I wonder if the site just isn't able to handle large volumes of hits anymore. Back when the Nintendo Power forums were around, the site and forums got huge amounts of traffic. The forums there were the most active forums I've ever seen (God, I miss them...). Perhaps Nintendo just doesn't have the electronic manpower anymore to support all of us pinging the site every second.

I expected the site would be un-usable for a couple days since everyone and their cousin would be trying to register stuff. But still not working properly two weeks later, that's horrible. How hard can it be to make a site that works properly and can handle a decent amount of traffic. If the site wasn't crap people would have been able to go there once, register, and not have to come back, and the total traffic on the site would be much less. I wasn't expecting it to be good, but this is just pathetic.

I had no problems with the site earlier today and entered a bunch of my kid's Xmas acquisitions, but maybe I got in before the onslaught? I just logged in and it seems to be working fine, but all I did was check my total. After the xmas entries we are up to 440 points.

It actually works now, I'm getting no problems. I don't understand what we can register. Do Wii games have that code to enter on club nintendo? Or is it only DS games?

Any nintendo Wii or DS game will have the code

But where do you locate the code on the Wii games? I know where to find it on the DS games, just not on the Wii games. :p

I thought both the DS and Wii games had a sheet of paper inside the case with the instruction manual that has the code on it.

Maybe, but I don't know. I can check, but I highly doubt someone would just decide to throw away that piece of paper. Well we probably usually do which is a bad thing, but I believe we didn't. I'll check the Animal Crossing game.

Edit: What do you know, I found it. I guess we either did throw them out, or they just weren't there. :p

concerning the VC games that show up in your to-do list without coins/survey (got this from support section):

Why am I not getting a survey for my registered Wii Shop Channel games nor Wii Channel downloads?
There are two types of surveys for earning coins: "Product Registration" surveys, which provide us with information on how you purchased the game; and "Post Play" surveys, which allow you to share your opinion of the game or channel after you have used it. Because we already know where you aquired the Wii Shop Channel game or Wii Channel, the only survey for registered Wii Shop Channel games and Wii Channel downloads are for "Post Play" questions. So that you have enough time to use the game or channel before responding to the survey, please allow 4-6 weeks for the "Post Play" survey to appear in your "To-Do" list. If a Wii Shop Channel game or Wii Channel download was activated manually for you by Nintendo, it will still take about 4-6 weeks from the time we registered it for you before the survey will appear and you can earn coins.

Sitting at 430, still have three DS games to register, and a friend is giving me a Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn code since the one I have is bad, and a Pokemon Pearl code. Really trying to get the Game & Watch collection.

I can finally log in after going through the transfer process one last time! Took all the currently available surveys and am sitting at 440 coins. I have 9 Wii and 18 DS games listed as eligible that haven't been reg'd yet, so Platinum will be no problem.

May have been covered already, but:

Should I register family members under the family account or give them separate accounts? Can each family member obtain their own Platinum status as part of the family account? The question I'm leading to is: Would we be able to get multiple Platinum rewards per year?

I have exactly the same question and want to be sure before I do anything with their accounts!

I'm fairly certain that the FAQ says you can only get coins for one copy of each game per family account, so I'd go with separate ones if I were you. I'm probably going to split my duplicate codes between my girlfriend and one of my friends, who are both into Nintendo yet strangely don't care about registering games or Club Nintendo at all and volunteered their accounts.

Prediction: Gold status reward will be a set of the rainbow stylii...
I'm dead in the water at 440 points, but their site seems to be running slightly smoother now.
Well, it seems to be back up and of course my shit still isn't there.
 fucking Nintendo

"We love ruining things" - Nintendo
Now, all of my previously registered shit is listed on the "Products Registered" page, but none of the survey-generating titles are generating a survey.

Another e-mail sent off to Nintendo...
I have exactly the same question and want to be sure before I do anything with their accounts!
I went ahead and added my brother as a family account and none of the games he had previously registered have surveys showing up. They weren't showing up before he became part of the family account either so it has nothing to do with that but he is pretty pissed none of the games have come up

I decided to register most of my stuff today and made platinum so I ordered game & watch
I still have about four wii games and four ds games to register.

