Crysis 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info

I think that games where the main character has a special suit, should be in 3rd person (i.e. Vanquish, Dead Space). I just feel like they're better that way. If the weapon(s) is the main attraction then first person is okay, but if it an entire suit, I just think its better in 3rd person cause you can show off more of the suit. From the comments I read, I think that if this game would have been in 3rd person its problems would have been solved.

well i am very pleasantly surprised. the demo is nothing like the game, the graphics really are outstanding, the shooting is fine, the gameplay is great, the nanosuit is very fun. over all i like it very much and ive only played three matches. its really deserving of its high scores. so im glad i got it. i highly recommend it.

I think it is pretty clear the PS3 version got the shaft early on in development, it was never shown in press events, then PS3 got a late demo that turned out to be a disaster so bad EA had to "take it down". Then we have the final version looking like a blurry mess aka low res mess, I am pretty sure millions stopped caring about this game once the demo fiasco happened, EA might as well make Crysis 3 a 360/PC exclusive because it will sell horrible on PS3.

Not sure where all the blurriness is because I think the game looks great. Stuff like the rocks and pebbles under the water look great as well. To each his own, but I think it looks sweet.

We should find out in a couple weeks when the NPD numbers are out, but I speak for myself when I say that I only casually enjoy FPS games and there are much better options for the PS3

In yours reasons you neglect to mention that the original Xbox 360 demo was also pulled for the same reasons that the PSN version was pulled. Just that the PSN version came out close enough to the time of retail release they didn't bother to put out a corrected demo.

Not sure where this is coming from either except for someone trying to start a flame war. I experienced no blurriness at all then playing on the PS3. In single or multiplayer. Even Lens of Truth's results came in that the graphics were nearly identical.

I was wondering the same. Not saying this is the case, but now days people like to post FLAME topics from something they HEARD.

I was under the impression that even though the demo looked horrible, the release version was actually graphically better on the PS3 than Xbox. So I dont know what youre talking about, and it seems like you dont either.

Not sure myself and have read plenty of great reviews. However my backlog of games andd Portal 2 have this on my back burner until it is (at least) below $30.

I hope that Crysis 2 does well on PS3, I'd love to have more PC developers bring their games to consoles. I've been reading up on the game and I haven't heard of any such problems mentioned by the OP, plus I've looked at a couple of reviews and I don't recall any such issues. I was looking for the crysis 2 demo...I was wondering where it went.

uh, wasn't the demo taken down because of network issues?

This thread is pretty stupid and comes off as flamebait/trolling to me

From past experiences, don't PS3 games sell less then 360 games? Especially shooters? So maybe it'll be a flop as far as sales go compared to the 360 or PC(lol) sales? But more likely it'll sell okay because, let's face it, what other big name shooter is gonna be purchased over it? The internet seems to hate Homefront and CoD Blackops is supposedly going stale. Anyway, since this troll isn't very good, I'll go ahead and through something out there;

Teh Xbox 360 are bettar then teh PS3 cause teh PS3 is ghay!

NDP stopped giving out numbers for specific system, and they asked people stop giving out numbers
From what I understand the 360 and PS3 versions are comparable. Shooters just sell more on the 360 though.
Yeah, this. They're roughly equal in terms of technical quality, and they're probably sell within +/- 20% of each other. Point is: topic is dumb.

Can someone answer a question for me? I got the LE version, and it came with the platinum dog tag, but there is another one I keep seeing that I dont have, theres like 3 dog tag borders. And so far I'm only allowed to select from 2.

what?, I am not trolling anything I got the game but I am just saying the truth about how it isn't going to do well on PS3 at all. Like dude above their are better options and like I stated the demo fiasco and low quality didn't make a good impression to many.

I personally got it because BlackOps got boring, so I traded in towards Crysis and didn't pay full price for it, like 15 bucks. I am speaking on the shooter masses out there in PS3 gaming, I can't see the game selling well to them and on 360 the game is guaranteed to do best of course.

You can't be serious, THE PS3 VERSION does not look even close to the 360
version, I got it on PS3 and my brother on 360 and I am telling you

the 360 upscaler hardware helps the 360 version tons, the PS3 version

boots up at 1080p upscaled and it looks blurry, this is a known fact.

you can help that by switching the PS3 to 720P or 1080i.

I bet you none of you saying it looks fine ever seen the 360 version

by just walking to another room with the same exact TV, you literally

see the difference instantly, btw another big point visuals on PS3 online

like a PS2 HD version, while the 360 version looks like the PS3 single

player version ONLINE and offline it looks way better then that.

I guess if you buy the game to walk around and look at bathroom walls and crap like that, then yeah, it sucks. I bought the game to actually play it though. I dont stand around looking at walls lol

SEE?

while the games have all the details exactly the same, the PS3 version has them all in

in a LOW RES type quality, so yeah the games play the same and all that but visuals

are clearly not even that great on PS3 which is weird since we seen games look way

better on PS3 even those old COD games look more sharper then this.

