Dance Dance Revolution featuring Mario!

Hmm. I hope he's hidden in Resident Evil 4, Star Fox: Assault, an unlockable character in Deception, and in the new Zelda.

Note to Nintendo: It's okay to release a game without Mario in it.

Eh, oh well. He needs to lose weight anyways.

One on the screenshots makes it seem like you can play a platformer with the DDR pad. Maybe it'll be sorta like Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.
Note to Nintendo: It's okay to release a game without Mario in it.
you know, that's what i thought too after seeing the screenshots. well, at least now we're getting a decent 'semi-authentic' ddr.

pasting mario all over the product does not help 'lose' the kiddie image. big n should use samus instead. (in the original unlockable costume  )

Yea IGN got their news on it too or well going to be everywhere maybe..
http://cube.ign.com/articles/577/577880p1.html

I really don't know what my reaction to this is.. like it feels like it's definately a cool thing since I like DDR and Nintendo.. but Mario.. DDR.. reminds of the NBA Vol. 3 . The idea seems cool but it's just really.. err strange. But eh one things for sure I gotta try it ^_^.

what next...

Mario Vs Dante

....Mario and Dante both show up at the set of Halo 3 to make a special guest appearance in the game, but there is only room for one special guest appearance....naturally, they must battle it out for the spot....

:/

Nintendo really needs to STOP using the Mario Sunshine Mario model in every game. It's really getting on my nerves.

Good news. I woner if Nintendo will incorporate the DK bongos as well?

I want a WarioWare game that makes you stand on the DDR pad, hold a controller, and utilize the microphone all at once.

So does anybody have the Mad Catz dance pad and game for the cube? I heard people claiming they were going to get it before Decmeber but have yet to hear anybodys opinion of the thing...

That would be cool, but they would have to include a controller only mode for those who dont have a DDR pad or Microphone.
Great news, assuming it will make it here.

Doylerulez, great sig and avatar :)
NFG, did you ever get a chance to try the madcatz dance groove game? if you did, how's the game and how's the pad vs konami's pad.

I disagree, what does it take for people to stop calling Gamecube kiddy? Nothing but M-rated games or better yet porn mini-discs.

I don't care if Nintendo is "kiddy" or not. No other company puts out as many near-perfect games as they do. They are the best game company, period. Frankly, I love DDR, and it is about damn time the GC gets some official Konami DDR love. And having Mario in the game makes many more people play it. Hell, I wouldn't and haven't picked up a single NBA Street game yet, but with Mario in Street 3, I will most certainly be giving that a play/purchase!

I actually like mario...is that so bad?
Is it wrong for a company to make fun games, aimed at all audiences?
If you dont like mario, your either:
A: a peer pressured little shit who cant like Mario because "It aint cool!"
B: Somebody who just doesnt like the character. Thats fine, just stop bitching for no reason.
C:an xbox/PS2 owner spouting off "How big thier's is"

Seriously. Shut up. Get over it. If adding this character helps a game sell, and gets youngsters into an industry we want to see survive, why would you want it to go away?

Well, if being in shape, feeling good, and having a lot of fun exercising is being a loser, then so be it! :p

I'm glad DDR is coming to the Cube, and hell it might be fun with Mario! We can only wait and see what unfolds. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

the next twisted metal game will have mario in it...he will be driving his gokart in the game...up against sweet tooth, mr grimm, shadow, axel, etc.

that would be awesome! :p

DDR for GC = Good
Mario (Used to, who knows now) = Good

Mario and DDR = Killing the classic charater off - Bad.

Mario isn't bad. Without him, who knows if video games would be this popular. Nintendo wrongfully has a kiddie image that carried over from the SNES days.
Mind you, the Super Nes was one of the best machines of all time, despite having a kiddy image(No blood in MK, etc.). But, with RE being exclusive(well, used to be exclusive), and Nintendo releasing Eternal Darkness, you'd think they'd be able to lose the kiddie image. But, play the games because they are fun, regardless to whether it's Pokemon Mango or Mortal Kombat 9.

only losers think there's a kiddy image.

only super losers care.

only the biggest losers in the world are you.

