Give me Gummi Bears on DVD and I'm all set :D
After they announced a date for The Tick, I was hoping this one wouldn't be too far behind. My prayers have been answered!
And look,Darkwing Duck too! The same one I stated as suppossed to be out around the same time as Ducktales and Chip and Dale, but due to Disney's idea of putting out too much at one time, the date was pushed back. Remember when you claimed there was no way it was coming out and that I was completely wrong? Yeah...I'm basking...

Err, no... You claimed they announced a DVD release back when they hadn't. That was the extent of it. But I'm happy you enjoyed your trip to Fantasy Land!

I almost forgot about that thread. It was one of the funniest reads I've ever had.
I love that you are basking now. Classic...

I'd completely forgotten about the guy until now, but this just adds to the hilarity of the entire thing.

I remember silverhawks, and I remember being hooked on the original ghostwriter and then it suddenly went away only to reapper as a whole new show on Noggin years later.
Not necessarily all, I still catch episodes of Tale Spin every once in awhile late at night and it is surprising how well it holds up after all these years. I haven't seen Darkwing Duck in ages, but I have a feeling it is going to hold up just as well.

However there are just as many show you are correct about, I've been watching old episodes of the original Ninja Turtles, Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and other live action fare like Lidsville and it doesn't hold up well.
I could not agree more, Talespin definitly holds up and I am looking forward to watching darkwing duck, my initials are DW so I got called that a lot when the show as popular...it sort of upset me then but not so much, anyway I am excited it is coming out.
I used to own the nes dw game, which sucked, but I did love to watch the dw cartoons, can't wait!

However DuckTales are way better...

Does n-e-1 remember these cartoons?

1. Shirt tales
2. The Wuzzles

Also some show about magical koala bears... And then some public broadcasting show called zoobile zoo...

Remember those
We're the Wuzzles, Oh yeah,
We're the Wuzzles, oh yeah...
Two kinds of fun, wrapped up and rolled into one...

Yeah we got originality... living with a split personality

We're the Wuzzles, oh yeah,
We're the wuzzles, OOOH yeah.

INTO ONE!

Since you guys seem to know your old shows and actually watched PBS, maybe you can help me find out the name of this show.

It may be late 80's early 90's or god knows when. It ran on PBS and I vaguley remember a male and female lead. I only remember one episode and that's because everytiem I turned it on it was the same episode lol.

Basically they end up in a school that seems deserted but they end up in a detention and ahve to solv these math problems on the chalk boards. I believe they finally get out but does anyone know the name of this show. It seemed like it had a main plot and was just working its way to the end.

It could have been Square One TV, they had various shorts and they all were math related. They had a fake Pac-Man (math man), a fake Dragnet (Mathnet), a fake Letterman (David Numberman), etc. It sounds corny, but it was very good, especially Mathnet. They had a TV movie I believe based on that.

Theres some clips here:
http://ellery.info/mathnet/

None of those seem to match. They might not have been doing math, maybe they had to write words. It seemed like it played out more like a serial than anything else.

Many of their shorts were serials, but I'll keep thinking. It does sound sort of familiar, are you sure it was on PBS? It wasn't Ghostwriter, was it?

Tale Spin, too!

BBut I'm very, very disappointed at the treatment The Tick is getting, if "the most hilarious adventures from season one" implies that it won't be a full season...
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=5685
It also implies that it won't even be a "volume" release, but most likely a damn "best of" episode release, ugh.

The good news though is that both Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin will come intact with the pilot episodes, so my purchase for both is now most likely locked.

Considering the price point, I still have hope that it's just a poorly-worded way of saying "Hey, all these episodes are great, so buy it!"

To quote myself in the speedy thread:
Thanks speedy as always.

Holy slap someone, Batman. Darkwing Dark and Talespin for $40 that's amazing.
Fortunately, it's not a "best of" compiliation...it's the first season, sans one episode. "The Tick vs The Mole-Men" used caricatures of celebrities like Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford; if memory serves, they can't include it because someone wouldn't agree to allow them to use their likeness.

I'm praying that I'm not scheduled to work on Tuesday morning - I want to get Talespin and Darkwing Duck ASAP. :D

Hm... I wonder how Best Buy will deal with buying both of them and returning one of the sets? I have 0 interest in Tale Spin, but am 100% getting Darkwing Duck, wondering if I could return one of the sets and get $20 or so back (since I probably won't get full price).
