DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Is Pretty good! A 9/9/8/7 From Famistu! IGN: 8.0!
Are we going to do wi-fi?
i want to! let's do a Cheap Ass Tournament...Budokai Tenkaichi 3 style!

let's exchange friend codes when i get mine (probably on mon/tues..or whenever TRU has it)

Yeah I got it from GS, the first one I went to just got it in and didn't count if they had enough, so I ran to another and they had 1 left for non preorders.

I haven't tried online yet, but this story mode kicked my ass. Even after putting it on easy it took about 9-10 tries to beat Raditz, I hope the rest of the game isn't like this =/.

can you switch the spoken language of the game to japanese?

i just hate the english speaking in dbz, and japanese sounds more badass in intros to fighting games

Yeah you can.
I saw this in the display case at Wal Mart yesterday around 9 pm EST. They had just put it out.
that is SO BADASS

lol Don't feel bad. It's like that with all three games. Mainly cause you try to figure out how the hell the controls work while Raditz kicks the shit out of you.

lol yeah I've been flying through the rest of story mode, while I don't have the super advance controls down (like hit, teleport, hit, teleport, etc) I can keep the computer on its toes.

Don't have the third game yet, but that's the one thing that pissed me off about the second game.

The computer could do shit that you could never figure out how to pull off.

I'm not sure if I want to get this game or not. I'm not a huge fan of DBZ, but the fights look pretty fun and and seem to represent the series very well. How are the controls in this game? From what I read, some people love them, others hate the new controls, and some just got used to them (hmm, sounds like every Wii game).

i just want to play online.... the perfect scenario for me would be if i'm about to die and my opponent is about to deliver the finishing blow and i teleport, then i pull my controller back and push it with all my might foward and am like "KAMEHAMEHA!!!" and then I win...

just out of curiosity, did they keep the Japanese music and voices? because if they did this is going WAY UP on my want list

Yeah you can switch the VO to Japanese, I'm not sure about music.
Yeah you can switch the VO to Japanese, I'm not sure about music.
awesome, thanks buddy :) can't stand the campy VO's we've been getting

I'll try this game out but I didnt really care for Tenkaichi 1 and 2, for me it's all about the Dimps developped Budokai 3. Budokai 3 is just great fighting game that even non DBZ fans can appreciate.

Just played it last night for a few minutes. It looks and sounds great but PS3 and 360 owners might not like the looks much. Didn't have time to really test it out but it felt good. The classic controller gets some gettign use to but there was no way I was playing this with a wiimote.

Big bad so far is that the characters say ever option and give a little detail on it every single time you stop on. You know like if you stop on traing someone will speak up "Hey this were you train to get better at the game. I had to tell you this because you are to stupid to figure that out on your own. And because you are really stupid I'm going to repeat myself evertime you even look at that option." Ok not that bad but you get the idea.

Big Good. It feels like you are in the cartoon. I'm flying around sending out blasts and warping here there and everywhere. DBZ is one of my top animes and that is all I really wanted.

Voices yes, music no. However, the music is 100x better than the shit used for the second game. Sounds much more fitting for it than the last game tried (the first game merely reused Budokai 3's soundtrack for the US release).

yes i just got the game today!!!! it's so beautiful

...well it was until my batteries died... literally 5 minutes after i loaded the disc into my wii :bomb:

*sigh* have to wait 2 hours for them to charge now

Just finish the first history mission where you fight Goku's brother. That bastard kicked my butt up and down the field so I went into training mode. The training mode is kind of odd in that it doesn't let you practice every move. Most of the time they will just tell you what to. I haven't done all the training lessons so maybe they just let you practice the harder stuff.

So after my training I go back to take on Goku's brother. He beats me down but this time I put up more of a fight. So I go back into training mode and do some bigtime training. It helps a lot. By this time I can pull off moves and do the warp dodge, the warp dash follow up, block stuff, and have a better feel for the game. I get beat down again but this time I almost kill the guy.

Then I just keep at him and notice a hole in his defense and take full advantage of it. I end up kicking his butt using all the signature moves from the show.

If you are having trouble with the guy don't fight him like this is street fighter game. Instead look at him and pick your moment to hit him with your big moves. Do that and he'll cry like a girl.

another DBZ fan may flame you for not knowing his name (anime fans..lol), so I'll say it peacefully...Goku's brother is Raditz

anyways... ya...the rule of thumb is to never play DBZ games liek Street Fighter... you have to wait for the right moment and blast him with a Kamehameha wave

Ugh. I just got this game. It's so groan inducing.

...Mainly because the game's so damn good but leaves you groaning in pain after leaving your arms sore. I love how the controls are much more like the series itself, but the aftermath has left my arms (mostly my right) sore. I blame the high speed clashes that require waving the remote and nunchuck up and down to get higher combos and knocking your opponent away.

