In light of the 25th Anniversary Mario collection that is coming out soon, 1UP or POISON (http://www.1uporpoison.com) is giving away a download code for Super Mario World on the Wii's Virtual Console. To win, comment on any of our reviews that are about a Mario game or mention Mario in some capacity. For example: http://www.1uporpoison.com/2010/10/sega-superstars-tennis/

Every comment counts as another entry in the drawing. To be a valid entry, though, the comment must contribute to the discussion or say something about the review. Writing, "In for Mario!" doesn't count.

You can get a bonus entry for following us on Twitter (@1uporpoison) and posting the following: Win Super Mario World for the VC on Wii! RT + follow @1uporpoison to enter. Ends 11/10. Please visit us, too, at http://1uporpoison.com!

The contest will end Wednesday evening, November 10th. And I swear, if anyone complains about the contest this time, it will be the last one.

Daw, no whining at all? Man shucks.

Thanks OP. I tweeted and will favorite this and probably post on the site later.

Thanks...Entered on a few. Still can't agree with the "bad" on Mario Galaxy 2, but overall I really like the site. The simple reviews and "good" or "bad" ratings are refreshing to see. I'll be visiting again!

Contest is open for two more days. Remember, you don't need to register to comment, and every comment on a review of a Mario game or a review that mentions Mario (like Rayman Raving Rabbids or N+) increases your chance of winning.

I was going to register so I could comment on some of the reviews but after reading a few I can't say the site interests me at all. I personally disagree with many of the reviews and don't think the reviewers have the same taste in games as me.

I feel like we do a good job of being honest, not buying into hype, and not reviewing a game favorably just because everyone else is. We are just a couple of guys with our own tastes in gaming, though, and our opinions are bound to clash with some readers. I don't always agree with the other writers, either, and I usually point that out in the comments.

Thanks for checking us out, anyway, and feel free to participate in the contest, even if you have no desire to return once it's over. Again, you don't have to register to comment.

most of the reviews I'm interested in reading/commenting on don't involve Mario(like 360 games)
is it ok if I comment about your review/the comments and then at the end just say something about Mario to enter the contest? I like your site even though I don't agree with some of your reviews, it's always nice having a different perspective on a game aside from "zomg it's the best!"

Sorry, myl0r, but the review had to mention Mario. There were actually 15 reviews that counted, though, including Noby Noby Boy, Little Big Planet, and WarioWare DIY.

Anyway, the contest is now closed. We pooled all the entries together and drew Annette W. Congratulations! We'll send you a code for Super Mario World. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the site. We appreciate it.
