Why do we continue to use our crappy old calendaring system when there's a superior one out there?

For a country that hasn't yet bothered to convert to the metric system, I think a new calendar system just to fix leap year and holidays is a long time off. Same principle much less gain from the new calendar.

The system we are on works fine, there is no need to change it.
Two things we should change through are inches and CM, get rid of the dumb inches.

I think I will just say my birthday is July 4 because they got rid of my real birthday!
What a dumbass, the system we use now is fine. I now it's hard to by calender every year or print one out on your computer.
Plus lets get rid of days and add days and hell add a week. I want that week After October, is that ok with everyone?
Plus he says that it will go with the season? How? The one we are using now is only .25 days off. We fix it every 4 years. This is a week every 7-8.
Of course the one we use now is based on religion so I'm waiting for a Christain or Republican come out and say he is trying to take religion out of the calendar.
One more thing.... He wants New Years Day on Sunday, that won't ever happen because they don't do the Rose Parade on Sundays and I want to watch my parade on New Years Day.

No, paganism doesn't really count as 'religious'. Most people don't realize there were gods before the Jesus. They group them into that nebulous apochrophitic knowledge base that existed before their own choice of worship as being void of religious context. So, the saturne, the martis, the luna, the wodens and thors, can all have their secular meanings preserved. Oh, and by the way, even the word "day" is a derivation of Deis, or 'god'. So we'd have to seriously revamp the english language to void it of deistic references.

So what about my statement troubled you? What wasn't calm? I said nothing about right wing. I never even stated if I agreed or disagreed with you. I just find it interesting how so many topics in the political forum lead to religion one way or another. It was not an attack on you. It was just an observation.