All in all, the game is BAD ASS.

Yeah I'm loving it, other than the Raditz fight I haven't had too much trouble but its still very fun, especially when playing with someone else. I should go back and learn some of the super advanced moves, but I have so mnay games right now I can't sink time learning something like that.

Sometime soon we should get a small tournament going or something, I'm sure that would be fun.

I don't get how some of you guys had a problem with Raditz or Nappa. o_o

Majin Boo's final form had me pissed off for a while. Mainly cause when you end up playing as Mr. Satan and then Vegeta, that bastard starts chaining up his combos, regardless of how much you try to run/fly away.

Just two questions:

1. Do you get to punch the shit out of people with Brolly or whoever that big badass dood is?
2. Do you get to get your ass kicked as that one robot chick?

EDIT: I only ask because I don't know who these big haired Japanese doods are, only that when I played DBZ:SSW2 for the DS, a pretty decent game, I immediately picked the biggest, most badass looking dood I could: Brolly. And deciding he needed a bitch on his arm, I stuck him with the robot chick and that became my team for the entire game. So I'd just be running through the game punching the hell outta people shouting "I'M BROLLY BITCH AND I GOT A BITCH WITH ME."

Good times.
I bought this at Best Buy for 32.49 (it was 35% off in a clearance bin, oddly enough)
How is the online play?
Terribly laggy.

Nintendo and Atari are working on it, however.
How can you be so certain?
Folks over at GameFAQs are making it their business to bust the chops of Nintendo on a daily basis, in an ultimate no-life move. o_O

And no, that wasn't sarcasm either.

Hahaha. GameFaq kids are the worse! I heard they were the ones that told Sega to stop Dreamcast.
This is one of the games I'm getting tomorrow... Man, I can't wait to beat on people while I'm Super Saiyan Goku.
i'll verse you with Super Saiyan Gohan! when you get into it lemme know your friend code.

If Online Play is laggy, I'm not. Nonetheless, it looks like a good game. I'd rather get the 2nd one since it's like $15.00 though. However, doesn't future online play..

We just got this the other day.
Def a lot of fun, but it's different then DBZ 2.

Online play is just ashame. I couldn't believe how laggy that was!!

I can see online play being unfun REAL fast once people get insane reflexes. I'm past Frieza in story mode and I still don't understand how the pummeling combos really work and why the AI can pound on me a lot more than I can.

yeah...the AI goes so fast and does all these moves that are impossible for us to do. and the thing about this game is that when the AI manages to get even one hit on you, an onslaught of even more hits come... and it's impossible to dodge because they hit you in teh stomach so hard that your paralyzed so vanashing attacks don't work.

but nonetheless the game still rocks even thogh online sucks. i love doing the movements for attacks with the Wiimore/Nunchuck
Guys, there IS a tutorial section. And unlike the other games, it's not just an explanation with screenshots. :p
Yeah, I went through that.

And regarding that second sentence, you're a liar. :p

Hopefully Online gets fixed. I heard DBZ2 and DBZ3 are pretty much the same except for small differences.

DBZ2 = Tons of Battles in Campaign; No online
DBZ3 = Tons of Cut Scenes in Campaign - a lot less battles; Online Play

If this is the case.. Id just get DBZ2 even though DBZ3 might have more chars. There's like 200+ anyway. Really no point getting DBZ3 then if Online is jagged imo.

so is this better w/ the wiimote? I was reading a reviews where it said to use the Gamecube controller.

What's wrong w/ the online? Thx

For me it is. When I do a special move I like doing the same motions as in the anime. Makes me feel like I'm releasing all that power. To me it likes difference in playing guitar hero with a contoller and a guitar controller. Sure you can play with a regular controller but it isn't as fun.

From what I've played, it seems like the combos have been changed a lot from Ten. 2, especially the tripping combos. It felt like I had to learn how to play all over again. After about an hour in the story mode, and 2 hours in the training mode however, everything that the computer does is given to you.

Oh, and Kid Buu is still magnificently broken, even though they nerfed the knockback that his Mystic Combination does.

Let's talk Dragon Balls. Sometimes I magically have one when I break lots of shit in story mode. Should I be levelling every level to make sure I'm full up on these. I imagine I can wish in some hot shit if I make a habit of having that dragon dood's number...

What's really fun is breaking story mode levels; beating Broly with Master Roshi, having Zangya smash both Krillan and Gohan... Good stuff on the levels they don't set to IMPOSSIBLE.

i heard that nintendo would fix the lag issue sometime this month, i wanted to try out my skillz online, but the lag is so horrible now.

Online is the only reason I'd consider getting this game. So I really hope they fix it.

I really want to play Tenkaichi 3, the last time I seen it in stores was on boxing day and it was going for full price at $50.00, not sure if I want to pay THAT much for it.
