Clubhouse Games

Well, dropped a preorder at GR today. I figured I don't mind paying full price (well, not really since it is GR credit) for one copy. If it ever becomes bargain-bin fodder I can get a second copy for the kids so we can do some Wi-Fi play when I'm traveling. That way I won't feel bad when I find it on clearance or reduced price at some point later :D.

In the mean time we can play some single-card local wireless play (that is what cinched it for me more than the Wi-Fi aspect).
Picked it up tonight.

FC is 3222-0293-0499
Bah, I'm not even going to ask GR if they have it until Friday - not worth the time wasted to dial the phone before then.
Incredible deal...$19.99 is beyond worth it for this.
can i buy it this week and get the difference back the next week?

does best buy do this?
can i buy it this week and get the difference back the next week?

does best buy do this?
You can, but could only get the $5 off. You can't use a GGC when you go back for the price adjust. And if you use the GGC now to get it for $25, I don't think they'll give you any money back next week because you already got it for $25. I couldn't be wrong on that point though.

After playing the single player for about 2 hours last night ("stamp mode") and a game of checkers online, I can say this si easily worth $20-$30. A lot of the more simply games are just obnoxious (Old Maid? Seriously?), but the more advanced stuff is great. I suck a lot at bowling, but maybe that was bedcause I was trying to play it while 1/2 asleep, in bed, without disturbing my wife who had to be up in 4 hours. ;)

Man... it's going to be hard to wait until Sunday to save the extra 5 bones. My wife is pretty interested in it from the websites that I've shown her... so I may just have to go out and pick up one for her and one for me.

F**king gamestop. Didn't get the shipment in today. Whether its their fault or Nintendo's, I don't know what the point of an overpriced POS store like GS/EB is if they're not going to get stuff in on time. I bet you my CC has it in right now. Too bad I have store credit I need to use.
Err, I'm a semi-noob when it comes to being a good cheapass, so can somebody tell me what GCC means?
GGC.

Gamer Gift Card. It's this gift card at Best Buy that has a $5.00 off coupon on the back of it, you just put a small amount of money on it and then use the money on the gift card and the coupon for whatever game you're trying to buy.

I usually just put the value of the game on the card, and then use that and the coupon.

Us CAGs would usually put about a penny on the gift cards, so we would have a large stockpile of them. However, Best Buy has since put a minimum on how much you can put it on it (I think it's $5.00 now.)

Anyone else not have it arrive at their local EB/Gamestops today (10.10.2006)? Sheesh.

I want to play me some Hi-Ho Cherrio.

Wait, Texas Hold 'em. Yea.... that's what I mean. 9_9
Picked it up at BB. One DS game after another, keeping me more interested than my 360.
40+ games for $30 is a steal. If this had been on XBL, the total would be over $200!

Can't play XBox Live on the crapper, nor is is it free either.

DS FTW.

I'm going to have this game by next week, we definitely need to have a poker group, with 8 people playing on certain nights :D

I suck at Poker, but if we can have a regular group that would play for real and not I AM IN ALL THE TIME!!!!! that would be a lot of fun :)

I will grab it for $20 after GGC next week, and I'll be game. Finally something I can probably get myself to connect to Wi-Fi for.

Well i just played a game against a stranger today and we checked a lot more than we called/raised, so it was definitely not an "all in, all the time" game and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed blackjack a lot too, but there doesn't seem to be the ability to split in wi-fi multiplayer...don't know if its possible in single player.

All in all, a very nice feel to it. I hope we can get a group together.

Can you stack the GGC coupon on a item that's on sale? I thought that was prohibited.

I can't remember ever doing it.

I've never had a problem doing that with games that are in their ad.

I picked this up on Tuesday and have been playing it non-stop.

-I love the way they renamed "Bullshit" into "I Doubt it"
-There are no splits in single player Blackjack/21. I do like the way you play, however. You start with 100 chips and three CPU players. After 5 hands the player with the most chips wins.
- Controls are touch only, for those anal people like myself who live in fear of scratching their precious bottom screen, beware.
- Rules are customizable, and cover numerous variations.
- It's $24 bucks at Fry's today. Getthegame, already!
No daroga, I fail at puzzles like escape. fuck them actually.
Is there a hint somewhere? I just want to finish easy stamp mode. Played it almost the whole time I was waiting for the Wii this morning... nothing.

I dunno. I just picked up Clubhouse Games today and am not that impressed with it. The games I've played so far feel *very* stripped-down and greatly lacking in options. For instance, in Bowling, all you basically get to do is throw a ball down the lane using the touch screen. There isn't any hook/ball size options which even the shttiest bowling game will have.

And some games feel like they were throw in there just for filler purposes (Bottle Shake, Billiards). I haven't played much of the card games yet, which is the bread and butter of Clubhouse Games, so I'm sure those will be a bit more redeeming than the ones I've played.

Was really hoping to jump into this game this weekend but stupid GR still hasn't gotten it in yet. I may have to shell out the $5 premium to get it at EB. (I have credit at both places that runs at 50% cash cost, so GGC + PM at Best Buy is still more).

Snagged it at Best Buy today for $20, looking forward to playing. Let me know if anyone's put together any sort of times for CAGs to connect.

GR finally got my copy in on Saturday. I played a bunch of games with my kids last night and then played stamp mode myself later. I think I'll crack open that DS Lite I have sitting in the closet, and give my Teal DS to my daughter. That will mean we have 3 in the house. This is the "killer app" for having multiple DS's. I'm a bit worried, though, that the kids will get bored pretty quickly with it, and I'll have opened a DS for nothing (which, otherwise, I would sell).

Anyway, once I decide which DS to use, I'll post my friend's code.

True enough, some of the games are plain stupid (Bottle shake? And Old Maid for that matter), but there's plenty there to play. I had heard such bad things about billiards on CAG, but my kids had a lot of fun with that. They hate bowling because it is so damn sensitive (every ball -> gutter). I just unlocked Word Balloon (ie, hangman) and Ludo (which is sort of like Sorry, I think) - they will like both of those.

I got my copy for $20 at BB on sunday and I'm more than happy with it. It will take me a few days to get familiar with all the games, but I'm looking to play with you guys WiFi soon.

i got my self a copy of it today also , and wow i love this game i am very happy with th epurchase its now a made my top 3 DS games...

worth the money.. and worth buying new..

Got a copy and pretty much I echo what everyone else has said. Even the shitty games (particualrly Pool) have a bit of play in them.

So after playing though the "Easy" stamp mode, I decided to try the Mission mode. Man, some of those are going to be very hard. The easy ones - Memory and Spit. Blackjack took me a while but you can get through that with luck. I did the darts bullseye one, not TOO hard (3 bulls in 10 chances). The bowling ones will be difficult (3 strikes in a row, hit same pin 5 times in a row), and the pool ones are pretty hard too, but if you keep at it, you'll eventually luck out. Some of the others, though, look damn near impossible.

You have to "clear" misison mode to get the second music choice "Pop". Not really worth it, but I wonder who is going to actually be able to do that (or have the patience for it). You also get a new icon for every mission you finish, so that might be motivation to do some of them, anyway (got a cool Scorpion one for one of them - will probably be my Wifi icon :D).