I mean you do realize this IP "Crysis" didn't get hype because of gameplay

right?, if anything the gameplay is the backdrop to what they created,

Do you have your Crysis 2 gamebox around?, look at what it says in

the top right corner "The best looking game on console", key word there

"console" meaning only in one of them the 360 version which as you can

see NO GAME on Xbox 360 looks better then this game while on PS3

Killzone 2/Killzone 3 even ONLINE look better then Crysis 2 Campaign.

yea, I'm playing the game. killin dudes. dont give a shit about what the xbox looks like. cuz theres nothing anyone can do about it :)

What they could fix are these fucking random drop-out, this is bullshit man. 25-4 and my game just quits. FUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!

I seen that yea both versions have their issues but I am talking about

1 specific issue here, THE LOW RES quality of the PS3 version the whole

BLURRY LOOK as you can see it is clear, the 360 version not only has

a higher resolution but also realize it is made even better by the

hardware upscaler 360 has inside. The PS3 version seems to have this

"Stretched" look also look at the Buttons Icons in the picture above

Crytek without a doubt tried to bring the exact same game on PS3

all details are the same but they couldn't get it done without lowering

the resolution on the PS3 version, so people have to deal with the Blurry

look.

Yeah that's another issue......

I honestly am really digging the game. I don't really care if it looks different or not. I am playing it because it is a pretty good game. I still remember back in the day playing games because they were fun, not how good it looked.

the demo was/looked terrible. the actual game release is very good, though the gameplay is very hard and takes a lot of quick strategy. you really have to alternate wisely with the nanosuit or someonell get the drop on you. same gameplay with the gun mechanics as COD basically, but the nanosuit creates a whole other element. its not for a casual gamer that plays FPS here and there, its for someone really lookin for a unique FPS experience. i hated the demo but i bought the game anyway and i think its fantastic, and the graphics are as good as killzone 3 btw imo.

OP, "flop" I'd agree with you if you had the right game...bulletstorm. Look at the most recent "shooters" released this qrt. KZ3, Homefront, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2 & Dead Space 2.

Bulletstorm- 890,000 total sales(including PC) $680,000 X360 vs 160,000 PS3
Crysis 2- 1.01 total sales(including PC)$540,000 X360 vs 340,000 PS3
Killzone 3- 1.27 mil(released same day as Bulletstorm)
Homefront-1.43 mil total sales(including PC) 940,000 X360 vs 410,000 PS3
Dead Space 2 1.82 mil total sales(including PC) 930,000 X360 vs 770,000 PS3

Bulletstorm is the clear "loser" of the bunch they shouldn't have released head to head with KZ3 that cannibalized their sales on PS3.

Hell look at the sales for Mass Effect 2 on PS3 350,000? They'll have to drop the price $20-$30 near the release date of ME3 to push total sales near 1 mil.

You guys got it all wrong. These games have bad graphics, yet they kept many of us entertained for hours. Face it, we are just spoiled ass adults :bouncy:

I wish sony would have put 512 mb off ram in the PS3 like the 360. Graphics on multi-console release would be on par or better then the 360. Most developers hate the 256 mb of ram. The size of the ram came at the sacrifice of of having a higher speed, thus improving graphics in theory. Multi-console Developers are just so freaking lazy when it comes to the ps3. The PS3 makes some smoking graphics when fully optimized. Hell killzone 3&2, GOW3, and MGS4 are easily the best looking games on any console.

Don't forget Uncharted 2 :D

from what i was told im pretty sure the ps3s hardware is capable of producing "better" graphics than xbox, and the ps3 exclusives definitely make me beleive that. all of the shooters that came out recently have excellent graphics, with the exception of homefront's mediocre ones. still i keep in mind all the details going on with homefront (maps,32 players, drones, vehicles, etc...) so there had to be some comrpomsie, like bfbc2 with its frostbite destructible environments.

anyway, crysis 2 is a hardcore FPS. the graphics are excellent but that aside the gameplay is what matters and it is tough. u really have to get used to that nanosuit or your a sitting duck. the game is awesome, but again not for casual FPS/gamers.

ive played halo a few times but im not familiar with it at all really. i mean i just played a few rounds on a friends xbox and didnt get into it, so i really dont know anything about the game at all.

i keep hearing crysis 2 is call of duty+halo...in what ways? ive heard stealth is available in halo, and i dont know how it is used. is it the same cloaking as crysis 2 or is it like killzone 3?

anyway if anyone knows anything about halo please tell me how they are similar, if they really are.

Game looks great, game plays even more amazing don't knock it until you've played it or rented it. And stop putting Xbox games on pedestal that every other game has to look like, its stupid. They both look the same, and those screen caps earier aren't even close to comparing the two. It's like one person took a screen shot and the other one was taking a picture of a tv with a 2mp camera, its not accurate and its a false comparison.

They're nothing in common, watch some game play footage to save your soul. The perk system is different too. Nothing about this is halo at all, or Call of Duty.

Just play the fucking game for christ sakes, theres a million websites with reviews and tutorials and previews and and and and and and.............................. Why do you care what other people think anyways?

These gamfaq threads need to stop, there's been an abundance of them lately.

ill post as i see fit, thats my concern. and this is from ingame play with other players who talk dujring matches comparing the two.

thanks for your answer too
