I see you.

Various machines are not pictured. My Atari collection is boxed up because I simply have no room for it. I'm trying to figure out a way to store them so they can be seen. Diddo for my Sega Genesis collection, my Sega Saturn collection, Jaguar, Collecovision, Intellivision, and 3DO. I've simply run out of room. I'm even considering selling off large chunks of my collection, as I mostly just collect Nintendo stuff, and don't have room.

My mother also is a die-hard gamer. She's got a complete set of US Sega Saturn games, originals (no copies), plus a ton of Super Famicom imported puzzle games.

My collection involves a single shelf that holds around 30 some PS2 games, a CD holder that has around 20 PS1 and DC games and a stash box full of GBA cartridges. Sorry, I don't have the time or money to compete with large collections.

Very nice. Where did you get those shelves? They look kinda neat with that bi-colouration. I'm guessing it's laminate on top with just the sawdust-board underneath.

You are one creeping looking dude. I'm sure parents in your neighborhood don't let their kids around you.

You have way too many NES & SNES games maybe you should give afew of them to me :D

Seriously though I wish I had room to put all my NES & SNES games out like yours but I don't have any room so they are all in plastic bins or all over the place.

Are all of those NES games different & with about 500 NES games how did you get most of them as in yardsales, online, flea marketing, own from back in the day etc.

Dam I just noticed in the one picture you even have 2 R.O.B.s set up side by side lol

You should take a picture of your mom's Saturn collection. I have about 60-70 Saturn games and would have liked to have gotten afew more back in the day myself that I never found cheap enough. Owning all of them is pretty hardcore I wouldn't mind doing for a system such as the Saturn or Sega Master System but I don't think I could shell out for all the bad games has it would get expensive even at an average of $5ish a pop for every bad or sports game.

Wow... if I had that much stuff, I'd wonder where I was going with my life. It's hard to have money in college due to food, alcohol, and women, let alone games.

But great job on having all those games that you'll probably never play. I feel much better now that I have a backlog that seems more doable.

:applause:

I... asked for the promo stuff. Yep, just walk up and ask. You would be suprised. Once they're done with them, the stores just throw them out. If you're lucky, you will find someone who doesn't like to waste stuff (such as I've found).

Believe it or not, I *really* haven't spent that much money on the games you've seen. I don't buy games off of Ebay. I don't buy every game at full price. I've got some tips.

1. If you're going for complete collections, or collecting in volume, build up cash for stuff like $5 Circuit City super clearance sales. See all those Gamecube games? 40 of them were bought for $5 at Circuit City. Toys 'R Us has the green tag sales, and sometimes good stuff slips through the cracks. I bought Devil May Cry for $1 last year, plus a handful of GBA games.

2. Garage Sales and Nickle Ads. Go through them. If you go to a garage sale and they don't have any games out, suck it up and ask the person running it "Do you have any Nintendo stuff?" Garage Sale people love to make sales, and they might just pull out one from a closet or something and sell it to you. Plus, visit your Goodwills and various other junk stores. Go to pawn shops.

You dont look like the person in your avatar, all this time I thought you were an overweight boxer, damn you for confusing me :headache:
so do you have in your insurance policy a note saying "$35,000 worth of plastic"?

=]
Actually the collection is insured and for more then what IGN's estimated value is. IGN doesn't grade on things like rarity, condition, etc. If you have a larger collection, a different policy might be in order in said of just paying the Homer Insurance... no wait, that's home owner's insurance.

very nice collection. I would love to have that many games, but alas I don't have enough room or money. I also can't justify having a bunch of games that I will never play, and just have them taking up space. However If you got those for good deals, then thats good.

It's amazing the number of people who make fun of your collection...

Yet here they are, logged into a video game website for "dorks". Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

AWESOME collection buddy. Keep it up.

and yes, I am a dork. Damned proud too.

I'm sorry this insurance policy only covers real items, not made up stuff...
That's a sweet collection. How much money you actually waste on that?
well its not a waste if he likes it. lol..

what does your wife/girlfriend say about this? do you cover it up with a black blanket hoping it wouldnt creep her out?

Didn't you read his post? He lives with his mom ;)

Damn, evertime I see collecgtions like that, I can't help but feel like an idiot for ever trading away a game. If I never traded in a game (or sold a system), my collection would have easily rivaled yours (though my room looks a lot shittier than yours  ).

word, college sucks. I miss when I was able to spend all my money on video games.

I'm not making fun of you or anything, it's a nice ass collection but whats the point dude? Do you even play half those games. Video games were meant to be played, not to sit on a shelf for all eternity.

That's why I limit what I keep to only games that are truly great and that I know I'd definitely play through again. It's dumb to have games that suck and just have them so your collection is bigger... I'd much rather have fewer games that are all great than a huge collection filled mostly with garbage.

See, and that sounds perfectly sensible to me. I keep games I know I will want to go back and play later on, everything else I just kind of trade for new stuff. If anything, people should focus on beating as many games as possible instead of trying to own as many games as possible that you will never play.
