Gamefly sent me the Darkness and Blue Dragon today, so I don't think I'll be replaying Bioshock like I had planned.
start with the darkness then go do blue dragon... darkness, if you are a marathon non stop type of player, is quick but good.

Yeah, I wasn't prior, but school has turned me into a marathon gamer.

waitin on warhawk right now, should be playin that for a while until heavenly sword, lair, or i get my 360 back
just got done playing some gears on live. 1 group of guys was real cool and they where fun to play with, the other group that I played with was a bunch of immature little kids. I hate that.
You'll come across a ton of them on XBL (or any online service). That's one reason I rarely jumped into random online games anymore.

Anyway, today was an okay gaming day, but the rest of the week looks bright:
-Downloaded Tekken 5 DR online and playing it.
-Downloaded Puzzle Fighter HD for PS3 and played it.
-Played the Folklore demo early this morning (love the game too much)
-Played some Brave Story on PSP.

I'll open my copy of Wild Arms 5 and play that soon. I hope to get Warhawk next, followed by Jeanne D'Arc and DW Gundam.

Shelved FFTA for now (thinkin it's not for me, I'll return to it sometime later), moved back to FFIII. I didn't realize I had put almost ten hours into it before, but after checking the guide to see where I was, back on the move. Looks like I'm about halfway through it.

I'm finishing FFIII and FFTA as well botticus. but I haven't played my FFTA in over a year, and when I picked it up, i'm at 44 hours and on the final battle, but it's wicked difficult. as for FFIII, i'm 21 hours in and all my characters are at the comfortable level of 40.

System Shock 2. Just finished the hydroponics and shodan's amazing introduction. This game is so good. Can't wait to play bioshock after it.

just got back to my apt after a few torturous days at home. well, the visit was fine, but I was dying to play all this:

--Metroid Prime 3
--Tekken Online
--Puzzle Fighter
--Oblivion (360...definitely doesn't look as good or run as smooth as the PS3 version)

Going through The Darkness since I never got to see the ending due to my save being overwritten.

I hate the part where
Jenny is killed.
Is it really? Noice!! I was expecting another delay. . .
Maybe that would have been better. Reviews haven't been kind to it.

I'm still getting it though :p

I am too, I am getting a little tired of first person shooters so this will mix it up quiet a bit. :D

Lair gets universally panned and you guys still dive in? That's like hearing about a girl's slutty transgressions from all your friends, but still hitting it. Have fun.. You heard about how Factor 5 gave nintendo the clap, though..

Yes, I am still getting it. I've been waiting for it so I'm going to try it. If I hate it I can throw it on ebay, if I like it then I'm happy.

Well you see, if I have interest in a game and it ends up getting mediocre reviews I'll at least rent it/buy it cheaper. I have a chance to get it cheap from credit when I turned in some games so I'm at least going to give it a shot. If I hate it well I'll trade it back in, or throw it on e-bay, or sell it to a friend. Either way I am going to play it because there are a shit load of games that received bad reviews that I still ended up liking. I don't let reviewers tell me what to like and what not to like I'll decide that myself.

I said the same thing about Rebel Strike. these aren't just bad reviews though.. people are dusting off the 5's and below.

Well I hope they're wrong and you guys do enjoy it. Better sell quick, though. I remember my $50 Rebel Strike was barely worth $15 a few weeks later.

System Shock 2 is so freaky. Even these old ass low poly models manage to creep me out sometimes. Few games have actually given me such a real sense of dread about continuing into a new area. Annelid Arachnids and Assassins have to be the worst. The way the assassins sneak up on you just sucks. The voice acting of the hybrid characters and the midwives is very creepy too. I remember one room with a bunch of eggs in it, so I started blasting them, then all of a sudden this twisted female voice comes "For this, I'll tear out it's spine..." and then the you hear her mechanical footsteps approaching.. I cannot wait to play Bioshock after this.
That's like hearing about a girl's slutty transgressions from all your friends, but still hitting it.
You say that like it's a bad thing, probably means she's more open to suggestion in the bed room.