If you enter the codes for the Wii games and DS games, but dont fill out the surveys until the roll over.. will they count towards next year platinum... or for the year you actually enter the codes?

Who knows. I still don't understand why I can't get points for any VC/WW games yet (Namely the 1 I can get points for)

According to that FAQ page (which I think is updated), you only get points for Post Play surveys (not registration) for downloaded games, which will probably show up 4-6 weeks from the launch of the Club.

I have an extra Mario Kart code, willing to trade for any other 50-point code, excluding the following:

Strikers
Galaxy
Brawl
Wii Play
Fire Emblem

An elite status is based on the number of Coins earned in a Club Nintendo year. The Club Nintendo year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. Club Nintendo members that reach Gold or Platinum status by the end of the Club Nintendo year will be sent a special reward. See our FAQ for additional information.

It would seem that you must do the survey to receive the points, so you could load up your account with registration and save the surveys (since they dont expire for a while).

Is the site fucked again? I can't get it to take my login info.

EDIT: NM, I'm a moron. It kinda helps if you put in the right password...:wall::dunce:

I bet that this year the platinum/gold rewards will be lousy.
Why?

Because they know a lot of people will easily be platinum because of previously registered games for the last year or two.

I Just Received My Game And Watch Collection!!! Woo!

edit: lol, this forum converts text from all-caps to normal? That's awesome :D

SERIOUSLY! I'M TESTING IT OUT RIGHT NOW!

Anyway I probably won't be getting anything from Club Nintendo for a long time.

Let me know if it's worth my points. I have enough, but I wanted to wait for a review or some word of mouth on whether or not it's worth it.

I think you quoted the wrong person. But that's ok. I think you meant to quote dcgm.

I watched a gameplay video of the Game & Watch collection, it includes 3 mini-games and that's about it. I don't know if it's worth 800 points, but I'd buy it just to have it, as it's a club nintendo exclusive. It'll probably be worth a great deal of cash someday.

So yeah that's just my opinion on it.
These stank asses still haven't responded to my e-mail. I want my previously registered games, damnit!!!!
Call them - trust me. I've been trying to get them to fix the same problem with my account via e-mail with no luck. They kept giving me b.s. answers that had nothing to do with the problem at hand. I called them today, explained the issue, and the representative filed a report for me and told me that someone will fix it ASAP. Now we wait...

Yeah, but we're only getting a half year, so that might balance it out a bit.

Thanks! I figured I'd get it just because I could. I just kept worrying that some other game I REALLY wanted might come along, since I think there were others in Japan but I'm not really that well-informed.

... and yeah I fucked up the quote. heh

I got my Game and Watch Collection today! I know there's not much to it, and it's only got 3 G&W games on it, but I'm still very glad to have it in my DS collection.
^ Yeah, I'm sold. I'll get it.
^^ I want one too
Also, aren't wiiware registrations automatically registered to the account the wii is registered to?
Yes, they are. Codes for these don't exist.

Well I have 940 coins after registering all of my game,s so I ordered the Game & Watch Collection. I am not expecting much but it has a cool case :)

What is this crap from Nintendo. I bought 2 damn copies of Clubhouse Games I should be able get points for both copies.

Also to other comments: it says gold/platinum status is valid for a minimum of 14 months so no point in waiting.

I think they don't accept doubles, I don't know why. :p

I really highly doubt I'll be buying any Wii games, so I'll have to rely on DS codes. Hopefully I still have that piece of paper inside the DS cases, which I have to find.

Sorry for being teh noobz. #-o
^^^ You might have better luck if you post it in the Registration Trading Forum here:

Thanks for the thread info sooners.
Yes, they are. Codes for these don't exist.
I did not know that Wii Ware were auto registered. Thanks for letting me know, J and Slim, I never bought a Wii ware game before.

It is about time they did this here. Drooling over those limited DSusususzz in Japan and nintendo themed limited controllers.

Fellow Cagarooz that need codes or want to trade.

Hope all teh fellow CAGz get lotz of cool stuffz from teh Nintendoz.
Yes, they are. Codes for these don't exist.
Yes, I am so smart SMRT. Forgot to steal the codes from my mom's copies of Brain age and Clubhouse games. I'll have to call her and get them.
