A quick footnote, i bought this game for $9.86 at walmart, you can probabley find it for less, but im not picky when it comes to games costing 1/3 what d&d books cost.
The game has 9 different opening quests, depending on your alignment (good, evil, or neutral basicly) your alignment also sets what party members you can have, based on their alignments.
The game contains all the classes of D&D 3.5 Bard, Barbarian, cleric, fighter, sorcerer, palidan, druid, and wizard. Each of which has its own set of Skills, Magics, and abilities. The game makes excellent use of class-specific skills by invoking a penalty of 50% on all skill points (hereafter reffered to as sp) on any cross-class skills. However, this can easily be avoided by making a multi-class charecter, but i however do not like them.
The Charecter creation is an honorable mention, it allows you to fully customize all your charectars, and see elf-girls almost-nakers
er... right, as with d&d you can roll your charecters stats, and, if you get lucky, you end up with something like, 18, 18 14 16 12 12, which, would make a god.
However, your rerolls are shown on your charecter sheet, so that if you try to show of your "1337 stats" your friends will laugh at your reroll-attempts.
Gameplay consists of completing quests, cleaning out a dungeon or two, selling your loot for gold. and repeating. Some of the quests involve cunning, for instance, you can make someone tell you there a spy, then go to the spys employer, blackmail them, then after you collect a nice sum of oh say, 200 gold, go to the good guys, tell them, and collect another 200 gold
Quests just feel nicer when you can piss off two middle-aged Traders.
However, magic at its early levels, is underpowered and while magic missile may sound magical, it's horrible against a giant frog. At level 3 or 4, you catch up with your sword-swinging buddies, usually in the form of fireball, with the Strengthen Spell Feat.
All in all its a good game which deserves more attention now that you can find it at rock-bottom prices, even though it was released 2 years ago...
This game may be based on d&d, but its very, very, .... easy to understand,
I recommend this game at a score of 812/1000
