Craigslist ps3 trade

A guy in my area wants to trade his 120 GB ps3 slim which he bought locally (he has the receipt) for a b/c ps3

I have a 60 GB model purchased in the late summer of 2007 for $350 that I would be willing to trade.

I haven't used the ps2 b/c in a while, and if that strikes my fancy I'll go out and get a used ps2 for cheap.

Do I need to let Sony know? I can back up all my save files on an external drive and reload them correct? For my ps2 saves can I do that as well, or do I need to get a memory card reader for ps2?

What's the warranty on the new 120 GB slims?

I've seen plenty of used bc 60 GB PS3s bring 350.00 (probably not here on CAG though) used. Thats a NEW PS3 Slim AND a good used PS2 with no worries about warranty transfer or dealing with someone on Craigs List. Its up to you though. You know what you need.

what do you need to let sony know? you purchased the ps3 legit so don't trip. as for the trade, do it if you don't use the b/c because it is not helpful unless you have a library stack of ps1/ps2 games and i've seen 60gb ps3 go for about $215 shipped on forums so you're getting a deal. perhaps the person will throw in some extras if you talk to them right. good luck
