Congrats to Crystalklear64 for winning the first ever loser's bracket!

Would people that lost in the 1st Ever CAG Brawl Tournament be interested in having a loser's bracket? Same rules, just having fun while we are already knocked out.

Sean, I posted once around page 11 (of the tournament page) if people were interested, it got buried. Someone mentioned it without having read that previous post. I put it out as a new topic to see if there was interest. If there is then I could set it up, if there wasn't then it'd die.

You don't have to click on the topic if you don't want to read it.

Haha, I think by that point I'd settle with, "I need to practice more before I play in another tournament." Though I do like the parameters of tournament style play.

Don't get so defensive ;) Usually you don't have more than 1 topic per-game. I was just saying having 5 is a little ridiculous. If your post gets burried, repost it! :bouncy:
 
It's funny, I was just coming back here thinking, "boy I really got defensive about that, I should relax a little" My apologies sean, but I felt that it would just get constantly buried and reposting the same question each page seemed a bit over the top. I mean as of right now we have myself and one other person....not enough for a tournament, or else the world's smallest loser's bracket ever.
 
There are 7 of us if you want to do it. I'll set it up and whatnot. I mean 6 people isn't a lot, but it is enough to have some sort of mini-loser's tournament. I have classes until 1, after that I'll put together a bracket for us.
 
We should probably give a week before we do this. A week of training before we fight. Rocky style training. I guess I'm in.
 
Bah I say lets have a mini tourney now just for the hell of it!

It's 1:45 - we have 9 people. Is that fine for everyone? EG wants to get the show on the road which is fine with me, I'll post some brackets. We will accept 1 later comer to fill in whoever gets the bye.

Rules are just the same as the original tournament.
 
So we have 9, should we try and get 12 to make it even on each side? I guess that I could set it up for 9 and then have add-ins as we go. I'm sure some people that didn't get into the first tournament still want to play too, that should be allowed to fill up the remaining spots.
 
Would have been awesome to make a second bracket to go with the first tournament. Then move people down respectively, and have the last guy to lose face the winner of this one. :)
 
Yeah dyeknom that would've been cool, but that's a lot to ask Mr. Beef to handle. I'm just throwing together a little something while passing the time. I'm all for friend code brawls, but I like the excitement of tournament play. Do you want to be in this?

I can't help but feel like there is some sly comment to be made here since this is a losers bracket...too bad I am not witty.

Of course. We have to have a bracket to know who the #1 loser is. I mean, how often can you say that you're the #1 loser?
 
This whole thing is going to end in an odd number. 10-5-3?-2-1? or 12-6-3-2-1? I mean what does everyone prefer? If we just go with what we have then at least at the 5 point it can be round robin play and they will all play each other, the best 4 records go on. Then it goes back to sudden death for the last two rounds. I don't know this idea seems half baked due to lack of people

Does that sound good?
 
doesn't these brackets need to be divisible by 4?
like 64 to 32 to 16 to 8 etc.
arent you going to end up with players with nobody to challenge?
 
decrot, the problem being is that there isn't much interest in playing this. It will be a quick tournament just to have tournament style play. It'll be two rounds of people playing and then after that it will be narrowed by a lot. I'll set it up, but I can't just keep joining myself ya know?
 
I saw shoot for 16. It looks like people are still wandering in. We should have no trouble filling a 16 roster bracket.

Totally missed out on the main tournament, haven't been checking CAG for Smash Bros. stuff so much lately.

Sorry Aaron, I think we should close it down @ 16 as it is just the loser's bracket. It's amazing how many people wanted to join yesterday.

I have the 16 people in the first page, but I'm going to redo the bracket so it goes 8 from each side and looks a little fancier, we are the losers after all.

Aww, thought I got in before the 16-person cutoff.

Alright then, guess I'll have to wait until another tournament is organized.
 
Yeah, good game. I'm a little bitter about how that second game ended though. Damn lag hit right at the end, and I couldn't get back on the stage. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. :applause:
 
Yea I have no idea where that lag came from I had nothing but my wii connected to the internet for the sake of a lag free game and there was still some lag.
 
The first game was perfect. Then the second game there were little spurts of lag.

They were good games though. My heart was racing. It was really close.
 
why the hell arent you just starting a new tournament, there is no need to do a losers bracket when you can do an actual tournament. Also I mean this is really still part of the original tournament so it should be in that thread.

This has basically evolved into its own little sixteen player tourney.
