Does anyone own this yet? I have a couple of questions about it.

1) Can you save your progress?
2) If you can save, can you reset your save? If not, when you win are you stuck in the much harder stage after you win?

The more I thought about getting this game the more I realized how pointless it was. They already made am exact port of the NES Super Mario Bros. for Gameboy Color, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and it has more features. It has a VS. mode, challenge mode, and it has Super Mario Bros. For Super Players. It also has some other extras too. I guess the only difference is cost, it looks like Deluxe is going for between 10-20 on ebay, with ebgames.com having them used with no instructions for 19.99, while the classic Nes version is 19.99 new. I really wonder why Nintendo decided to release this new version with less features when there is already a better version out?

Short answer? Because they can.

But really I'm kinda with you on this one. There are many classic games, Mario Bros. being on of them. But I would have picked a handful of others to release first.

Anyone know what the next 8 games will be?

i loved smbdx, the only thing i disliked, which is the reason im buying this, is the way the screen scrolled, you could never see anything

Yeah here is the list for series 2

11. Mario Brothers
12. Clu Clu Land
13. Balloon Fight
14. Wrecking Crew
15. Dr. Mario
16. Dig Dug
17. Adventure Island
18. Makaimura (Ghosts 'n' Goblins)
19. Twinbee (Stinger)
20. Mystical Ninja Goemon

Despite the horrible prices, I may actually have to get stinger and ballon fight. Both those games rocked.

Dr. Mario might be actually worth it since it would be a fun on the go game, hmmm.... but 20 is still too much, hopefully i'll be able to find them on sale some time.

Won't be a US list until Nintendo of America sees how well Series 1 sells.

They are probably going to be dissapointed then, I think. I doubt series 1 will sell too well here. Hopefully they will get their act together and drop the price on series 2, if there is a series 2.

Paying $20 per game that can easily be purchased/emulated for far less money seems pointless to me. None of these games appeal to me on a "need to have on Gameboy" level. Bring them out for $10 a pop and we'll talk.
10 dollars does seem much more sensible, even 12.99...
Can't see paying more than that...

i think when they see how poor sales are for the games (besides smb and zelda) they will lower the price for the 2nd series or just scrap it
Nintendo of Japan is doing a reward system: if you buy all the games in the first set of games, you get a collectors box. Hopefully NOA will do something like that too. That would be the only thing that would convince me to buy more than LoZ and SMB.

You can see the box here: http://www.the-magicbox.com/Feb04/game022504b.shtml
You have to spend approx. $200 for a stinkin' BOX? LAME/10

The Dr. Wario version doesn't have any multiplayer support at all, though. If you want two player, you'll have to get the Classic NES version.
