Since when the

have people been rational? The last thing I'm going to presume is that people are rational. If a "bad guy" has a gun and starts shooting people, untrained

wits with pistols won't do shit to save people, the last thing you want are five random people shooting back at them, hitting who knows what and who knows WHO in the crossfire. Getting the right to carry a concealed weapon doesn't mean you think about when you shoot. It just means you passed a little 8 hour or so course, depending on the state. Police officers are trained to think when they shoot, to think of what could happen if they miss, if the bullet will go through the person, etc. The average person won't think of shit like that. A gun doesn't protect people, a gun kills people, anybody who says otherwise is full of shit, like most NRA members.
Oh, and the LAST

ING THING I WOULD WANT is people to be allowed to have guns in a bar. Yes, just want I want, drunken pricks with guns. Brilliant

ing idea.
I love how it's trendy to do this counter-culture thing where we say, everyone's an idiot, everyone's irrational, everyone's...blah, blah blah.
I'd trust three 21 year olds (by the way, most states, maybe all, don't even let you get a CHL until you're 21, which for most people is a Jr/Sr in college) with their CHL and 8 hour course ahead of some maniac with 5 guns shooting at anything that moves. You can discredit it all you want, but whatever remedial class is required to get your CHL is still better than some guy who didn't have it. Then you say the average person won't think of overpenetration, the effects of missing your target, etc. I agree. That's why they talk about things like that in the classes. I would hope anyone that's been granted the privelege of having a CHL has thought about these things extensively. They likely will have more than someone that's carrying illegally and never took a class.
Also, carrying in bars is 100% legal in many states, mine for one. To me, I'd rather see alcohol banned before concealed carry is. Afterall, everyone is a crazy drunkard :| and I've never seen a family of three die in a head on crash because a guy had a Glock on his hip.
If you want to make campuses safer, remove alcohol from the equation. Rapes will go down, murders will go down, accidental deaths, alcohol poisoning, drownings.
If some criminal wants to hurt me or my two kids out in public or in my home, you better believe I'll be drawing on him if there's no other way to remove myself from danger.
