I am in college and clearly very cheap. I have my old computer chair that I used to use but with my current set-up it is far too high. It is a high back that goes up to my head (I am 5' 11'') and was looking at getting a decent mid-back.

I stopped at Office Max and I found a few I would like, but they are just more expensive than I was hoping. There was a cheaper one that was like $80 and then a noticeably nicer one for only $40 more.

Either way I want them cheaper, so does anyone know of any Office Max, Staples or wherever coupons or deals that could net me a cheaper chair?

Thank you in advance!

Id like to know myself my computer chair's leg has been snapped off like a year now i always lose my balance and bust my ass.:bouncy:

I don't know of any deals for office chairs right now but my suggestion is check out if your school has a surplus store, sometimes you can get a really nice chair there.

Or you could be like me and sit on an exercise ball X-D and it only cost me 10 bucks!

Some of the best (and nice looking) computer desks and chairs I've purchased have come from the Goodwill. Try that or if you know of a business which is closing (which nowadays isn't hard) go by there and offer to purchase from them. Almost 90% of the time those desks and chairs (as well as other office furniture) wind up next to their dumpsters. I scored 4 $200 chairs, a $500 oak desk and a server rack that way a year ago.

Some might sell you some (more than likely pocket the money) or give it to you for free. Others might be an a** to you (they are losing their jobs after all). Even though technically it's the company's property (as well as the dumpsters), any furniture left next to the dumpsters (by law) is fair game. All furniture items are suppose to be properly disposed of (stored to be shipped, shredded or broken down..yes unscrewed and put into dumpsters by any means necessary by law). This does not happen 99% of the time.

Hm, I may try the Goodwill idea. The tractor seat is just not that appealing to me, but thank you. I sit at the computer far too much, plus I have my other desk here for homework as well as drawing so I would like something cushioned at least and with arms.

I don't know if this will fit your bill, but I got this chair recently. It's not a high chair that lets you rest your head. It has lumbar support and you can adjust the arm rest height. It is a mesh chair. I've always had leather and they always start to peel off at a certain time, so I went with this one to see how it would fair. I got it for $70 including tax last week after using a $15 coupon.

You can find coupon codes online easily or buy them off ebay. Staples always have a $25 off 75 coupon, usually can be bought on ebay, so remember that if you decide to buy one at Staples.

i think i have that chair in different material. i like that its not huge in size but doesnt feel tiny. its reasonably comfortable too considering the price.

I bought my fabric office chair (assembled, with armrests) from Salvation Army for $20 so definitely check those stores as well.

I'm not sure if you're still looking, but I just got an awesome executive chair at Staples for half price (normally $200, got it for $100), and they had a bunch of others. So did Office Max, but not quite as good of a sale as Staples had. And Sam's Club had a pretty nice one for $100 too, but not as nice as this one. I don't know if it's local only, or nationwide but variable items, or what, though, so yeah...
