rage reunited trumps everything else

i will buy the 3-day and barter/scam for a access/parking pass/hotel room if that's actually going to happen

had to go to Ebay for tix to see Radiohead there 3 years ago, but Pixies essentially opening for Radiohead was phenomenal. No other way to describe it. Death Cab and Belle and Sebastian earlier in the day was sweet, too.

The last two years have had disappointing lineups, IMO. Not enough for me to make the trek down from Berkeley, although if I'd still lived in Phoenix at the time I might have gone in '05. Certainly wasn't interested last year...although this year may blow me away, from the looks of things.

Rodrigo y Gabriela and the Hold Steady would make the whole mess worth while for a guy like me... adding Morrissey would be too good to be true. Coachella's been pretty solid. Too bad I'm on the other side of the damn country.

I will fucking drive to California if that was going to happen.

Someone else posted a link from the LATimes about this...seems possible!

I Need to see the official line up. I've been there the past 2 years and a few times before that. Its always a great time.

Coachella has been a pretty solid festival throughout its lifespan, Ive been to the last three and dont regret one second of it. People travel thousands of miles just to attend the festival, last year i met some people that flew in from brazil. No doubt this festival is epic.

If I had the cash to See rage, DFA and Lupe i would be there. I definitely be there if they added Jay-Z, Beck, Ghostface and Underworld.

Someone needs to post more info on Rage. WTF, I never thought they'd ever play together again. They need to go on tour with Wu-Tang again......Heaven, indeed....

I thought underworld was broken up ?

I saw RATM about 13 years ago. Shit was in a tent during a muggy summer. The things that I remember most is the American flag backwards and upside down on the speaker and the fog of human humidity that hung over the crowd in the "arena".
SPRETTY MUCH CONFIRMED:
The Police (an legit insider confirmed the offer to the band)
VNV Nation (numerous magazines and websites)
Morrissey
Bjork (or Sugarcubes)
Nitzer Ebb
Echo and the Bunnymen
Sisters of Mercy
Wilco
I'd sell the still-beating heart of my first born to see a lineup like that.

I'm also not naive enough to think you'll see half these bands perform there. By the time you get down to Morrissey and Depeche Mode, it's like someone was starting a concert rumor by writing down bands scrawled on their high-school backpack.

I'd also like to use this opportunity to say, if you like Gogol Bordello, you have the wrong opinion and need to be slapped.

I suppose that, in spite of who won't be playing, it sounds like a stellar show. I've spent my "really expensive concert ticket" money on seeing the Pogues in Chicago this March, so I won't be able to go to this.
I have been a devoted RATM fan since 6th grade, but I doubt I will be able to go to this :(
Same. When I saw the news I was trying to think of ways for me to go...but it's pretty much impossible.

I was in the 11th or 12th grade when I had tickets to the Beastie Boys/Rage show in Atlanta. That shit had me so pumped because Rage was/is my favorite band. Well, one of those guys from the Beastie Boys fell off his bike, or something, then Rage broke up. I missed my only legit chance of seeing them.

I only pray that this leads to some kind of reunion tour.

HOLY SHI!!!! RATM reuniting? I thought there was no way in hell that they'd come back together. Hallelujah! Is there any info/where'd this come from? I haven't heard of this from any where.

By the way, myke I like Gogol Bordello.

Last I heard the DJ Darren Emerson left, but the group is still together.

Nine acts on that list I'd pay to see. But without Tool or Nine Inch Nails, I'm not that tempted to go. Which is good, cause I really can't afford to.

I feel a bit similarly, but seeing Rage is more than worth it to me...but I probably can't afford it.

BUMP!! 12 days to go! RATM is also playing at Rock the Bells thus lowering my excitement level SLIGHTLY but hey, can't complain. I'll be attending all three days and parking an RV at my uncle's house (who coincidentally lives 5 minutes away from the Empire Polo Fields).
How many of you CAGs are attending?
