The fuckin spider is pissing me off. I can't beat the damn thing. And it's even more frustrating that I have to redo everything just to get back to him. This is only the third level and already I can't beat it.

I can hit him in the head? Hmm, I thought it was just his back. Most of the times I try to jump on his back I either over jump or under jump it, so yeah, I need to practice my jumps, lol. The camera angles hurt me alot cause alot of times I can't see what he's doing. I'll get it eventually. I'll try again tonight probably. I have to take or break or else I'll break something. :twisted:
 
Yeah, the camera is the biggest flaw in DMC1 IMO. Just try and time your jumps better or go in DT mode and go nuts. I never tried it in DT mode so it may be easier that way.
 
1. Cast Lvl. 3 Eroticism. the spider turns into a real beautiful woman.

2. meditate to regain your mana, before casting Lvl. 8 Cock of the Infinite.

3. Spend your mana reserves to cast Mighty F*ck of the Beyondness.

4. Steal the spider's soul and cast Lightning Lvl. 1,000,000 It's body should explode into a fine bloody mist, because its only a Lvl. 2 Druid.
 
If I remember you had to attack it's head and the tail, it switches back and forth.

Basically all the boss fights in DMC are just as aggravating and time consuming. That's the reason I don't play the game anymore. The boss fights are my major problem with all Capcom games - they stop the flow of the game. If they weren't so hard, the replay value would go up not to mention there isn't much incentive to play the games at the insanely hard modes.

I'll be lucky just to be able to beat it on Normal. Maybe I should choose Easy Autmatic Mode. :lol:

Yeah, from what I hear, DMC2 wasn't all that great. If I ever do beat DMC, I think I'll skip 2 and go straight to 3.
 
Did you happen to get by him yet? Also It's a good plan to skip two and just play three. Since DMC2 is awful compared to DMC1. At least I think so...
 
This damn spider was the single biggest reason I quit DMC. Ok well it was the only reason but still its too damn hard.
 
Yeah, I hated that spider. I spent forever trying to beat it and was psyched when I finally did but soon afterwards he came back in the next stage and I was just gave up.... though now I want to try it again.
 
ha fuckin hot i just beat him on my first try. i had to use the vital star.
that energy blast thign he does kicked my ass pretty good, i just kept shooting him from far away and when he charged i jumped on him got a couple hits in and jumped far away again.

Just be aware he follows your ass out the door and down the hall -- don't try and fight him, just duck into the nearest door.
 
umm well i have a tip i suppose

im thinking u have the shotgun right ? well each time you shoot the shotgun at the spider your demon gauge will go up

this is what i did
1 use demon gauge
2 shoot him with shotgun till its filled up again
3 use demon gauge

then repeat those steps and you win a glorious battle

I'm glad my PS2 is so well built, not like that shoddy old psx.
 
the easiest way i found was to jump above him, shoot down at him with the shotgun, then while up in the air do dante's downward slash move. After this connects simply jump again and repeat... this fills your devil trigger gauge pretty quickly so blast his ass with lightning whenever you can, then keep repeating the same strategy.

save afterwards.

When he chases you down the hall in the following area, don't be afraid to fight him. Run when he chases you down the hall, jumping over his fireballs as you go(this may take you getting killed once or twice, but the timing of how he fires the fireballs is rythmic so you don't even have to do it on reaction. Let him chase you to the end of the hall.. once there he will stop. Jump in his face and hit your devil trigger then slash away, he'll die surprisingly easily.
The benefit of this is that you get 500 red orbs for beating him. Even better is the fact that you can save and restart the mission and quickly kill him in the hall again. You can do this as much as you want before moving on. I did this for a while and ended up buying everything on the third level... definitely makes the game easier.
