Cooking Mama (Wii) $30 shipped at Amazon

In all honestly I'm surprised this isn't down to $20 by now. I'm even more surprised that GS still sells this game used for $45.

This seems to go for 40+ on Ebay. Thanks Cheapy, I might bite although I wonder if I could luck out on a clearance somewhere. I never see this game, though.

Jesus. Some of them are $40+ used with a fair amount of time left. Seems odd, doesn't it? Could this really be that hard to find and that highly sought after?

If the DS game came out as a budget title why did it come out as a full priced Wii game?

Majesco doomed the game by releasing it as full price. IMO 30 should have been the original price.

I got this game on Sale for $30 awhile back from Best Buy. Since then I've never seen it this cheap again. I've seen plenty of new copies on shelves for $50 but It's hard to come by at $30. Cooking Mama 2 is supposed to be out by the summer but if It's anything like the DS version then this would be the better buy.

I liked it on the DS, but have been hesitant to get the Wii version due to concerns about the controls and content. Can someone who's played it give some information for us fence-sitters?

Once this game hits $20 or lower I'll bite. My wife loves it but we've rented it and "beaten" pretty much all of the recipes.

I'm shocked this one along with other titles from closer to launch haven't hit the $20 price point yet. I guess that's due to the lack of software getting sold for the Wii. The consoles are flying off the shelves but with the exception of a few the games have has mediocre sales.

This one will be a $20 or $30 title for Wii by the end of March.

it is $30 right now ....

I think he means it will have a permanent price drop to either $20 or $30, not just randomly on sale for that price.

I'd consider it if there was free shipping or if i was at $20. I love the DS games, but I rented this and don't want to pay more than $25 for it, preferrably $20.

I don't know how much lower this one will go. It has been out of print for a while and other than Target and a couple of other retailers, most have sold out and never got more copies. I know of a couple of TRU locations that have 1-2 copies each, but that was before the holidays.
Is this 30 bux in store too?
I found it at target.com for $29.99, then used the "Find it at a Target store" and it found them at the stores nearby. I can't promise it'll be $29.99 in store, however I've used this function before from Target.com and it has always been the same price (and successful at predicting/stating store stock). Here is the direct link to target for cooking mama wii:

Actually, if Wii titles weren't selling, I'd expect retailers to slash prices sooner to get them out of the stores and free up the shelf space for more profitable titles.

From the sales numbers I've seen and the anecdotes I've heard, Wii games are selling very well, which is one of the reasons some stores are loading up on the bottom-bin shovelware titles -- they're desperate for more Wii titles to put up for sale. "Wii games don't sell" is just one of those unsubstantiated myths that get tossed around, like "Wii owners only buy casual minigames"...
It's not $30 in store. I scanned the bar code at the closest Target and it came up as $49.99 still.
That stinks - it does say on the website that prices can vary based on store/location so that must be the caveat that allows this. There used to be (perhaps still is?) a 10% off code somewhere; I do not recall where it is though.

I checked a2zdeals.com and they had some target codes on there; one for $5 off $50 purchase (HIY96LSB) and free shipping on orders over $50 (no code given, automatic perhaps?) Maybe this will be of use to some people (understanding that the game is only $29.99, but this is all I could find right now).

Picked this up when it was on sale at gamefly. I liked it a lot more than the DS version, 2-player and the cooking friends make it a better experience. I'd say it would be worth it if you had someone to cook with that also liked the original.

I saw cooking mama for the wii at my local target today (1 whole copy left) and it was labeled at $29.99 - so it is quite possible that the local stores have updated their pricing. It was on a label on the shelf, not affixed to the game itself.

I would imagine this would be clearanced in the near future at Circuit City. The local CC has quite a few in stock and it would seem premature to plop down $30 now to be able to pick it up for $16.96 in a month or two.
SDers are reporting that this rings up at $19.99 at Target B&M. I'm going to check it out tomorrow.
Although out of stock, that is also what their website is showing:

You can also use that link to check store availability.
(I couldn't find Cooking Mama on their website at first, but then I used google and easily found the page )

I've always told myself that if this dropped to $20 I would definitely pick it up. It's more fun than it looks, and does a good job at mimicking real kitchen tools and recipes.

It's priced at $19.99 at Target.
So, 20 is the cheapest it will be for a while?
Even PS2 games don't really drop below $20 at the retail level. It may be clearanced at Circuit City for $17, but the $3 shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's a pretty fun game, not great though. Even if it comes up used at gamestop.com and you use the 25% off coupon, it's still going to be about the same price after shipping. If $15 is your mark for this game, I'd probably get it now anyway. If you were thinking $10, keep waiting for craigslist in a year.
