ok back onto the BEST PART. im going to hong kong this summer, for about a week. starting august 15 and returning 29. i will be at thailand too, but dont think i will see games there, so back to HONG KONG for a week. that means i get to shop my cheapass off.

THIS DOESNT EVEN HAVE TO BE A GAME, you can get those cute mashimaro plushes for cheap. well this will be cheaper then any site you get your imports from, trust me. if not then dont bother flaming. AND NO BUYING SOMETHING REALLY BIG, or giving me a list of like 20 games. im doing this out of my own free will.
 
I've always wanted Vib Ribbon for the PSX. $20 seems the asking price so under that would be nice.

If you can get Cosmic Smash for Dreamcast for $20 - $25, I'm game for that too.

I want the Japanese versions BTW. Who knows if those are easy to find.

I'd love to get some Sega Saturn fighting games....like capcom ones...if you see any in decent condition please let me know.
 
If you could fine the Godzilla or Gamera games for super famicon, I'd appreciate it. I'm looking mostly for the sfc godzilla fighting game. They go for $35 on ebay so if you can find it for less, I'd be thankful.
 
One import I am constantly trying to find for a reasonable price is the Capcom Generation 4 collection for the Sega Saturn, released in Japan. It has three games on it, the arcade ports of Commando, Mercs, and Gunsmoke. I'm trying to find a copy w/spine card if possible for under $30. I would be very grateful to get ahold of this.
 
I'm pretty interested in getting a few imported games, but I don't know anything about importing!

Is there anything that I can buy to make my American systems play Japanese/imported games? If so, how much and where.

If there isn't a converter from Japanese to American game/game systems, are the imported game systems a lot of money?

Finally, are there any import games that I shouldn't miss out on? I have a GameCube, NES, N64, pretty much all of the GameBoys, a Genesis, and my sis has a PS2 that I can play. Also, any rare games that you could get for cheap in Hong Kong?

gamecube, you need freeloader, NES and N64 i think are region free ( plays imports), gameboy and genesis are the same. ps2 needs a boot disk or a mod chip.
 
I heard that Japanese N64 games don't fit in American N64 systems. So, where can I a buy freeloader, boot disk and a mod chip for a reasonable price? Thanks.
 
I was expecting to pay more than $20 bucks for the freeloader, but I've got two questions before I get it.

Is that a reliable site?

Is that freeloader of good quality, or is it a crappy 3rd party item.

Don't need one, but damn I want a Treamcast! If they have them there for like $75-$100 I'd love to get one. Know you're looking for older consoles...I have a Saturn bundle if you're interested in it to get the price down. I have:

Also, has anyone ever heard of Mario and Wario? It never came to America and I would like to try it out, but I don't know what system it is for.
 
Mario & Wario was a puzzle game for the Super Famicom (SNES). If you own an SNES, you can play imported games on it by breaking two small plastic tabs off from inside the machine. They are only there to prevent you from playing imports, so the system will work fine afterward. The N-64 is the same way, but the plastic wedges will need to be burned off. For all of you guys asking for Gamecube games for low prices, you guys know that games cost more in Japan than they do here, right? So they're probably expensive in Hong Kong as well. (I know they are in Taiwan.)
 
I'll second the Vib Ribbon request. Are you still taking import requests? If so, I'd really like to have the Japanese Playstation version of Dragon Quest IV. I don't know what it costs there, so I'll just have to take a guess. I'd be willing to pay $30 used, $40 new, plus shipping and a finder's fee for you.

I'm wondering the same thing! If Mousin can hook me up with Giftpia cheap, and there isn't a translator available I'm about 99% sure I'm going to just try and learn Japanese. Good call on Mother 1 and 2 also, I still have hope that maybe they'll release that here.
