Confirmed: GS/EB Edge 10% discount card for $2!!! GI postcard or online pdf

It seems like this thread has turned into "I GOT MY 2$ EDGE CARD TODAY!!!' If someone is not going to post the pdf, why is this thread still here?

I believe a CAG who hosted the $2 form had been served a cease and desist notice. So no one is going to host the file publicly.

Btw, I mailed off my from last week and my check has been cashed. A positive sign.

So, unfortunately, no one is going to get the PNG file from me anymore. I can't believe the PDF isn't out there somewhere, though. Or another copy of the PNG. All copies have been removed from the Wayback Machine (archive.org)...and it's no longer on SD (most likely also got a C&D). Google (and other search avenues) turn up nothing. So I think they're been pretty thorough in shutting it down.

And I still can't believe I didn't keep a copy of the original PDF. That is totally unlike me. Must've had a day off or something.

Exactly. The thread on Slickdeals also had it removed.
 
Well at this point ill have to decide if it is worth it or not.

fuck paying $7 shipping for a $3 card they are going to regular mail me.

I rather just pay the extra 5 at gamestop to get the 3 Game Informers right in the store + the card right now, instead of in a few weeks.
 
I would rather just pay the $3 in store to get the card renewed. I have too many magazines as is and dont need another one.

Wow... I must've missed that in all these pages. Only $3 to renew? I never knew you could do that. So, is it as simple as going into GS, showing them my card, telling that that I want to renew, and then paying them $3 to do so?

Is that based on something or do you just assume you will only pay $3 since you don't have to pay Shipping in the store. My guess is that gamestop won't sell you the card by itself.

I seem to be in the opposite camp all by myself. I got a deal through a CAG thread a few months ago for just a Game Informer subscription for about $6. My last two purchases from EB/GS were Odin Sphere during the summer clearance and Legend Of Kage 2 during the Taito sale, both new.
 
Can't believe this thread is still going. Are people actually still getting this deal? I think I may still have one of the $2 cards around somewhere (DO NOT PM me about it - if I find it I'll see what I can do though I don't want to go anywhere near that cease and desist crap. Anyway, I think I kind of sort of remember recycling it when cleaning my office a few months ago as I figured there was no way it could still be useful).

Is the deal changed though? There's no use messing with that original form if they won't take it any more. (Eidt - Just read back a few pages and it seems they still do the $2 thing, amazing - I figured by this point they'd just trash those).

Heck, it has almost been a year for me so I could renew I suppose. Though I think I will actually just do it in store (it is $15 as far as I know to renew as well - don't know where that $3 came from), Since EGM up and died, I don't get any game magazines any more and they make for some nice time-wasting on airplane trips when you can't have the DS out (the hour or so of take-off/landing time on cross-country flights). I've gotten enough out of GS this year that I think I can splurge on that and give one of the cooler local GS clerks the sale.

That is where i got the $3 from FYI.

That's what I thought. I think the ability to buy the edge card alone is just for GI subscribers through the mail. I doubt that gamestop will renew it without you buying another year to GI for $14.99.

i could almost guarantee that you CAN NOT get it for $3 in store. the promo itself is only through the pdf online and the cards inside the magazines. just like the 2 year subscription is only available that way. they scan the mag and hand it to you in store so it is likely tied to that and probably have no way of making it $3.

Oh snap, OnyxPrimal! You're our new hero. I could have sworn a kept a copy of the original image that was posted in this topic, but I guess I never did. Not making that mistake twice, LOL.

I was just going to do some 'creative editing' via photoshop or even MS Paint of the new $10 Edge-Only image, to set it back to $2, but now I don't have to. I have just about a full year on my current card left, but to hell with paying $15 for a new card/renewal in store for a shit mag subscription, or sending them a check for $10 so they can send me a freaking card in an envelope with a $.42 stamp, $7 shipping is absurd!

My current $2 Edge Card expires in July but I will buy another $2 Edge card just in case they begin to crack down on this. If I can get an extra six or seven months of Edge Card for $2 it is still worth it.

Damn, I wish I had known about this sooner - got suckered into buying a subscription+card at local GS the other day.

Nice find. Has anyone tried calling to use their credit card, as written in small print, to see if they could get a card that way?

7 dollars shipping and handling? For a membership card? Hell no, just on principle.
I did actually renew my sub to GI...I'm not getting many magazines nowadays and I got a year for about four dollars.
2 bucks would be worth it.

Not that I know of. For $2, you can afford to extend it a few months early if you want to get in on it now. But people have waited and its still going through. IIRC, they stopped the $2 cards in the mags around June?

LOL, open the image in MSPaint or another pic editing program, and shrink it down to the appropriate (or relatively appropriate) size of a postcard.
 
Wish I could get my hands on this coupon again. Have an edge card, but wouldnt mind getting a couple of extra for the GF and family to store credit on.
