Chacy, I've gotta say that I woleheartily disagree with your review of Wii Sports.

Well, let me qualify that. I don't care for the game at all as a single player. For that, 3/10 would be about right I think as it's just pretty boring. But as far as multiplayer goes? It's perhaps the best party game ever made. Bowling and Tennis are fantastic, golf, baseball, and bowling are obviously less than stellar, but can still be fun.

Now if you have no one else to play with because they're not interested or not around, that could seriously but a damper on your outlook on the game. Part of the charm of Wii Sports to me is the thing that your aveage too-cool CAG member hates is that it does get non-gamers playing. I love that I've played Tennis against my Dad and Grandma and that my inlaws have played my wife and I in bowling. It adds a novelty to the experience that I've seen no other game capture.

Maybe that's it. As a video game, Wii Sports isn't necessarily the most fantastic thing on the planet. But it really melds into something more when a group of people come together. It borrows from people's love of board games, chatting, ribbing on each other, and just otherwise desireing to have fun as a family or a group of friends and enhances that.

That sounds way too gay and esoteric to be taken even remotely seriously. But, long story short, because your opinion is different than mine, you obviously have no friends, no family, and probably no electricty. That is all.

like Daroga, I'd have to disagree with the Wii Sports review too. well, agree as a single player game.

Like everyone else, Wii Sports captured the full attention of everyone in my family at Thanksgiving and Xmas last year. It was a shitload of fun. I have no doubt the game will be busted out again this year and I'm looking forward to it. The last time my parents or siblings tried gaming was like 10 seconds with SMB1 when we got it in 1986. They quit after dying on the first goomba

So for that, I'd bump the score up to sentimental/10.

Haha... okay, fair enough. I did play the game with friends on a few occasions, but the sessions only lasted for 10-15 minutes. It just wasn't that fun and we ended up going back to playing Smash almost immediately. The novelty of the Wiimote is interesting, but I couldn't enjoy playing the game no matter the circumstances. While I'm sure that casual gamers love the game, I don't think that really warrants giving the game a higher score when I never once found the game enjoyable.

So yeah, difference of opinion. It's really a polarizing game.

BTW, did you get my Mii? I'm sure you deleted it immediately for... obvious reasons.

Me? I'm not sure, haven't had the Wii plugged in for a week.
BTW, did you get my Mii? I'm sure you deleted it immediately for... obvious reasons.
He lived a happy 16 seconds on my system until I loaded up his name. Good work. ;)

Have you tried Wii Sports with some people who don't play games much, though? My gamer friends and I have yet to play it together, but I've played a ton with people who aren't gamers and it's a blast. If I've got gamer-skilled friends around there's plenty of other stuff I'd rather play, but Wii Sports is a ton of fun with another segment of people.

And Jekki? Mega Man Powered Up ROCKS. Tough as nails in places, but I love it. It, Maverick Hunter X, and Loco Roco are the 3 "gotta have" games on the system I think.

Well I hope you saw his face. His features were spot on. Like, there was no doubt.

And yeah, I played Wii Sports with two of my friends who don't play many games and they thought it was kinda interesting, but once again, we stopped after like 10-15 minutes. Maybe it's different when playing with family, but my family never had any interest in the game so...

just got home from work. i'm too tired to bother with consoles, so I think handheld is probably going to be the thing tonight. probably some final fantasy tactics advance...

Just finished Metroid Prime with 97% (missed one missle expension).

I'm trying to decide between Fable: The Lost Chapters, Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, and Majora's Mask.

I'll throw in a vote for Onimusha, just because I love the series. I need to play more of Dawn of Dreams myself... now that I think about it.

That game must've sold horribly because since it's release, I've not once heard the Onimusha name mentioned... despite that the game's really good.

Go with Onimusha: DoD.

And I have to side with Charana, Wii Sports was fun for about 20 minutes, then I just got uber board. I would have sold / traded that sucker off ages ago if it wasn't for the fact that I can't

And yes I tried to get the family involved, but nobody had any lasting interest in, besides teh usual "oh that looks cool" response I get from them whenever I demo *anything* to them.

Trying very, *VERY* hard to plod through the last half of FF6, but for whatever reason, I just can't get into it anymore. It's like I've lost my will to play Old School RPGs.

I'm gonna shower and play me sum more Person 2 tonite!!

saturday nite aloooooone~~ I almost had a date today but she was like "I'm not free after 5pm"

Still trying out my new PSP. Stuck on Gitaroo Man, working through Megaman Powered up on Easy with Cutman. Suck at LocoRoco. And plugging away at Daxter.

That's about it right now.

I've been playing a lot of games...

PS3
Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE - Been playing this online and offline vs friends throughout the course of the week...

PS2
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 - Started replaying this last week, trying to go for a perfect run of the game with all items/max S. Links/and all Personas...

PSP
Tekken Dark Resurrection - Practice mode on the go!

Cave Story - Been playing this too, trying it on hard mode now...

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles - Been playing this every now and then in anticipation of the final product...

Wii VC
Super Metroid - I love this game... I haven't replayed it in years...

I'm going to be selling a bunch of games/stuff this week as I have finally come to a realization... I have too much crap in the house... :(

I'm replaying Super Castlevania IV. Considering that I basically don't do that, it's a testament to how good that game is. And this coming week, I'll play through Super Metroid again. Not playing as many games right now as usual, mainly because I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo with most of my free time. So whatever.

