Have any of you guys found it increasingly difficult to sell games on Craigslist? Maybe it's just my city, but it seems like the market has dried up (even if you sell something for significantly less than what it's worth). A couple years ago, it was easy to sell games. Now, there don't seem to be offers for decent games and there's just tons of Cabelas, CoD, and horrible kids games being sold (well, at least that's what listed).
 
I've never sold games on Craigslist but the games that are being listed now a days are just awful. Lot's of COD games and everything overpriced. Last year i was only able to find two good deals on games and that was it.
 
I would imagine the typical Craigslist seller is a mom who took her kids junk games to Gamestop to trade them in, was told they were junk games, balked at their low trade in values, and is now trying to sell them herself for substantially more than they are worth. Sorry lady, just because you paid $60 for it last year doesn't mean it's worth $45 today.
 
I think it just depends on your area. My area has always been complete garbage when it comes to games on Craigslist. I usually have to find places that are like 30 miles away for a somewhat decent deal, and at which point it's not really worth it spending all that time and money on gas to get to the seller.
 
Speaking as a buyer, I've noticed the quality of what's on CL is pretty bad these days. You only ever see shovelware titles like sports games, Barbie for the DS, and those Imagine games on the Wii. Occasionally something good will pop up, but it's overpriced for where it's listed. Honestly people, if I wanted to pay market price, I'd buy from a local used game store or an online store like Lukie. Additionally, I see people post things that are just plain overpriced. Used copy of SFxT for $40? Tempting.. but I just bought my copy at Gamestop for $18, so I'll pass.

Haha, I occasionally see some ridiculous prices on some horrible DS games, so that could be. Most people I've sold games to on Craigslist in the past have been 20-40 year-old males, but I think one mom sold me her son's PS2.

That's an absurdly high price. I see some sellers doing that, too. It makes sense to at least check what items of similar condition are going for on eBay and Amazon before posting.

Yeah, that's pretty far to go unless it's an amazing deal. Besides gas, it sucks if you travel to another city and are given a broken game(s).

Sounds like yours is similar to mine. Dead Space 2 for $7 isn't bad, though. I can't remember if I found anything good this year.
 
I usually sell an item both on CL and eBay at the same time. Even with the eBay listing being a little bit higher to offset the fees, 100% of the time the eBay one sells first. All I get from CL are scammers or crazy buffoon lowballers.

That's why I've pretty much stopped using CL.

I usually would price the stuff a little higher than Amazon's trade-in prices. That way I get a little bit more money and don't have to mail the stuff in. But all I would get was people expecting you to sell them $20 DVD or game for $.50. I would usually tell them to email back when they can do a serious offer, but it got to a point where I didn't even respond to them if they had offers like that.
 
I do alright selling on Craigslist, but part of it is figuring out the demand in your area and what listings tend to not stick around. I tend to do best with NES console bundles--then once I get a serious buyer I'll let them have a look at my "cheap but good" $3-5 games. Usually locals don't want to pay more than this so you have to adjust your selling tactics accordingly.
