So the other poster seems to have taken out the information in his thread so I figured I'd start a new one...

Trade in 4 GBA games and pre-order Nintendogs for free at EBGames B&M. This deal has been confirmed by several of us here including me.

Here's the list of pre-owned excluded (POX) games thanks to vietgurl!

GBA POX
Bum (Butt Ugly Martians?)
Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2
Dragonball Z: Collectible Card Game
Ecks vs. Sever
Fortress
Fire Pro Wrestling
Iridion
Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX
Ready 2 Rumble 2
WWF: Road to Wrestlemania

The trade in any 3 preowned games seems to be a huge YMMV because not many people have gotten it to work. There's a supposed Streetwise coupon that allows you to trade in any 3 games, no exceptions, to get the preorder but none of us has seen it yet. I'll keep this post updated with any incoming information from you guys.

The promotion code is #3901 if that helps anybody.

Edit: Just did the trade 4 deal... Promo #3929

I traded Dragonball GT Video, Cartoon Network Video, Xevious, and Rayman Advance and was able to preorder the Daschund version with no problems. They didn't take Iridion 3D though as was expected.

Edit 2: The coupon has finally appeared!

Thanks to darkcrawlspace

The coupon is good until September 5, but I don't think anybody here has tried using it yet. Go get 'em!

Edit 3: Link fixed. Also thanks to ahmedmalik and SanjuroTsubaki for their help.

Does anyone know the Promotion Code?

Sometimes I get a stubborn employee that conveniently can't find any of the deals I ask about, (and then tries to add on an 'extended warranty' to the game without telling me).

The odd thing is that you could only get the 3 GBA for Ndogs if you had a sharp employee (who caught the deal in an email). Ironically, now the only way to get it for 3 is if you have a slow employee who is just finding out about the 3 for deal. Sharp employees will likely only give you the 4 for Ndogs because its automatic in the system and they don't have to override.

There is time to do the 4 for deal . . . so maybe the mysterious "coupon" to get the 3 for deal will arrive.

Alright. I'm going to try to do this for my cousin. It should be a breeze because this one is legit, but I'll try to see if I can get the girl to do 3 games. I'm going to tell her that the coupon doesn't exist.

Thanks for consolidating op. The other thread was out of control.

So those 11 games are the only games that EB wont take for this deal? Glad I got Iridion pulled from my cart yesterday after all.
I'm going to tell her that the coupon doesn't exist.
The computer is going to tell her it does exist, and chances are she's going to believe the computer over a random customer. :D

I think that I'll just wait until the coupon makes its way on the 'net...or I'll wait until there is a price drop and play with my real dog. This game just doesn't seem strong enough to warrant a purchase, especially considering I've got the real thing.
The computer is going to tell her it does exist, and chances are she's going to believe the computer over a random customer. :D
Pfft, I already asked her if she's seen anyone with it. "No."

I'll just tell her what I read in the other Nintendogs topic. I'll use my smooth talking skills.

I have a funny feeling that the POX list is gonna get a lot longer soon; EB probably didn't care enough to make many games POX because they didn't have very many promotions with GBA trade-ins. That list was as of yesterday :)

I'm surprised the POX is so short... hardly any sports game are excludedwhich is odd. Glad I was able to preorder 1-copy before they upped to deal to trade-in 4.

I wonder if EB will allow POX games with the Streetwise coupon.

Thanks for the list OP and Vietgurl

People, check out yard sales, its that time of year and if you get someone selling games for a few bucks each you can really make out
WTF now it's 4? I need a 4th gba game...
yes

Heres you options.

4 GBA games. --LEGIT WAY--
3 GBA games and thi smysterious coupon
3 GBA with a really slow associate (who hasnt read their emails)
or
3 GBA games with a friend or an assoicate that just doesn care and marks the gba games to $10 each.

Surprising to me that Namco Museum, Pac-Man Collection, Konami Arcade Advanced, and the crappier NES Classics aren't POX. A lot of those have been available cheaply for a while.

Of course, GBA games get very few official price drops. That's probably another reason why EB doesn't update the GBA POX list much.

Check out what ebgames.com wants for used Namco Museum or Pac-Man Collection. I couldn't believe it, but I guess they're popular. Or maybe people trade them in and regret it.
So does anyone know how much a used PS2 with the $30 extra would be total?
$105 + whatever you get for the games you trade in

Didn't have any games I wanted to get rid of and didn't have the drive to buy and resell, so jumped on the Overstock deal for $20 after $10 coupon. But I wholeheartedly support everyone in their efforts. :)

I'm not givin up my Namco Museum, Ms Pac Man & Galaga OWN

Even though I'm not that good at them. :D

I've only got one GBA game to get rid of - Classic Castlevania - and maybe Sword of Mana. Not sure if finding 2-3 more would be worth it (what if they added them to the POX list before I got them?).

So I'm in EB today doing the trade-in deal for Zelda, and I casually ask one of the guys behind the counter (who I know pretty well since I'm a good customer) what the Nintendogs deal is. And to my surprise, he quotes me the 3-for-1 deal with "no exclusions." I was expecting him to say 4-for-1. I tell him to hold on while I get some GBA games from my car.

So I come back and the manager (who I also know fairly well) is now behind the counter, and I told him I want to do the Nintendogs deal the other guy told me about. So I give him Fire Pro 1, Iridion 3d, and MX2002 (worst GBA game I've ever played, BTW).

