Dashboard update on 02/03/09 - HDMI audio fix.

As important as this HDMI audio problem is to my non HDMI 360, how about fixing the constant freezing guide problem along with this?

This isn't a huge issue, but I would also like to see the system automatically choose your storage device if you only have 1 in the system. It seems like such an easy thing to add to the OS, yet Microsoft hasn't implemented it yet.

It actually used to automatically choose your storage device. At least until last fall.

No wonder having to select my device has been agitating me lately.
Why would they take out a feature like that? It just doesn't make any sense.

What if someone has a saved game on their HDD, and another completely different saved game on their MU...i can easily see an accident occurring there.

If you have a hard drive and a memory card in your 360 it should let you select. If you only have a hard drive or a memory card then it should automatically select it.

You know I haven't had any real problem with audio and hdmi with my new arcade unit , UNTIL I started playing SC4 on it...music would cut out then go back in but sound effects were fine. I was hoping it wasn't my arcade unit or my HDMI cable as that would suck.

Funny.
I even tried to find this thread before I opened one today.
Oh well, letting people know is the important thing!

This makes me VERY happy!!!

I am just hoping it works. I have not tried it yet. I have not been home yet.

(Now if I can just find a way for the 360 to recognize my PC through the Media Player 11 to stream)
Here's a dumb question - how do I get my 360 to automatically connect me to XBL when I boot the system up?
mine is set to automatically connect, but only does it about half the time. pretty damn frustrating, and I have no idea why it doesn't connect all of the time.

wow, so this update isn't working on my xbox. First it froze it when it tried to download it and now it's trying to apply it but just won't

I'm away from home but is the cutting out sound the same as losing sound completely?

I'll hear a pop or two on my audio and sometime it cuts completely and I have to turn off the tv or 360 to get it working again. This only happens with HDMI/360. I don't have a PS3 so no go there.

Hopefully it fixes my HDMI problem to.

It did NOT work!
I went home and right away downloaded the update.
I was all excited as I moved my connections back to HDMI.
But NOTHING DIFFERENT! No change! I don't get it!
Did it make a difference for anyone else?
