That's pretty sick, HumanSnatcher. I'm not exactly a fan of Rollins' music, but his spoken-word stuff is hilarious.
I've never heard any of his spoken word stuff personally. Though I swear, it almost seemed like every vein in the mans head and neck was gonna explode when he performed. You could tell that every damn muscle of his was tense as a mother fucker too. I'd love to seem them live again!

The opening band, The Riverboat Gamblers were really cool. The lead singer was constantly jumping out into the crowd. The security gaurd at the front of the stage was starting to get really annoyed because everytime hed stop, he'd have to go back and grab the mic cord to make the lead singer didn't snag it and break something. Hell the mother fucker climbed one of the probably almost 10 foot amp cabnets at the side of the stage and did a song in the balcony. The guard was like "god damn it, if he breaks his neck this ain't getting pinned on me!"

Ok, got back from the lunch interview. Met with the main guy and one of his helpers (girl named Nicky, who apparently is a head programmer).

Good interview methinks. Mostly he went over a few reservations about the job. For example, apparently the client I'd work for (a career center at Texas A&M) had some guy that looks like me in the past, and he was a terrible worker. So they have a problem with that, 'cuz I'm guilty by facial association apparently. Which doesn't bother me too much, as there's...not a lot I can do about it.

I didn't get the beard off before this, as I was in a pretty big rush, but it doesn't bother me to get rid of it for a job. He did mention that my attire will have to be more formal - tie and long sleeve button down shirt. Which, again, doesn't bother me too much, despite that I could t-shirt and jeans it up at the last place. Apparently, though, I didn't dress the worst, which makes me feel better (c'mon, it was black slacks, black shoes, and a button down short sleeve shirt, and I have no clue what they honestly expect in terms of clothes).

What else....he's really interested in ther software company my friends and I have (*cough* see sig), so I need to contact my boss and let him know he'll prolly get messages soon from this guy.

If I get it, I'll start Monday. There's some other issues...like, the guy I'd replace will prolly be a little difficult to get along with - kinda condescending, expecting too much, etc. Which doesn't bother me. I don't think I'll tell him to stfu, at least not in so many words, but I can handle someone like that just as easily as I'd handle them anywhere, online or off.

Also, on a lighter note, three CDs came I had ordered with Amazon.com gift certificates - Green Day American Idiot (Single, not the actual album, I got it for the non-album track "Too Much Too Soon"), Gogol Bordello Gypsy Punks (lead guy is the Russian actor from Everything is Illuminated, and they do a sort of East European punk thing, and I really like the "Start Wearing Purple" song which is heard on the movie's end credits, so I got this as an experiment of sorts), and finally Life Aquatic OST (which is completely badass, and I have the Studio Sessions with Seu Jorge en route soon).

Got here remarkably quick for being shipped out last Friday or so, media mail.

I guess that's enough updating for now. I'll keep on it.

Oh yea.

He also said the client expressed a problem with how young I look (I'm only 23, 24 in less than a month).

This is worth noting because, again, he's asked me to shave my beard if I get the job.

Additionally, to get a haircut as well (it's not very long atm, but it's been 3-4 months since a cut).

This is somewhat amusing because doing those things is going to drop a few years off my look, easily. I will seriously look like a freshman after that.

I guess that's technically a good thing in terms of life.

Hope you get the job Strell. Me personally, I'd take issue with the whole facial hair thing. Though I keep my goatee neatly trimmed and short, I'm not going clean shavin. Hell, I've only clean shavin once in the past 6 years...
Human, you should listen to Rollins' spoken word. I'm sure you could acquire it rather easily.
Yeah, I know. I'd like to know what the best DVD hes done of it is and see what the cheapest price I can find it at...

I can't pull off the 'stache, despite what my avatar might imply.

I've had a beard for 2 years. Mostly because I hate shaving. So I just let the damn thing grow out. But I do keep it cleanly cut and short with an electric trimmer.

That said, he did tell me that after a while, I could revert back to it. It's really more of a first impression sort of thing at this point. Once I've met with directors and things and proven that I'm a worthy guy, I can loosen up a bit and go to more slack clothing/appearance. Not too much, but enough to feel a little more comfortable.

It's hard to turn down a job on the subject of personal conviction, 'specially when you had to miss the last DDD sale. :(

:)

OK, so it's not a hard-fast rule. Good for you, as jobs that have weird/strict appearance guidelines usually suck.

You could claim you are going to be Santa this year?

I hear you about the shaving part making you look young. I'm finally getting to let whatever I want grow out, although I have shaved a few times out of habit and boredom. Finally starting to fill in a little. Sad, 27 and I can't grow a decent beard.

I'm probably going to have to cut my hair if I get the job as a guard at a prison that I applied for. It's a definite fact that I'll have to shave -all- of it off when I apply to be a true cop, too. Not looking forward to having short hair.

Most require that you cut it short and keep it that way. That way the inmates can't grab you by the hair and shit. I guess the George Thorogood was right in your case "get a haircut and get a real job"...ya long haired hippie lol

Strell- As a general rule, its always to be way over-dressed than moderately under-dressed.

Iron everything, tie, nice slacks and button shirt. It also shows you really want the job. You sound like you dressed to the target dress code...

The Village People ruined mustaches for the po-po.

I wasn't even convinced this was an actualy job until last Saturday, when they actually did reply back.

Until then, most everyone else I'd talked to thought it was a psychology experiment.

Then you should have been an overdressed lab rat. From what you've posted going in without the beard, a haircut and in a full suit would have given them time to worry about more important questions, questions that you could have responded to.

I think you missed the part where I've gone through, roughly, 5 hours of tests and interviews for this job so far. Which is understandable, as I think I've only mentioned it about four times by now. You know. Only.

If they haven't figured out what is and is not important about me by now, then I can't imagine working for them would be a wonderful experience.

That doesn't even include the lunch I just did today.

But ok.

Well, I guess my job is working int he control center, and not directly with innmates. But still, you're probably right.

.. Hippie? I'll kill yew, mufugga.

Seriously. I'll never grow a mustache because of them. Or Super Troopers.

If you really want to add some effect to it, tell the server that you want to hear the cow mooing its head off while they kill it before they cook the burger for you, because nothing says "I'm a fucking carnivore!" like hearing you meal being killed! haha
One of the ways I see it is that man didn't get to where he is by eating bean spouts and tofu...
You mean rape, disease, and George W. Bush?

So I got my PSMagazine today and in their review for Okami(Which got a 9.5 btw) they have a caption where they say, "You have to get this flower to bloom and attack it's weak point for massive damage." all they need is to add Renegade_Zero's HURRRR picture in the flower and Strell would be famous.
Overrated?
no

Both groups just seem to have their own style outside of their given genre, adn I really enjoy listening to both of them.

and this is the greatest thing since sliced bread how...?
Madden 2007 is damn addicting.
It seems All-Pro is harder than past seasons (maybe my fantasy team sucks).
I just have the recycle bin.
I still want to know how to get rid of that fucking thing. Or give it an invisible icon.
It seems All-Pro is harder than past seasons (maybe my fantasy team sucks).
I'm not having too much trouble with All-Pro, but I think All-Madden will be nigh impossible.
I still want to know how to get rid of that fucking thing. Or give it an invisible icon.
I think it can be done with Tweak UI. I just chose not to.

EDIT: Yup. Mine just went bye bye.
