Dark souls online?

I bought dark souls but I don't have a gold membership and I'm curious,what's it like?

It's a neat addition but it's not worth getting a Gold subscription for.

It's quite interesting. Use a 48-hour trial if you can, to see if the messages/ghosts/invasions appeal to you.

It's awesome when it works, which unfortunately is less than 50 % of the time.

Having other players (up to 3) help you on boss fights makes the game a lot easier and invading another player's world as a phantom is amusing too.

You aren't missing much right now. It's broken; we are waiting on patch 1.05(assuming that doesn't break anything like 1.04 did).

I just summoned a dude to help me in fighting the Iron Golem.
Poor sod got knocked off the platform by its wind gust attack.

Summoning can be incredibly helpful for a few bosses though. You won't pull your hair out on those boss fights that features multiple bosses.
It's also great getting summoned and exploring the area by helping out your host.
Sadly it is pretty broken now. it seems like 50-75% of my summonings fail. :/
