Voters are fuckign stupid. I mean, fuck, every election I'm reminded why nobody trusts direct democracy.

Here in Delaware we've had a really interesting Attorney General race. betewwn Bo Biden and Wharton. Now, Bo Biden is the Democrat and the son of Senator Biden. But here's the shit. the fellow has NO experience. He's never prosecuted a case in the state of Delaware. He worked beforehand for the FBI and did some work up in NY. But practically he has NO and I mean No experience.

Further, he comes off as sleazy. like his father comes off as slick, but worse, if you cna imagine that. Because he has that whole I'm a connected senators son complex. And he has run a really negative and sleazy campaign. Since he had basically NO platform all he ran on was Kiddie Porn. That's it. he was going to lock up sex offenders, and then he accusedWharton in his attack ads about not doing anything to lock up sex offenders. The thing is, we already have a whole system to do that, so it was really a non issue. In fact, his plan is probably going to take resources away from other departments.

So the guy creates an issue playing off fearmongering and then promotes a plan that sounds good but is both unecessary and unrealistic.

Now his Opponent, Phil Wharton, Has over twenty years experience as a prosecutior in the state. the man has servesd the community well. he's been involved in some of the biggest cases in the state. Including the Tom Capano Trial which drew national attention. He has first hand experience on how Delaware law enforcement is organized in the state and how to run its administration. He's been a part of it for over twenty years!

There is no bigger no brainer that Phil Wharton is the better candidate by FAR. My father is a hardcire democrat. When he voted today he voted all democrat. EXCEPT Bo Biden. EVEN HE voted for Phil Wharton. And we laughed about it over dinner. You'd have to be an idiot to vote for Biden. We both joked that Biden was gonna get killed.

Well, I thought that maybe it might be close. Say, 56 44 for Whartoon because of sheer ignorance, the democrat factor, and the name factor. But it wouldn't be close.

Well, guess what, half the precincts are in, and Biden's winning by ten fucking points. TEN!

It was so bad, that on the radio, one of the local commentators who's supposed to be a non-partisan commentator and is also a lawyer. And he was shocked. He was actually upset on the radio. Wondering how could people be voting this way. And he effectively called the Delaware voters ignorant without saying it.

And he's right.

So again, the voting public shows it's ignorance.

AA, I didnt know you were from DE. What part?
Oh, and Joe Biden is good friends with a friend of mine's family.
AA, I didnt know you were from DE. What part?
Newark. Graduated from UD a couple years ago.

I don't know Bo Biden personally. I know he's done soem heroic things in his life, like saving his father when he had a brain anurism. But he's run a sleazy campaign. And there's no way he's qualified for the position over Phil Wharton. None.

Edit: it's actually an interesting story if you didn't hear about it. Several years back Senator Biden was running for the presidency. But he plagarized a speech during his campaign, effectively ending his run. Shortly after he pulled out, sometime in the early fall, he had a brain anurism. And not a small one, basically, he blew a vein out the back of his head. They rushed him to the hospital. There's Senator Biden unconcious ion the back seat and bleeding out all over the place. His wife was back there, freaking out and literraly holding the Senators head together to apply pressure. Bo was in the fdront passenger seat, and they had a cop driving. There was another cop car working as escort.

Unfortunately, the escort car didn't know where the hospital was. And the police driver next to Bo was just following them. Bo picke dup that they were going the wrong way. So he ordered the driver to pull over and as the escort drove away, he got out and switched places. Then he turned the car around, got them to the hospital, and probably saved his dad's life.

Senator Biden likes to talk about it because if he had been campaigning for the presidency, he could have been god knows where instead of home, and probably would have died when it happened. So he tells the story. it's his manifest destiny story, which many people have (including myself) and confirms his belief that Giod has bigger plans for him.

I like Delaware Punch. Does that count? Hm reminds me, I havent actually seen that in a store in years. Wonder if they still make it?

UDel's a great school.

I voted, I feel liberated now. :D

But I'll venture OT in the OTT. Anyone ever get these little yellow balls with a bad smell in their throats? I have them come up from time to time, but have no idea what the hell they are. Anyone care to enlighten me?

What in the hell did they teach you in sex ed?!

I feel left out. But I get to vote in a civic election next week (I'm also volunteering for the likely winner). Go me.

Haha, I think I know what you're talking about. Haven't had them in a while. My best guess was that they were built up plaque. They smelled like really really bad breath to me.
Voters are fuckign stupid. I mean, fuck, every election I'm reminded why nobody trusts direct democracy.
I didn't know anything about the candidates here, so guess what? I didn't fucking vote.

Very good, I approve of the vOTTe related title update.

I voted! In VA which is still too close to call according to NBC. I figure Allen will manage to squeak by.
This Best Buy black friday ad has made me VERY glad I haven't bought any DVD's in the last month or so.
Wow. There's some really interesting deals there. I may finally get CoD2,. And that Westinghouse LCD HDTV is pretty interesting too.

The only thing I'm interested in are those box sets... My Name is Earl Season 1 for $19.99? What a huge savings... now I can finally watch the first season in order, since every time I've watched the fucking show on NBC it was always the same three ep's.

I've seen that damn one where they are locked in the wal-mart like store 2 or 3 times now.

One thing I don't like about House is that every season they throw in a "OMG House has met his match!" type plot. They did it the first season, they did it the second and they're doing it again for the third.

It's sweeps, I guess it's probably expected by now.

Either that or EVERY episode follows the same plot:

House finds some guy or girl with some horrible diesease, nobody knows what it is.

His team makes guesses, the person seems to be cured, OMG THEY AREN'T WHAT IS WRONG?!?!

House finds the miracle cure within the last 10 minutes of the show, everyone is happy!

And I've heard those commercials EVERY week on the radio... "House has FINALLY MET HIS MATCH IN THIS PATIENT! CAN HE FIND A CURE?!?!?"

Well, 80% of precincts are reporting and the race has tightened alot. Wharten has approximately 100,000 and Biden had 108,000. But I don't believe that Wharton can overcome that with 20% left. If they're in heavily populated areas with the numbers he neds that's in heavily democratoic districs. If it's in republican areas it's probably mor ethe rural and less populated areas. So it looks like Biden is going to win.
