Crysis 2 anyone?

Finished it last night. What a blast. I can't believe how little attention this thread (game?) is getting. This is the game Halo could have been when it took place on Earth and/or Reach. Densely populated, massive skyscrapers, streets littered with cars, trash bins, mailboxes, etc., you know, a living-breathing world that actually looks and feels like someone lives/lived there, unlike the ghost towns Halo gave us.

Another unique thing about this game, for me anyway, it's the first game in a long time that has me thinking about and jonsing about the next time I get to play, and I haven't touched the MP yet.

I need to jump back on the story, been spending the past few days on MP. Just got kicked out of the noob games since I reached level 11. Maybe its time to go back to Campaign for now.

Corvin, BTW when you played through the campaign did you have to sneak around a lot? I'm playing in the hardest difficulty and it plays a lot like Splinter Cell for me or at least I'm playing it that way, there's really no option for me to run and gun.

That's what I've read. You can basically run through Super Soldier in a few hours(after upgrading your suit on a previous playthrough) just by sneaking by everyone. Literally avoiding 90% of the enemies.

I dropped it to normal because I prefer to run and gun, but since I finished, I'm going to give SuperSoldier a run and try that method out.

Guess I'll see if I can finish it on this setting and go back and try an easier difficulty to run and gun and get a different experience...hopefully.

I am shocked this thread isn't more happening. This is so far the best game I have played this year. So many options... do I shoot them, grenade them, toss a trash can, sneak up/knife, chokehold/slam them, or just flat out sneak around them... thats so great. Personally I have been playing it like Splinter Cell just sneaking up on them and knifing them. I have thought about doing the run and gun with slide shooting (currently on Normal) but I like sneaking up on people alot more. I am only a couple levels in but I really enjoy it.

The only negative I have on it is the AI can be real dumb at times. Just walking into walls. But I wouldn't let that deter you from playing this.

Just wrapped up a normal playthrough. Great game. I realized that the reason I like this game so much is because it includes a lot of the pieces that I feel other FPSes leave out like larger open battlefields, strategizing before the assault (though still able to wing-it if plans go wrong), workable stealth, powers that actually enhance the playability, a mature sci-fi setting and story, actual replayability and a good length. Of all the FPSes I have played lately, it is this line of design that I hope studios start pursuing.

im playing SP right now and im reallly liking it. the game looks amazing in my opinion and i love how it feels. i really like how slick the upgrading is. i'll eventually try MP after.

Good tips on making the game more enjoyable. I'm in the middle of the campaign now and I'm really finding the alien sections more compelling than the opening CELL sections. The silenced pistol is essential for human sections, though, as it's the only weapon that you can fire without depleting your energy. Great semi-open-world sci-fi shooter that ignores a lot of the annoying features that have become standard in other shooters.

Just so u guys know most people have the Supersoldier difficulty achievement is glitched for some people - I being one of them. Beat the game on a "New Game" not even Chapter Select from start to finish on Super Soldier and no achievement popped! I died a crap load in the process because I didn't stealth my way the entire game, just certain areas that had way too many enemies. Blah :(

Otherwise I really enjoyed the single player along with the beautiful graphics. This defenitely gives Halo a run for It's money imho single player wise. MP wise it's still lacking variety and has too many hit detection and lag issues.

I went through and did all the speed traps and didn't get the achievement. I quit out after getting each one though. I guess I have to keep playing til I hit a checkpoint. :( Got the "Band of Brothers" achievement without even trying (I was on easy looking for collectibles). Also nabbed the "Stealth Assassin" one without any fuss.

I also started Super Soldier last night. Ran through the first 6 levels in about an hour. I don't think I shot a single person in the first 4 levels. There was the tank run on Road Rage, but other than that, I just ran past everyone.

Playing through on an easier difficulty to max out your suit first seems to be the way to go in that regard. It makes Super Soldier a breeze.

Is there a way to bring up the NanoSuit upgrade page or can you only do it when it prompts you to? I cant seem to find the upgrade page and I havent been able to use my upgrade points since the first Ceph? encounter.

hit the back button

It seems when I hit the back button it only brings the option to change the settings on my guns. I know i am missing something really simple but I cant seem to figure it out.

Am I missing something about the MP? Most of the deaths don't seem to be because of skill, it's usually catching someone with their pants down (low energy, or they walk by you in stealth), or cleaning up after a teammates mess. Either way, there just isn't that much satisfaction in winning while the dying just pisses you off because you feel shortchanged.

Lag is one of the many reasons I die a lot in mp. When I am not lagging I bunch of kills, and it's very seldom I have a full bars.

just beat the game. really fun to play and i was sort of understanding the story until the end. i have no idea what it all means now.
