What the hell is this all about.. I get the game on goozex and the damn audio cuts out like crazy and supposedly there is no word about a patch... I am just floored.

Does anyone here know how long the audio issues last? Is it just the first level or is it the entire game?

I am running hdmi and Optical (Toslink)...

This is a disappointing joke.

I heard one other person at GAF had this issue (can't remember the thread). Most didn't seem to have a problem, so I dunno if there was a bad print (which may explain why the PS3 version was held back one week).

Weird, I am running HDMI (video/audio) to my receiver..

Hope you get it sorted out because audio is a must for this crap-in-your-pants thrillride

Yeah my PS3 copy had an audio crackling issue that had me kind of upset for the first level only(i think). I'm on the fourth or fifth level and it hasn't come back. It's not worth missing out on the whole experience though. I thought RE4 was good and creepy, but this game makes me feel uncomfortable in all the right ways.

There's a thread on the SEGA forums on this (don't remember the exact thread but it's on Bloodshot forums).. I think they determined it's the Optical out that's causing it.

I haven't played full version, but the sound in the demo kept cutting out - and I'm using HDMI and Optical cable for sound..

I was going to buy this game pn PS3 but if they don't patch it.. I guess I'll get 360 version.
Send audio thru component, not HDMI, that should be a temporary fix until a patch comes out
No I have not played past the first level, as I didnt want to if it lasted longer..

I can change the output but I dont have the compnent cables for the PS3...

THis is a huge oversight in my opinion. I will see what I have for cables.

Sinistar... I heard the 360 version has some save bugs and a few people mentioned the audio as well on that version.. I would read around first and take the lesser of the two poisons.

If I had actually bought this game I would be utterly pissed.

Snake, I just got an email notification that I'm getting Condemned 2 on PS3 from Gamefly. SO I'll see how bad audio is on full version.

I also have a colleague who works at Monolith (developers of the game). I'll ask him if he's heard of if there's a fix for this or not.

Sinistar,

Wow a bit of info from Monolith would be great news.

The audio clipping I am experiencing is on the full version... MY LFE (SUB) drops first then the Blue light on my received (DTS or whatever) turns off and its like the receiver loses the audio feed for a split second... then it picks back up.

I had read that if you turned rumble off it might go away and that did not work for me..
i got mine from amazon a few days back and i've had no issues with sound
What type of sound are you using, I am hooked up with Optical...

OK I got it from Gamefly today. I will keep it for a few days. I will try out the sound, so it's pretty much on the first level or throughout the whole game?

If you guys wanna try some multiplayer, add me to your list. :)

..and Snake, my friend at Monolith doesn't seem to know, since he didn't do any testing on the PS3 version.. lol.. he was in QA but I guess he got moved to production on Project Origin.

I read today a GAF somewhere that there's a patch in the works and will be here soon. I have no idea what soon is, but at least it's coming.

I actually just bought this, should be here early next week.

OK the sound cut out for me for the first two levels.. like someone kept turning off my surround sound system every two minutes.. and lol this even was happening during the pause menus.
It seems to have gotten better now, but it still cuts out. I had to turn on the subtitles in the game to hear what was going on.
I hope they fix this in a patch, if they do, I'll probably buy it when it gets down to $25-30.

So I beat it this weekend. I was somewhat sick with the flu so I was able to postpone any work i had and relax which was awelcome change.

The sound did get better after the first two levels... then in the last three ti got worse than it had been previously. I would jump out of game and turn off optical and on HDMI and then run the sound through my TV speakers for a level then recheck it.

So its an issue and it got worse for me late in the game. I still enjoyed the game and think this is what Manhunt two should have been.

I just started, gone thru the first 2 levels, and have had no problems so far. I'm only running HDMI through regular HDTV though. No surround or optical etc.

Yeah you wont have an issue then... its something when the optical is used along with a video (maybe HDMI only) option.