Anyway, he can't find the deal in the system and says he has to look it up. I'm thinking, "oh no, the gigs up." He's gonna look it up and find it's now 4-for-1, not 3-for-1. But he looks it up, finds promotion 3901 and puts it through manually. The only hiccup was that he wouldn't take Iridion (POX) so I gave him a Game & Watch that I bought used a while back for $5. I could've said the other guy said no exclusions, but to be honest, I felt lucky enough to be doing 3-for-1 instead of 4-for-1 that I didn't care.

In all, I got Nintendogs for games I only paid $13 total for back in the day. I'm sure others have done better, but I'm happy since I probably would've bought Nintendogs anyway at full price if not for this deal.

So the 3-for-1 is not totally dead yet. You can still get lucky.

Can somebody recommend me some cheapass GBA games to buy and resell?

I got nothing at home. Zilch.

Today I traded in 4 games I wanted to get rid of anyway for Chihuahua version, so I assume the coupon will be discovered tomorrow ;)

Butt Ugly Martians
Fortress
Fire Pro Wrestling
Iridion

Those are four out of the Five Games I bought for this!
Ugh >_>
Now I'm stuck with BUM...*sigh*...
Wellp...whatever >_>

What is this trade-in deal for Zelda of which you speak?

I don't want to give up mine, or Pac Man Collection, really. It's not like I play them endlessly, but they're nice to have around on a portable. I only looked because I wondered if it was feasible to trade them in and replace them.

Nope.

I think it's trade in 5 X-Box, PS2 and or Gamecube Games and get Twilight Princess for Free!

Bah, the deals no real bargain any more, but if you wanted the game in the first place, some flipping will still get you a good discount. ($5 games that aren't POX: Ice Climbers, Robopon 2, An Arcade Collection of sorts. There are numerous $6 ones.)

Hope that helps.

Ah! Well Thanks then...I guess I'll just keep these games >_>
Still...an atrocity like Butt Ugly Martians...*sigh*...It's...I wanna just throw it away ' '

I'm going to try to reserve a copy tomorrow afternoon, maybe 2 then switch one reserve to Castlevania or some other game. Has anyone had any luck with those $1.99 games from CC a few months back? X2, Banjo Kazooie, Winter Sports 2002, etc.

Got the 3-1 to work at one my EBs...reserved all 3 copys...ugh. My girl will NOT stop playing this when it comes out...I know it. I will go days without sex now because she had to play this game (Similar things happened when Zoo Keeper came out)

why did i have a feeling i would hear a story like this....poor bastard

So i went to EB with 3 old GBA games and asked him about the offer and he said he was aware of it and so he went ahead and started the process, except then he said the computer came up with the 3 & coupon or 4 GBA offer. I told him the coupon didn't exist so he said oh really and went ahead to override it....successfully. The best thing was, the games i traded which were:

1. Men In Black II
2. Broken Sword Templars
3. Wrestlemania X8

....only scanned up to a value of $2.50 but he overrid them to equal $30, which is what the promotion is supposed to do. So that was even better. I pre-ordered the Dachshund version so problem.

Just put the nitendogs cart to your crotch and make her get it off with her mouth. Then your both happy.

Does EB usually make you pay tax for this? I thought I read earlier that some people (but not all) had to pay tax when trading in. Is there a way around it?
Does EB usually make you pay tax for this? I thought I read earlier that some people (but not all) had to pay tax when trading in. Is there a way around it?
Depends on your state laws . . . that's about it. Sounds like California law makes you pay the tax.

In Wisconsin you don't pay tax on a trades . . . period. So credit on your Edge card will give you tax-free purchases. What's cool for me is that if you return a game you got in a trade-in deal (like I returned GT4) will actually give you the tax back . . . even though you never paid it . . . if you put the credit on a gift card (which can be used online). Man this stuff gets complicated.

NO Box or Instructions needed!

Getting in on the 3 for deal now is incredibly lucky . . . amazed a clerk would override the system when the other deal is there. Good for you!

My local B&M store clerks didn't know anything about the trade-in deal and couldn't find it in the computer. Unless I can come up with a coupon for this, I might be out of luck.

I forgot to elaborate on my EB experience. When I called to see if they had the deal, the clerk told me it was either 3 or 4 games, he apparently was too lazy to look it up. When I got to EB later, I asked if it was 3 or 4 (different guy,) he says "I'm not sure, I'd have to try it." Apparently no one knows how to look up a promotion in this store. So he puts in 3 games and doesnt work, then he says "Oh, it must be 5 games, it didn't work with 3, but then I added two more and it worked."

....

I then point out the obvious, that, hey, maybe only 4 works too. Apparently this hadn't occurred to the lad. So long story short I might've been able to trade in only 3, but this guy never would've been able to find the promotion...

Yeah =\ I'm one of those guys who has only bought good GBA games and has them all complete - so I didn't really have any to trade back in and hadn't picked up anything from the CC sale >_>

With this deal, you go into EB and find some $3.99 and or $4.99 games that are PO and buy 4 of them . . . - 10% . . . $18 or less (more like $14 with 3 for deal). If you can do this with EB credit (like me) your out-of-pocket cash may be more like $9 for a $30 game.

No one should trade in good games that they may want (never do this) . . . only trade in stuff that you got for cheap with the purpose of making credit at EB.

I mostly used games that I had on hand or cheapies that I knew I could replace later (like at the same store the next day).
