Ok, got back from the lunch interview. Met with the main guy and one of his helpers (girl named Nicky, who apparently is a head programmer).
Good interview methinks. Mostly he went over a few reservations about the job. For example, apparently the client I'd work for (a career center at Texas A&M) had some guy that looks like me in the past, and he was a terrible worker. So they have a problem with that, 'cuz I'm guilty by facial association apparently. Which doesn't bother me too much, as there's...not a lot I can do about it.
I didn't get the beard off before this, as I was in a pretty big rush, but it doesn't bother me to get rid of it for a job. He did mention that my attire will have to be more formal - tie and long sleeve button down shirt. Which, again, doesn't bother me too much, despite that I could t-shirt and jeans it up at the last place. Apparently, though, I didn't dress the worst, which makes me feel better (c'mon, it was black slacks, black shoes, and a button down short sleeve shirt, and I have no clue what they honestly expect in terms of clothes).
What else....he's really interested in ther software company my friends and I have (*cough* see sig), so I need to contact my boss and let him know he'll prolly get messages soon from this guy.
If I get it, I'll start Monday. There's some other issues...like, the guy I'd replace will prolly be a little difficult to get along with - kinda condescending, expecting too much, etc. Which doesn't bother me. I don't think I'll tell him to stfu, at least not in so many words, but I can handle someone like that just as easily as I'd handle them anywhere, online or off.
Also, on a lighter note, three CDs came I had ordered with Amazon.com gift certificates - Green Day American Idiot (Single, not the actual album, I got it for the non-album track "Too Much Too Soon"), Gogol Bordello Gypsy Punks (lead guy is the Russian actor from Everything is Illuminated, and they do a sort of East European punk thing, and I really like the "Start Wearing Purple" song which is heard on the movie's end credits, so I got this as an experiment of sorts), and finally Life Aquatic OST (which is completely badass, and I have the Studio Sessions with Seu Jorge en route soon).
Got here remarkably quick for being shipped out last Friday or so, media mail.
I guess that's enough updating for now. I'll keep on it.
