phildelphia pa and the employees and the manager of the the video game departments says that it was only for the crappy value games ......what a freaking sale for me to poop on !!!!!!!!

Yeah, I went to CC this morning right when they opened. I had about 8 games in my basket went to get them price checked to be sure they were %50 and guess what none of them were except F-Zero (GBA) because that was in the ad. So I spent 30 minutes going over games looking for everything I wanted only to be denied at the register. So this is either YMMV or the biggest hoax ever put on CAG. Man I was looking forward to getting SVC Chaos on the cheap too.

This."deal".Sucks.

I couldnt find ANYTHING at a decent price.Shadow Ops for XBOX was on "sale" for $20.99,EBs regular price is cheaper.

That's it? :? Then how'd we get 19 pages? I was expecting huge hauls and these are the only ones. Oh well I still need to go their anyway so I guess I'll just pick up Taiko or Thief then.

I picked up Onimusha 3 for 12.96, Splashdown: Riders Gone Wild for 14.96, and Metal Arms PS2 for 13.97.
I also Price Checked Second Sight and Psi Ops, which were 20 bucks, and WarioWare GBA which was 30, and Ridge Racer DS which was also 30.

The stuff I got was pretty good prices, maybe not hte best, but I'm fine with that.

No the biggest hoax ever on CAG was when that one guy said that CC was going to have a sale in a couple days but they didn't have anything. It was like 30 pages of nothing, absolutely nothing where as this one at least has a few games on sale at least.
Looks like corporate got their revenge for the 2 for 30 goof, and knew exactly how to reach people like us....
Somehow I kind of doubt they'd go through to trouble just to piss CAGs off.

I picked up Breakdown for $8.48. Almost picked up Spawn and I-Ninja for $4.98 each. Might go back for those. Deus-Ex and LoK:Defiance were $10.97 each. PGR 2 was $14.99. Taiko was $34.99 and FF XI was $37 something. It's not a bad sale, just not worthy of 20+ pages of hype.

I meant online bargain hunters in general, not just CAG's

You guys are looking at this all wrong. They *did* discount the games, but they had been clearancing all of these the past two months. They simply put that fact in the ad. SVC Chaos was $49.99, now it's $29.99.

However, I also took all of this to mean that games would be clearanced off of thier discounted price, not their regular price. We got hosed because of last Winter, when everything was marked off of the discounted price.

I too went up with a basket full of Jampacks and good stuff... then got hosed at the register. Best of all, SH: Covenance was marked down to $29.99 and STILL rang up as $49.99. Stupid.

As much as they lost on that day, I too don't believe that they would go through all the trouble. Not everyone in the world is a member of CAG,FW,SD, or one of the other sites and not everyone is into games.

Just came back from my CC. Had to do a Price-gurantee on Rise of Nations, so I decided to just see what they had for sale. Walked around a bit looking for actual red dots on the games to see what was on sale but no go. I did however see one of the employees with a fat stack of price tags as he was sticking them in plastic and hanging them in front of the games.

I took a look at one and it said FFXI for $37 something, (although he put it on the expansion and I'm pretty sure its the normal version w/ HD, which I didnt see), and saw Mark of Kri, Polar Express, and I think NCAA Basketball with a lower price on em. If you read the tags they say Red Dot game sale on em. Didn't feel like waiting or asking what was on sale, and figured I'd come later after they were all done.

its not that kind of trap. It was a trap to get us into the store, period.

I just came back from CC and expereinced the WORST EMPLOYEES EVER!!!!!!

There were 3 employees just standing around in the VG section chatting and i went up to them and asked about the red-dot sale.
The guy looks at me and goes over to the counter where there are at least 50+ RED DOT signs that were still in a bag. He then tells me that the people last night didn't put them up.

But it doesn't end there, i ask could a look at a couple of them and he shows me some and they just say "WAS THE REGULAR PRICE" but they don't have the new price written on them so u have to get all the games SCANNED!!!

I

//preedit.. after a second readthrough, it sounds like you're telling someone else that SVC Chaos dropped to 29.99.. if that's the case, ignore the post below.

SVC Chaos had a universal price drop to 29.99. My GameCrazy even has a used copy for 19.99.

