Late on this, but Mary Louise Parker =
i didn't know who she was so i looked her up on imdb -- i think it said she was born in 1964... not too shabby for a chick that's 45 sometime this year.
Damn, I would go crazy if I had to eat dining hall food all the time. I am glad that I have a meal plan, but I will also have a kitchen to cook meals in.
$300 month, plus utilities. Three bedroom, ONE BATH.
Liquid, we got most of our furniture from friends and family. Bulk trash day works, but look out for them love stains.
That's ing cheap as hell, dude... at least compared to around here.
A one bedroom one bath with open floor plan (so there was a large room for like a living area and then a separate kitchen was ~$975 3 years ago. I think they included heat if I remember correctly. And I wasn't even in a major city!
As far as furniture goes, hand me downs are the best, most likely, but another great opportunity, if you can find them down in the 105 degree heat of TX, are yard sales. I've sold enough old furniture at them to make me believe other people sell old couches and tables and desks and such for reasonably cheap prices.
The girlfriend and I pay $899 for a jr. 1BR/1BA (think studio with an actual curtained room), and they don't cover utilities (we pay gas/water/electric). Without roommates, that's pretty much the best in the area unless you're living in GuadaLaHabra (and we're 15 minutes from Anaheim).

Wish I could find a place around here for something comparable to that price.

This is more in line with prices in my area. Nothing cheaper than like $800-900 a month. I take home around $1300 a month so I could probably make do but it would be a bit on the tight side.
If I knew someone that would be willing to split the cost I'd do that , but that's not really an option either.

"Guys, i'm cooking dinner tonight, hope you like anchovies."
Luckily I didn't have to carry the media shelf. I mean, I paid $100 for something to keep my dvds and games on, so I didn't expect it to be lightweight junk, but damn, it was heavier than the couch.
