I'll go with Pikmin 2 as well, the purple and white pikmin added a lot more to the game. I also enjoyed the minions on City of Villians.

I hate to jump on a bandwagon, but Pikmin 2 was built around the concept of minions. They were the perfect little servants, completely ready to die for you.

Final Fantasy VIII. Say what you will, but having the Guardian Forces around made the game an absolute breeze. I don't think I ever once bought new weapons or armor. (Even if using the Guardians did practically double your play time.)