Reading is for squares

What did I miss? Tried firing up the NBA 08 demo for PS3 earlier today and there's no sound. wtf? It's the only game that does that, so I'm assuming it's the game. Eh, maybe I'll try re-dl'ing again later. Or just play it on the 360. :p

I think I'm getting OC over T5DRO because I can't stop thinking about the stupid game and how I'm supposed to beat Kinpachi on default difficulty with Christie and what kinds of shit I want to buy and how Christie's little victory spin-dance is so lame but still awesome to watch...sigh.

Also, what the hell is in that Halo 3 Game Fuel Dew that makes it so enjoyable despite the fact that it tastes so shitty? Yum, I mean, ick.

gunm, 100% easy way to beat Jinpachi/any character on any difficulty in T5DR...

Go to RLX do 4~3, combo, then repeat...

Use this combo...

RLX 4~3, HSP 2, WS+1,3, RLX 2,f+3 ... it's a pretty straight forward juggle, no timing involved, just do it as fast as you can... You'll be amazed at how the CPU gets hit by RLX 4~3 all day... doesn't matter the difficulty either...

Thanks, MM. Was sort of in that "wanna figure it out myself" mode at first, but after awhile the losing does get old. :p

Well if it helps any, the CPU is retarded, you can't play them like you're fighting a real person... once you know it's weakness you can abuse it all day :/

hehe, it's as real as a fireball coming out your second face-in-the-belly-button baby!

Spittin' hot fire son!

Yeah, I'm drunk.
wow... fisrt apossum and now gunm... alot of tekken converts. good to hear.
lawl, actually, I was playing the Training mode and wondering how the hell I ever found DOA to be an acceptable game. Actually, I realized this when I was able to attack somebody on the ground... in DOA, when you knock somebody down, it's a game of "hey, can I run away in time so I don't get tripped?" Which is bullshit. So is random countering.

I like Tekken DR. A fuckin' lot.

thinkng about going and picking up jeanne d arc and rune factory at the B1G1 50% at CC today. I need a new psp and ds game to play, but my monies doesn't want to leave my wallet.
wow... fisrt apossum and now gunm... alot of tekken converts. good to hear.
where are you? I want to play against you again now that I've had a lot of practice. Who cares about work and school, quit both :)

I got disconnected by PSN oh, about 500 times last night.

And NBA Live 08 sound still no workie. Wonder what I'm doing wrong. And no, I didn't RTFM. That's for wussies lawl.

BTW, wrong thread, but can you mix and match handheld systems with the CC sale? I asked in the right thread, but I don't think I got an answer...

How long is that deal at CC gonna last? If i dont pick up heavenly sword i might pick up Tales of the World and Brave Story

I might finally finish this damn Metroid Prime 2 review. For some reason, it's been difficult to write. Well, gettin' there.

1400 words so far...
How long is that deal at CC gonna last? If i dont pick up heavenly sword i might pick up Tales of the World and Brave Story
it lasts until 9/15, which I'm pretty sure is next saturday.
Wait, CC has some sale on handhelds games??? I didn't catch it at all.
yeah it's buy 1 get one 50% off. just this week though. I wish it was extended.

If I had the money I'd get Dead Head Fred and something else. But I really shouldn't spend it.

Played Tekken DR on the PSP last night. I fucking hate Jinpachi.

Jeez this is a bad time for this sale. I want to pick up heavenly sword next week, and then stranglehold for ps3 and world in conflict. Then halo 3 the next week and the week after the orange box.

After thinking about that and wanting to save up for a new HDTV this black friday, im gonna have to pass over this sale.

Im playing Jeanne D'Arc I think im about half way done with act 3 anyone know how many acts there are?

Shit, you're right, there's a ton of epic games out & coming out and I'm fresh out of cash :(

Oh well, picked up THP8 for 360, liking it so far.

stopped at a used media store on my way to CC and found Yoshi's Island DS for $19 and SMB Classic GBA for $13. Turned around and skipped CC :D

Cyberball and Fatal Fury is the only thing I've really played this week. Outside of my brain training.

I'm tempted to stock up on PSP before I get the Daxter pack. I'm leaning towards Parappa and Loco Roco.

oh that circuit city sale it extrememly tempting to me, but I really need to save money.

other than that, i'm playing bioshock again and working slowly through crackdown.

Metroid is a ton of fun... I'm really glad I didn't wait to play through the first two games before starting the new one. Not even sure I'll be able to go through those at this point due to the controls, probably just gonna sell them while they're fetching decent money.
you really should play through them if you get the chance. they where amazing games bott.
Kinda hoping for Wiimakes in the future. I played about two hours of the original Prime, wasn't bad, but I do hate the view controls.

Yoshi's Island DS is great. More of the same, but that isn't a bad thing when it's more of the best 2D platformer evar. Go ahead, try and challenge that claim!

I bought 12 games in the month and half before I bought the Daxter PSP bundle.

Not sure what to get out of teh CC handheld game sale (assuming there's still decent stuff tomorrow)...I want Ratchet PSP, but have no idea what to get on top of that...maybe Brave Story.

Or, I might just skip all dat and save some money...