Do you ever say anything that isn't complete trash?
oh man, this will be great, a new ddr for cube, i how they make a wavepad so =)
I'm still mad that they didn't make a WaveBongo...

Everything should be wireless.

This looks lke it'll probably be a DDR Nintendo mix, sorta like the DDR Disney game. Im a bit worried it may hinder the song selection. Though I'm still hyped up for DDR on Cube though. The more rhythm games, the better.

Hell, just think of the Donky Konga theme remixes DDR style...my legs already hurt just thinking about that.

Nintendo needs to get rid of this kiddy image some how. An M rated Zelda game may due it, or maybe more games like Resident Evil 4. Reggie has said that Nintendo is working on games that are more in touch with today's youth, which I suspect to be more "mature" games. Whats wrong with these so called kiddy games though? I like them. If Zelda Wind Waker is considered a "kiddy" game and Manhunt is considered to be a "mature" game; IMO kiddy>>>>>mature.

On topic:
Why didn't Nintendo just make a DDR type game mode in Mario Party? Maybe like 10 songs, plus all the other minigames would have mad Mario Party 6 a must buy game.

That's what I said elsewhere!

It is DDR with minigames and dumb shit.

They should make it Mario Party DDR and have a regular DDR mode with Mario and a game part of the game. They did the microphone last time, need something new this time.

I totally agree with you (and with Rig as well). Besides, IMO, the people crying about the "kiddie image" are usually Sony or M$ fanboys. And the ones I personally know have a much funner time coming to my house to play my GCN than they do staying at their own house playing their systems. That's all just my perspective though... and my two cents...

Anyway, on the subject, I've never played DDR before because I don't want to look like a fool after a DDR maniac has just gotten done on the machine. So I've wanted a home version and have recently been trying to find out which version is the best on which console (PS2 or XBOX). But now, unless it turns out that gameplay completely sucks on this one, I have now found my choice. I have long wondered why there was no DDR for the Cube.

EVERYONE is saying "kiddy" about Nintendo, and it is not helping them, every show, every magazine, that's all people hear and think of.

I call Nintendo "kiddy" because they are like a kid and don't want to go grow, they are living in the past and instead of being "inovative" people.

Nintendo is just doing as many games with Mario as it can because it is too lazy to think up new types of games, it will bring them down.

Pikmin
Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime
Paper Mario

All games that have fused genres together, innovated in its specfic genre, or sparked an entire new genre all-together. I find it interesting that no one makes innovation arguments about Ubisoft or EA or hell even Bioware... yet Nintendo always gets the card played on them. If you don't like Nintendo... fine. Don't use crappy double standards to support your claim.

Oh, and DDR w/ songs from across the Nintendo Universe (+ techno remixes) would be AMAZING. I hope thats what they have in store for us...

Pikmin is the only game there that is even close to innivative. Nintendo is just adding it's charaters to everything now to make a quick buck. Money is good, but it will fail at some point.

Why am I not complaining about other companies? Maybe it is because they don't go out of there way everyday to brag about how great and innovative they are, and how all the other companies are making trash.

Nintendo needs to get it's head out of it's ass and do something truely innovativing.

Eternal Darkness - Innovative "Insanity" Effects
Metroid Prime - 1st "First Person Adventure", 1st game in which 1st person jumping isn't completely crap
Paper Mario - Innovative Battle system... Innovative RPG/Platformer Hybrid.
That why I put those in the list if you are wondering. If you disagree with any of the reasons, by all means... I'm all ears
i love ddr games and this one will be good even if it involves mario whom i hate
If it weren't for Mario, games wouldn't be the way they are today, kid.

Anyway, I'm a DDR freak, this seems interesting for me being a DDR fan and a Nintendo fan, but we'll just see how this works out...
