I was curious if it was possible to copy a downloaded PS2 save to the PS3? I was thinking about getting MVP 2005 for the PS2 and using a downloaded roster. Is it possible?

Can't really think of a away right now sorry.

I guess the question is, do you have a way to get your downloaded PS2 save onto a PS2 memory card. If so, you can get the save onto the PS3. If not, I don't know. You could try putting it on a memory card (like an SD card, memory stick, etc) and copying it to the PS3, but I kind of think that won't work.

I did this for NCAA Football 07 rosters. I don't know if there's an easier way but here's what you need.

-PS3
-PS2
-PS2 Memory Card
-PS3 Memory Card Adapter
-Max Drive (or Action Replay)

I copied the downloaded save to max drive. Then I used my PS2 and max drive to copy the save to my PS2 memory card. Then used the memory card adapter to get it on my PS3.

If you want just get me the MVP Baseball save (in max drive format) and I'll upload a PS3 save. But it might take me a couple of days to get it done. PM me and I'll give you an email address to send the file to.

Thanks...I'll try to find a PS2 save. I think MVPmods.com or EAmods.com is suppsed to have one soon. If you could convert to PS3...that would be GREAT. I need a GOOD baseball game again...and the 360 is not BC with MVP2005 yet!.

i have been trying to figure this out as well.. and no you cannot do it like that...

for instance, gamefaqs.com has saved games in max and codesaver formats etc.

there is a program to convert it to other formats... im curious which format extension does the memory card use? is it .npo ? or something else

far as i know there are people working on converting the formats to .psv format ( which is a ps2 saved game on ps3 ) but the problem is that the ps3 digitally signs the saved games, so if you try to edit the ps2 file, it becomes corrupted... so perhaps in time this will be solved :) personally i hope so becuase i have DBZ tenkaichi2, and i want full everything! grr
Yes, you can do so. You need a PS3/PS@ memory card adaptor. Here is a link:

It's about $15, and I've found them on almost every visit to my local target, if your local EB/GS does not have them...
I just wanted to say thanks for your suggestion on going to Target. EBgames/Gamestop were sold out and I called Target and they had 2 in. Also managed to pick up a Wii Classic Controller, and to a lesser extent, badly needed dish soap. Thanks again!!

So, anyone know if any progress has been made in the field of downloading PS2 saves to a usb flash drive and getting them to work on the PS3? I really don't feel like buying a new PS2 and a Maxdrive just to migrate Firepro Wrestling Returns saves onto my PS3.

I'd also like to be able to do this. My friend no longer has his PS2 but has a PS3 and MVP and would like to use downloaded rosters. I figure there has to be a way to download the roster, copy it to the PS3 like I did with NCAA on PS3 and then somehow transfer it to the virtual PS2 memory card.
