Not sure if this should be here.... its kind of a request.....

Anyway, you may or may not know that Dave Chappelle has a comedy special on this weekend on Showtime! Im totally stoked, except two problems, 1 ill be camping all weekend. 2 i dont get showtime so i cant tivo it :( sooo i was hoping some CAG might be able to help me out... id be willing to compensate someone if they recorded it on VHS and sent it to me, if youd be willing to do that PM me or post a reply... the other possibility would be if someone tivod it, imported on the computer and then shared the file or burnt a dvd, file sharing would be great, but id also be willing to compensate someone for a burned dvd of the special. So let me know if you can help me out.....

also is anyone else looking forward to the special?

Sorry dood, don't have Showtime. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it too. I'll just wait to see if it's released on DVD.

Showtime is expensive. DVD may be the best shot. I'm interested in it because it's shot in nearby San Fran (the joke in the commercial about the Bay Bridge).

iheartmetal, do you just live in Davis or are you going to UC Davis? Cause in three weeks I start classes there...

well i mean, i know ill be able to download it, but i cant watch it on the tv... its just not the same on the computer.... bump

If you get yourself a DVD burner you can easily make a disc for TV viewing from the downloaded file.

You'll also need to find out if Chapelle has a PayPal account so you can do the right thing and send him his cut.

Seriously. I think it would hilarious if some performers started getting massive accumulations of $2 or $3 gifts from downloaders who just hate the distribution companies.

Doesn't Showtime replay their specials all the time? Maybe you can catch a repeat if nobody records it for you. Or you can just program your VCR to record it.

The special is supposed to air quite a few times throughout the first half of September, you shouldn't have a problem seeing it if you miss it this weekend.

I was dissapointed as well. The first 15-20 minutes blew balls as smooth as eggs. It picked up a little after that, but overall I felt it was a wasted hour.