Anyhoo I finally finished collecting kittens in Superman Returns last night, so my holiday weekend is free to enjoy the pure magnificence (hopefully) of Bioshock. Maybe I'll even get round to playing Forza 2, but I doubt it.

I cant believe that people are still picking up lair after being univerally panned. I always thought Factor 5's games had sucked after the first rouge squadron on the gamecube. The only reason the second was decent was because it has a co-op version of the 3rd game.

This is just another one of those games that look pretty but have absolute shit for gameplay. The need to put in the options for non motion control and to have some analog suppot. If warhawk can do it then why cant lair?

Im cancelling my preoder for lair and offically declairing it the biggest let down of the year.

winrar :applause:

yeah, I'm staying away from Lair until it's $9.99-- the right price to "ooh" and "ahh" at pretty graphics. Too many truly good games are out right now and coming out to justify a high price for this one...

I feel you. I just picked up Blue Dragon and i must say its alot better then most reviews. Its certainly not a AAA quality game but its at least an 8 or so.

I think the only thing left for my ps3 this year is heavenly sword and rachet. Next year looks alot better ps3 wise.

GameInformer didn't hate the game, so it's not universally panned. Also the 5 from EGM is about a 7 from everywhere else since they consider 5 to be average.

Right.

So anyways, The Darkness is badass. The more I play the more I realize why I couldn't get myself to get rid of it when my save file got overwritten.

Played a little T5DRO last night. Just practice mode as I would get royally owned with how bad I was doing. Still, the game look pretty...berri pretti. I like.

Oh yeah, and I really want (a deal on) Eternal Sonata.

played some gears this morning before class on live. that's pretty much all that's on the agenda for the rest of the day.

So you bash Lair and then pick up another mediocre game. . . Awesome logic.

You still getting LAIR?
You still getting LAIR?
Definitely, with my in store credit I'll only be paying $10 for it. I probably wont get a chance to get it for a few days though due to working doubles for a few days. You'll have to let me know your thoughts on it when you play it for a few hrs. I trust your opinion more so then other people since we seem to like the same games 90% of the time. ;)
Yeah, I'll be getting it in less than an hour and then I'll be playing.

Hope I like it.
I hope you do too, let me know what you think. I updated the OP with one of my favorite video game quotes of all time. In case anyone wanted to check it out. ;)

Got the T5 patch but haven't really messed with it yet.

I did re-read Volume 13 of Berserk though, and it still pisses me off. ;_;

I too liked GX, but I wasn't a fan of the eventual snaking BS that people found out about. I was good, until my friends discovered it. Then I stopped playing.

I bought the Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles for PS2 for my son today, so I guess that's what I'll be playing now, LOL.

Rediscovering the joys of unbalanced old-school RPGs... had no problem beating
Hein
as the previous boss in FFIII, but now I very quickly got my ass handed to me by the very next boss,
Kraken
(with only a short dungeon in between). Guess I'll be doing some grinding tomorrow.

played the folklore trial, and was surprised at how cool that game was. Will have to rent it when it comes out, like how they did the sixaxis in the game.

Played a bit of Crush in school today, then came home, went to Wally World, and ended up picking up Ape Escape PSP for ten bucks.

I need to stop buying things, I have five games I'm juggling.
that game doesn't really hold up, does it?
Eh, it's a decent little platformer. Once you get past the fact that it makes even less sense than your average Mario game and that Mario drops like a rock it's fun :)
playing gears tonight. the gears tomorrow. then gears for the next week. god I wish I was just born good.
Lol like Gears much?

I really, really, really enjoyed F-Zero GX, but never had the minerals to finish much of the game. It really was underrated and overlooked. Did you ever play an AX machine? The way the cabinet rotated and tilted was great. A local bar/restaurant/arcade had one here for a while and I played it every chance I got.

I think Super Mario Land holds up okay. Good music. But SML2 and 3 blow it out of the water. I played so much of the first Wario Land (SML3) when I was a kid.. we had every treasure, the vault maxed out, all that stuff.
