My external hardrive has something loose inside, but because the way the case is designed I'm not sure how to open it without risk of breaking the shell. Has anyone had experience with these types of harddrives? I searched around, but the closest place that MAY have had my answer demanded I pay for it.

You can take an old stiff credit card or something credit like but most likely it's a snap type that will break because it's made to only go together not come apart. I'd say on that hd it's most likely the side covers come off and they snap together. Just be patient and don't force anything.

i agree with wipeout...use something sturdy and wedge it in being very careful not to force anything. if you don't have an old credit card, try an expendable butter knife.

if it still works, you can always consider getting another one and transfering everything off of it first to make sure u don't screw yourself :p
