Costco Removed PS3, possible Preorder?

They also had a listing for Wii hardware on their site when you searched for "Wii" and that appears to have been removed as well.
 
While were talking about Costco has anyone heard if they'll be selling either of the consoles on day one? I wouldnt mind waiting it out for a bundle at costco. If anything just for the Wii. I just pray to god they are smart and make it a Zelda bundle.
 
checking merchandizing memos, asking the warehouse manager seems like it will be release 11/17/06.. good luck to you all on getting one... 24 units per palet.. probably 2 pallets per warehouse...

Still, I imagine the bundles being quite expensive. Even so, their return policy basicly means I got my ass covered if the PS3 decides to crap itself.

You guys imagine this would require camping? I really rather not, as I have 2 damn pappers and an exam this week.
 
My Costco had 360's at launch.. it was all gone by noon.

I am a gold card member so we can get in one hour early. I too, wonder if camping is necessary..
 
My costco (Lake in the Hills, IL) was awesome with the 360 launch. Very up front with quanity and info the week before, monitored the line and had a sign in sheet, brought out donuts and coffee and opened early. (kudos to them)

I just talked to them about the PS-3, and talked to a guy who said he was part of last years deal. Here is what he had to say:

No Costco warehouse's are getting PS-3's. The US order was cut to 250,000, from 400k and costco used all there stock (what little they got) for on-line pre-orders (which has been taken down) did anyone get in on that

He closed by saying "we are getting the Wii though." meh.

Again, this is one guy, in electronics at Costco (but he was right on the money last year?)

I was planning on heading to Costco on Sunday. I totally forgot that the Wii was coming out that day. I wonder if my Costco will have any.

Well that sucks. I bought my 360 at Costco last year, and was hoping to do the same with the PS3. :(
 
I find it kind fo hard to belive that the launch numbers have been cut that much. Doesn't EB/GS get half of the 400,000. A cut of 150,000 seems aufully high.

Though I starting to belive that costco will have it online only though. Have talked to my local place yet, though I'll probably drop by tomorrow or thursday.

I also don't think that costco took the PS3 page down becuase the pre order sold out. There's no word about this at all. There should atleast be some mentioning at the preorder monitoring sites.

Thinking about it, it's much cheaper to get it in Japan later next year when my sister is dropping by, though the I really like costco return policy in case it craps on me. oh, what to do! Maybe I should just get a 8800 GTX - -

That's interesting. I haven't read of anyone being able to buy them off their online site either.
 
I love the console launches . . . I'd love to get ahold of a PS3 for resale.

I'll get one for myself most likely in about 2 years. When the price has dropped and cheap software is getting more plentiful.
 
YEah I got the same response Toroe did. I went yesterday and was told that they will not be receiving any in store; that they will only be sold online.

I was just about to ask about Sam's Club - anyone bought a system there on launch? My membership is expired but I figure I'd sneak in with my old card, see if I can get one and if so I'd sign up again..
 
Sams club last year had 40 units per store, if you get there before the overnight employees go outside and wait in line you should have a chance, the first half the line last year was employees. I called mine again this year they claimed only business members would get thru the door at 7am on friday. Last year employees and any joe smoe was allowed to walk in business or not. Also be advised to have a membership card or you will be waiting in line for nothing, I saw 3 people turned away who wanted to become members but were told no way.

If your Costco is anything like mine, they let everyone in the doors when they open (regardless of membership type). I've also seen Costco employees on this board saying that they let all member types in when they open.

This is one of the reasons I haven't upgraded my membership.
 
i just called my local costco and was told that they are not getting any ps3's on launch day at all. i called 2 other local stores and was told the same thing, i was also told that they will probably get their shipment on the 2nd wave which they said is about 1 month after the initial release

Was told by the manager of sams club that they getting only 3 units and would not be doing any type of online pre-order.
 
My friend called up sams and Costco.

Costco said that it's online only, while sams will get like 4.

Oh well, online is good too I guess, but waiting at home than outside. Though it'd be nice to know what time they'll start.
 
There goes my hope to score one in Friday morning at Costco (thought that there would be less people lining up in advance since it's a membership warehouse) :cry:

This PS3 launch has been a joke so far. 80k units in Japan and only 200k for the US?!?
The Xbox 360 launch was kinda messed up. The PS3 one is way FUBAR!

So basically this dipshit is saying that Costco got over 1/2 of all PS3s that the US is getting! LOL :)
