where do you get your dvd-rips from?
youtube?
lol

Not everything is on Hi-Def. Anime anyone?
Still DVD-like quality and still epic. It's more important for streaming IMO.

what size is your tv? 19"?

on a 55" tv, all these xvids look like youtube videos...compression artifacts are horrendous. Save your time, get a netflix/bb subscription and watch upconverted dvds..

Perhaps you shouldn't try to stuff a feature length film onto one CD. Try two, it looks a lot better. ;)

PlayTV will be bigger and better. here's what IGN said about it:

Users will be able to watch live digital TV using the device as well as record shows direct to the PS3's hard drive, which they can then watch back either through the television or via a PSP, by connecting to the home console wirelessly over the internet (in much the same way as LocationFree TV). In addition the PlayTV box contains two TV tuners, enabling users to watch one programme while recording another.
im glad i got the 60 gb hard drive.

playtv is only in korea/japan (i think those two) but anyways
its only over there right now, sony would have problems trying to setup a playtv base/satellite thing over here...

lol doesnt matter if ya got the 60gb, u can easily upgrade but i cant wait till home and playtv do hit the USA

Europe gets some sort of TV device too. Hope they settle whatever issues there are still in the US and we can have something similair.
No, but I will show you people who love everything and everything microsoft and who hate Blu-ray and the PS3 just because they are made by Sony, and therefore degrade the games on them for that very reason. I have seen people go into the PS3 forum just to troll and stir up trouble and the format war thread and such. I never saw ManaKnight troll, just post his opinion. Trolling > Fanboyism.
And I have never seen those posts so I can attest to those being true.
Agreed! LET TMK BACK IN!

Also, I'll be really happy when Divx is on PS3. TVersity forces me to use tons of compression when I'm converting on the fly, if I want shows to not skip when playing over my network. I do'nt know if it's network latency or the conversion that's messing with it, but playing it in its native format couldn't hurt.

Are we getting Xvid, as well? Apparently 360 is getting that too...

I think xvid is built in with divx codec...

How the hell did Microsoft beat Sony to the DivX punch. Not only do they have it first but the 360 supports WMV. Unless Sony get DivX and WMV out this Thursday they are playing catch up.
