School started again last Monday.
 
Actually it says you can't use the rock band guitar with GH3, but it's yet to be confirmed that the GH3 guitar will work on Rock Band.
Oh, and the GH2 explorer will work with Rock Band.

I find it odd that Rockband has changed their stance -- originally, they maintained that the GH style controllers would be a-ok to play with the game, only they would be better qualified as bass guitars, due to their lack of solo buttons. (or the solo buttons would just overlay the reguarly fret buttons).

However, considering my anti-dongle requirement on the PS3, I don't know that I'll be rushing out to get either franchise immediately, though Rockband is still my frontrunner due to drums and DLC over the slightly more pleasing initial tracklist of GH3.

I figured that Red Octane would be the ones to fudge up that possibly great situation. I guess the PS2 GH's not working with the GH3 controller was a sign of that.

That alone makes me want to tell GH3 to go fuck itself and go exclusively with rockband.
 
Thanks Johnny, I seriously read that 3 times to make sure I got it right and I still fucked it up. :lol:

I really just want my Rock Band controller to work with GH2 on 360. There is seriously no excuse for that not to work.

Not sure if the RB controller will work with GH2, but it would make sense.
At least the X-Plorer works with Rock Band.

If Red Octane and Harmonix could've come to an agreement, I'd have glad bought both bundles and had two controllers for GH and a full set for RB along with having all the GH goodness from the PS2, but that's not going to be the case now. Though I don't think I've heard if the RB controller supports the PS2 GH games yet, which I'm interested in hearing after reading this in the 1up article:

There is one positive to the situation. If you already own the Xbox 360 Explorer bundled with Guitar Hero 2, that will work in both games -- we've personally tried it. Given that Rock Band developer Harmonix worked hand-in-hand with Red Octane on developing the Explorer, it's hardly surprising.

Since Harmonix had a hand in the GH PS2 games, I'm hoping they support those games. I'd easily go to Rock Band just for that.