:) got to love how people think just cause it wasnt this week these games be 50% off next week. Best to luck to all of you next week if they are 50% off , but going in today i wont go back next week cause they dont have jack on the list

I swung by my Circuit City today (Culver City, CA).

There's no indication that a sale is going on at all.

But even so, I took the time to locate the 2 copies of Breakdown that were in the store and asked someone to ring one of them up. Sure enough, it came to $8.48. So, I snagged that and one of the $4.99 sale dvds. ;)

Sawmill Road CC in Columbus, OH didn't have a lot to choose from.

They did have about 20 of the Halo 2 watches. I grabbed one with a $4.99 price tag, and after I checked out the person who rang me up told another CC employee to remove the $4.99 stickers since they're still supposed to be $19.99

*edit - in the clearance 'bin' they did have 1 month cards for EQ on the PS2 for $4.96*

What the shaq fu... I come back from getting a little sleep and I was expecting to hear a lot of "MAN CC IS DA BEST, THESE DEALS RAWK" but instead this "sale" looks to be a bust. I'm very sorry to everyone, I didn't even as an employee see this coming and I should of known better.

As one person said, it could be possible that CC is hyping up all the games that have recently gotten marked down thru this sale. Thinking about it, I think whomever said it is most likely right.

However, there were still a few good deals out of this - especially "Final Fantasy XI." So if anything I am glad that I helped a few folks find out about that. :D

But like I said.. I am sorry. I only wanted to help out my fellow CAG brothers and sisters, but I failed and miserably too. :(

My haul was similarly dissapointing. I had 'em price check about 6-10 games on the list, and only one was on %50 off. Walked out with $10 Deus Ex Invisible War, and $10 Beyond Good and Evil Xbox.

A friend picked up Resident Evil Zero for $16, and Mad Maestro for $5. That latter one is DAMN hard to find. So, got SOME good deals. Heres to hoping they get desperate in the future, about making room.

Just to let every one know Onimusha 3 is normally 12.96

Mad Maestro isn't hard to find. Not even a little bit.

You guys have nothing to apoligize for. :D Everyone who contibuted was just trying to help out their fellow CAGs. So what if this one didn't turn out to be the end all be all. There still are a couple really sweet deals to be had here (Taiko, FFXI), and I personally can't thank you guys enough for all of your hard work! :applause:

nah i dont think its anyone fault. People just saw that 50% off games and got overhyped. In a way im glad they didnt have tons of games cheap i still go around 40 games from the TRU 10 off 2 game deal that i have sitting in paper bags...

GOing to take those last 6 copies of Soul Cal 2 for ps2 to Ebgames this week and get 66 for them.

Definitely, you guys did a great job and put a lot of work into this even if the deals weren't (aren't) as good as we expected. It's a shame so many CAGs have to bitch and moan in this thread after you put all this effort into it.

BTW, I picked up Taiko Drum Master and Silpheed ($10)...I wish my CC would've had FFXI, but I guess I don't need it that badly.

Im heading over to CC now and i am gonna see what i can find out from my manager. Dont feel bad no one is gpnna thing you were ltying because you had a actual scan. :p

Picked up the last FFXI w/ HDD ($40) at my Circuit City in Danvers, MA. I had a feeling this sale would be a bust because from this morning their site said 50% off "Valentine's Day deals". But it was worth it to check. Guess we'll all have to wait until next Sunday. Thanks for the post OP!

Amen to that. Even if these games are marked down next week I won't bother going back... went through too much of a hassle today.

To the guys who posted the lists: Don't feel bad. You were just trying to help everyone else out, its not your fault this thing didn't come through. I think the OP suffered the most from this sale.... he spent so much time typing up the whole list and almost nothing came from it. What a downer.

Guys, here is what I got from CC just a few minutes ago here in the San Bernardino, Ca. store.

XIII 7.49
Thief Deadly Shadows 14.99
Metal Arms 3.97
Drake 5.57 (ha!)

Breakdown 8.48
Siren 17.48
Taiko Drum Master 34.99

Rogue ops 6.97

i checked out the 80th and 86th st stores in manhattan- mostly just because the weather is spectacular- and the same nonsale as others are reporting

but i did then go to a nearby gamestop and picked up twisted tales of spike mcfang, pro wrestling and super playaction football at 50% off for $6 total
